Excellent observation. I thought the same thing. I would have suspected much more of the process was automated than this. This looks very labor intensive.

It would take too long. Anyways when you get the cube you turn it and the lube gets everywhere inside.
Wrong. When you get the cube, it's days (or weeks) later. It isn't even ok to turn the lube in after just 5 minutes (!). You have to work the lube in instantly.
They have enough money to buy lubes that does not evaporate.

Nice video I was always curious to know how the cube is manufactured, and it is interesting to see that most of the work is done manually. I hope now that those fond of destroying and burning cubes realise the hardwork behind making it.
Now you also understand how cruel it is to destroy stuff like iphones and such just to make money...
But why would the company care? you payed them so I'm sure they don't care what happens when you buy it...

This was interesting, Ive always enjoyed jobs doing monotonist tasks but I may get bored doing any of those jobs for an extended period of time, it's weird alot of cubers say they'd like working in a place like this but I think the fun would wear off rather quickly.

So... I just got some stickerless MoFangGe and one of them was my first 5x5! Excited to learn it, just finished learning 4x4 today :)
I would love a job like this. Making cubes for cubers. It sounds bad that I want to work in a factory but I love putting things together. Then if there were to be a cube that wouldn't work and was up for scrap, I would take it home and try to mod it. Then putting together *SHAPE MODS* and other *NON-WCA PUZZLES* would be awesome! :)
Would you settle on $1.25/hr for that job too?
