    The dolphin dive or whatever is not permitted actually. It’s a part of what the Siva U’u means. Always respecting the Va or boundary between you as Aiuli and the Taupou. Never EVER dive! Never should a Sister put herself on her brothers back and vice versa.

    My best tip ever at 1:17-29 ... when you're coming in, don't walk in front of the Taupou, otherwise someone will kick you ... but remember don't dance in front of the Taupou. hahaha! Loved that Bruce Lee thang! That's a good one! :)

    Dolphin dives are only done by afew , not all Samoans do this. In respect its meant to energise the atmosphere. But it's the respect for the Taupou. Just remember the screwdriver.

    To all the Samoan guys and the Afakasis please do not dive in front of the Taupou, respect the VA(Gap) that's not the job of an Samoan aiuli, your job as a aiuli it's to make the Taupou look like a Princess or be the Protector that's the hole point of a aiuli not this dolphin dive thing 😒 🐬💦(SA LE SIVA U'U)

    Noooooooo. there is no such thing as "dolphin dive" in the siva Samoa. Doesn’t matter whether you’re an expert or not, DONT DO IT. that is siva u'u, its a big NO NO in the Samoan culture. Try dolphin diving in front of the elderlies and you get whacked in the head with the kookoo..

    Aiuli always siva away from the taupou...you know the Samoan saying "aua le siva u'u" meaning not to dance so close to the taupou.
    The taupou should be the center of attention, not you..so keep away and don't be "fia iloa", by wanting to steal the limelight. Don't dive in front of the taupou either ..that's a great disrespect in the Samoan taualuga and culture. If I were the taupou and you dive in front of me wanting me to step on your back (wait a minute..what is a dolphin dive, anyway?)..that will be the end of your "aiuli" life right there because my "mulivae" is as sharp as a 'oso ko kiapula..LOL!. So stop that if you used to do that in the taualuga.

    • @lebanonjames1807
      @lebanonjames1807 3 года назад

      May I ask,
      Then why do people do it, and what was the origin of the "dolphin dive"?

    • @ncy-wc5vn
      @ncy-wc5vn 3 года назад +1

      @@lebanonjames1807 No one actually knows who started it but it was most likely someone not bought up with Samoa culture and then people who didn't know better, copied. If you're bought up with Samoan culture and taught the customs then you're taught how to aiuli young. I've seen people get hit or stomped on from attempting the "dolphin dive" during a taualuga.
