I started on my private pilots license right before covid hit us. my very first flight was in a little piper 150, that thing is like a flying VW bug lol. but he let me take off and everything. as soon as we got some altitude i started playing with controlled stalls and just getting a feel for the plane. I started to do a tight barrel roll when the instructor yelled at me and grabbed the other controls. he said 'this isn't a mustang! you'll rip the wings off!' lol. ill never forget that.
You no , I love this show what a crew and what a diamond geezer you are Bruce wish all governors where like you what you work with is hard to beat to military history is amazing there is so much depth it's unlimited and truly incredible then you add to that the massive sacrifice on the part of all who have ever served in combat and you really can't help but see the depth you guys make it realy interesting to the masses and that makes what you do very special please keep it up I personally love it thanks to you all good looking Bruce this is envious Sean 😆 ❤
You have a great show! The American "paratrooper boots" are called ankle boots and were not issued to paratroops. The "winter boots" are called over boots and were intended to be worn over your leather boots.
The Fallschirmspringer ( Paratroper ) in min 5:04 is Max Schmeling a German heavyweight boxer and heavyweight boxing world champion between 1930 and 1932.
yep. in the late 20's into the 30's the Germans and the ussr shared developments and the germans trained in the ussr to keep it hidden from the western Europeans. but the first troops to use parachutes in mass were French observation balloon troops.
the prices for this junk are ridiculous, i wouldnet pay $5 for most of it. My dad said in Poland in the late 1940s there were so man german helments everywhere you would use them as plant pots
Interesting you should say that. When my dad came home from WWII, he brought a WWI German helmet. It was hung upside down on chains and used as a plant holder. I didn't know what it was till I grew up. I still have it - probably worth a few bucks.

Been using rust reformer for years.. since the mid 70s. Dad put me on to it he was a Chemistry Teacher after WW2 and his demob.
curiosa, i think that was Max Schmeling jumping of from the german plane....
Correct...👍
Someone turn the music back up please! I can actually hear them talking in this one... unacceptable 🤣
🤣🤣
I worked in Midland VA and the little airport had these planes there. My boss took us over to see them before the display opened.
Mark from IMCS militaria in Oss (Holland) sells the best quality WW2 stuff.

The Red Army had older Airborne units before the German Air Force
