Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

Each person tries to build a pod that will be dropped from different heights and whoever suffers the least amount of damage wins

Add no sails/wing surfaces because with lift surfaces it becomes really easy, I actually did this at some point.

Well, I was going to point out the error of the concept, but they made it work. Usually the loser of a dog fight is the one that gets shot out of the sky, but with 0 G....you kind of had to be going towards the ground to begin with for you to "go down" in the first place. Well, I guess it's like changing the game from Bingo to Blackout.
Like Swan Lake... with guns.
I wonder how much more terrifying it would be to drive a hover vehicle on the water with 2g, slowing down would cause you to dip into the water so quick.
What if you did a couple multiplayer Mondays (or even 1 long one) where you revisit some of the much older Scrap Mechanic building challenges like zip line or pole climber or something and you see just how much your building technique has improved?

He may look like a function guy but with the space cockpit he's like nah.
Not sure if possible, haven't played in a while.
But can you use the 0-G setting on the high seas map to make flying ships that can only use sails to move?
An idea for a future Trailmakers multiplayer video: "Plane fight evolution but it is 2x the gravity".

You should do a space carrier dogfight! One person will have a cargo ship and will be trying to get to the other side of the map with no weapons, while a team of two enemy players will be trying to stop the cargo ship. Rotate teams each time, and, whoever gets the farthest as a cargo carrier wins!
The fighters could start from the station and maybe you go between two planets?
You guys should build unmanned rockets/glide drones with explosives that you launch at each other from around ~200m away. I've made few and they're pretty satisfying when you get a nice glide and flight path. I'd love to see how you guys use sensors to make a smart rocket!

Interesting Idea I had was sails. On lower Gs you retract the sails, but the higher gravity gets the further you deploy them to grant yourself more lift. And because the sails current state of deployment doesn’t change the balance of weight, you can still build your entire aircraft with the sails in mind and not worry about having to somehow deal with the shifting weight
I used sails to make a very VERY effective wyvern ornithopter, but it also doubled as a submarine. By retracting the sails, I can not only dive bomb more easily but it also makes swimming easier (hidden water turbines) because the wings cause the wyvern to want to drift to one side or resurface.
Really quite genius using EMP on the last 2g. Makes sense. That was a lot of fun.
You should do a video where you have dogfights while another person randomly changes the gravity every 10-30 seconds. Between 0g and 2g
I really like this gravity increase concept. You should do it in more challenges!
Any idea if projectiles from cannons are affected properly by altered gravity? If so, tank battles with varying gravity would be pretty funny.

I know that you have probably have seen this from another commenter at some point, but I think you might enjoy space engineers. It has a creative mode that would let you do battles, and it also has a campaign type experience as well that you can complete co-op or solo. Although I think it might be a little complex for something like a smaller everyday type battle, if you tried it and enjoyed it and someone else that you make content with(or somebody new!) could do monthly of weekly battles because it takes a lot of time to build a ship or rover
you should do gravity-battles with cars, lol
dunno if race, or battle, but it could be pretty interesting, you could also make a rule to not allow powering your wheels, to make it harder

you can add a key to invert the flaps so you can counter rotate easier when you lose one wing
Now you've made battle trains, battle EMP planes, battle tanks, flying tanks (yet to be added), battle planes with varying gravity, and battle motorcycles, now how about battle buses?
Using an Emp in a dogfight feels so cinematic! Like: “Starbord engine hit, check the damage- ahh! Reboot the rudders!!” Kinda thing :)

Hey, Scrapman. I just thought of an evolution type of battle that the gang might like.
Mechanics:
1. The usual, whichever winning vehicle is used and modified for the next round.
2. Weapons also evolve every round.
3. 4 rounds of combat; Round 1 starts at sea, Round 2 on land, Round 3 in the air, Round 4 in space/0G.
P.S. The more the merrier. 😉
Now I’m curious to see how else this concept could be applied 😂
For example how much does the increased gravity affect boats and hydrofoils and could you have an ocean battle with this concept?

You should make weaponised race cars and after doing races in race island you should do a tank style battle in the same vehicles
Zero G seems pretty revolutionary. What if you did a land race, but lowered the gravity from 2g to zero G? You'd build something that had to provide its own downforce but not so much downforce it can't race in 2g.
It Would be cool if you have a flying robot dog right with detachable Arms and thrusters with the EMPs

id love to see a glider dog fight with minimal thrust to stay up or something like that
Gravity evolution - as the rounds of the evolution format go by, you also have to deal with more and more gravity.
do a minion plane fight, you use logic to make the work on their own. the other option could be an evolving remote control plane.
You should do this gravity challenge, but with bayblades. It'd be interesting to see how they react between 0.2 gravity and 2x gravity.

Don't know as I don't own a copy og Scrap Mechanic yer, but Biplanes can't "lean" with earlier historic models, they lose air dynamics and fall when the wings are vertical.
This is probably my favorite scrapman design

Of course blasters are melee weapons. We learned this from Han Solo in the cantina scene in the original Star Wars movie.
Here’s 3 ideas Space boat dogfight or space boat race or space race with check points as the planets
2G's? You know my TV's been telling me if you switch now to Verizon, you can connect to the nation's largest 5G net-oh, wait. Different G's there.
But when are you going to battle sailing ships on the high seas? The auto stabilizing gyro will help with the nonsense the sails throw out. I think it's about time for a proper pirate battle.

Not sure how well it'll work, but a race on the ground with evolving vehicles where every round gravity is increased

- Must have legs and walk/run motion
- Jump pack on a 3-5 sec timer.

I know a good trick insted of tanking the damage you make a very light plane i have tryed it in 1 g dogfights but not 2 g it works best as a mini biplane with a propeller
Idea for MP trailmakers: Dogfight (or a race or stunt course or whatever) with planes without pitch control.
Similar to how many planes have no yaw, but can change your yaw using pitch and roll, it's also possible to change your pitch using only yaw and roll. Not easy. You'll need a *lot* of altitude to start, and likely a test flight or two to get used to the idea, but an interesting challenge.
Of course, you'll have to forbid just putting large vertical wings on and essentially building your plane sideways. Maybe say the only vertical wing peice allowed is a single tailfin at the back.

Learn the difference between nose heavy and tail heavy. As long as a plane is nose heavy, it can fly. But if the nose is pulling up on its own, then the plane is tail heavy and needs more weight in the front.
Reverse G battle next? Instead of keeping up you have to stay down
What about a dogfight where you take G-force into account and if 'you' experience too many Gs then you 'pass out' and lose control for a few seconds?
Not sure how the logistics of that would work
Double gravity would make the air twice as thick right? I feel like that would partially counteract the heaviness of a plane in 2G, it would give more lift.

controlling your plane in 2x gravity does indeed show-- your plane visibly controls like it weighs twice as much as it normally does, which makes a lot of sense.

just a suggestion but you should try and do a jetpack emp battle for your next challenge
If you want to stay in the air just make a rock crawler with the hover pads but with a. Plane you will stay in the air if you can control it
If possible can you try using detachable blocks in your build like you have to use at least 10 and use emps and part of your plain or even car or plain vs car and your plain/car would fall apart while flying or driving

Day 1 of asking scrapman to make a challenge where everyone builds a tank and battle with it, then after the round they can take these choices to upgrade it, take the flying route and make it fly, or the floating route and make it swim, or keep it with the ground route.

I think you should battle with only giant thrusters
you should try to use planes but you can go only so high up or else the plane doesn't work / limited height dogfight.
