These are generally fun though it might be a stretch to say people are living like they did back when. Back when there were no showers, no fine cloth in great supply, no toilet paper, etc. In addition each noble or knight would need a retinue and of course serfs. They are notably absent. The Pennsic war in Pennsylvania is a fairly large event though they don't have the fancy horse riders and of course they don't speak German. It is a 2 week long event and I don't recall if there is anything like a day pass.
