The audacity of that young lady is unbelievable! ------------------------------------------ [Seriously though, she was indeed an amazing "co-host." There were times when she had the flu or almost no sleep and she still showed up on time to make sure I wasn't left to do the session on my own. She certainly worked as hard at being "the student" as I did being the teacher.]

You do "not" that backpack I showed in the video ( ruclips.net/video/XVh0bOVLSxs/видео.html ). It is a "Saddleback Leather Company" backpack. That is one expensive, uncomfortable, heavy, beast. It digs into your back. I don't think that exact model is made any more, the closest I could find was: saddlebackleather.com/leather-backpack-laptop-squared I thought it would be cool to have as the "last backpack" I'd ever own. Instead I ended up just using it to carry my teaching gear (camera, laptop, wires, etc.) for short walks from my office to the "studio-classroom." It "looks" beautiful and will, I'm sure, outlive me -- but it just isn't my "go to" bag due to its weight and the way it hangs. My actual favorite backpack is a Lowepro Camera backpack. Of course I "do" tend to pack around cameras. If I were you I'd try to find a big store that sells lots of backpacks and try on a few different styles "in person" if possible.

Google: "Saddleback Leather" then click around their site. Note: While the backpack "looks" killer and will very likely outlive me -- it is not my preferred backpack. Rather, I've relegated the Saddleback to relatively short "office to classroom" hauls of my teaching equipment. I leave it at the office. The thing is nearly as heavy as an actual saddle and the curve of the leather causes the bottom edge to dig into my back. Thus I can't recommend that backpack. However, I would imagine that some of the company's other bags and creations are quite awesome. I stumbled onto my current (long term) "go to" backpack quite by accident. I was in a large discount store and noticed a cool-looking black "backpack" on sale that seemed light yet strong and well padded -- with roomy pockets in the right places. Turned out it was a "Lowepro" bag. Lowepro, I found out later, is chiefly a "camera bag" company -- focusing on hauling solutions for professional photographers. If I'm still teaching when my current bag wears out I might get something along the lines of the "Lowepro ProTactic 450 AW Camera Backpack." Note though that unless you haul around a lot of photo gear or have similar equipment needs -- such a bag is probably not the best choice. My son is a fan of "The North Face" backpacks -- and his lasted throughout 4 years of high school including rugby practices. Is there a specific sign for the word sunflower? Or would you finger spell it? Also whether there is a specific sign for it or not can you sign Sun and then Flower for Sunflower?
You can sign SUN and then FLOWER (using a smooth movement with no pause). There are some folks who will tell you to spell "sun" and then sign FLOWER. If your conversation partner wants it a certain way then do it that way. (But it is not wrong to sign SUN-FLOWER.)
i have a bit of a silly question: when i was noting the differences between must, have-to, should, and need, i noticed that some signers mouth different things depending on which word it is. i noticed that have to usually has a mouth movement that looks like you’re saying “affoo” and should has a mouth movement that looks like “sh” need looks like an “ee” sound. is this correct? or am i making things up😂 i very well may be making it up
@the.phoenix.system In regard to your comment about mouth movements and what they look like -- you are absolutely right on. Good job! The key word in your observation was "some." Readers of this comment need to keep in mind that not all Deaf use mouthing and/or not to the same extent. If you see mouthing it can provide clues to the intended concept.
Why “pay low” for house not “cost low”? Your house didn’t pay for something. (I’m looking for an explanation like why it’s “name you” not “name your”: it’s not exactly name, it’s “called”, what are you called.)
A phrase such as YOUR HOUSE PAY LOW? -- translates to: Is your house payment low? If I wanted to ask, "Are your housing costs low? Then I could use the sign for "COST" but not necessarily "HOUSE" because "housing" and house are two different concepts. Housing means "houses and apartments considered collectively." So in ASL I might seek more information first (such as finding out if a person is renting) and then just sign "YOUR RENT LOW?" As far as you wanting an explanation for "NAME YOU" vs "YOU NAME" -- go read through my grammar pages at Lifeprint: www.lifeprint.com/asl101/pages-layout/grammar.htm In real life it is often just "NAME?" (while looking at the person).
