My local 99 closed last week, I drove through the parking lot one last time 😢, it has been such a staple in my life for such a long time, I'm gonna miss it so much, Thank You for sharing your memories ❤

Aww sway you have me crying with you. I have been in a dark place these last few years, not crafting at all. So I didn’t know what was happening. I am sorry to see them close. I loved the 99 store. Several years ago when I was in Cali I of course went shopping at the 99. I’m sorry to see them go. Omgosh Sway I’m so sorry to see the Sway to the 99!” Go too. I do understand tho. Thank you for sharing your history. So meaningful. My local store closed on Monday. We only had 60% off. For me, 99 was a friend. So sad to see it gone, but, happy that you will still have your platform.

Hello Sway! I enjoyed listening to your story behind the $.99 store and how much you was involved with them. But the said thing is I teared up when you were telling us about everything you were involved with the 99 and how they helped you and your community out in hard times. I can see now why you’re so disappointed about the 99closing. Yes, we can all say sadly say bye to Sway the 99 but we can happy to say Hello to Sways Deals. i was shocked when i saw on the news that they were closing that i wrote about it in my journal and put a picture of it and looked though all the journals i had of like flyers and things i picked up from the 99 cent store . i grew up going to the 00 cents store when i was like second grade til now and iam going to miss the deals and things i would get like snacks, things to use in my journal, to journals, to school supplies, to party goods and toys and things for my cousin son or just shopping there with my cousin and my grandparents who are now passed but have fun memories of that. even collecting toys from there as i see them displayed in my room or going there during covid to get the things other stores ran out of and getting deals on veggies and fruit and bread . i know like you said the princes have gone up but there were still deal there. my mom and i had made friends with some of the workers there and the manger she would say hi to me all the time and ask where my mom was and things like that i will miss that.
So sad, but looking forward to Sway's Deals :)

Oh my gosh, I can see the sadness in your eyes, the tears. Sway, you have such a big, generous and compassionate heart. I can tell that by just watching and listening to your videos. You are a very special person filled with kindness and love. If I can see that from Iowa and never meeting you in person I am sure the 99 personal picked up on it immediately and knew you would be a great ambassador for their store. When a door closed for you they help open another. Now their door is closing and because of the kindness they showed you and the strength and friendships you gained along the way tells me they are still there for you in your heart as another door opens. You took a chance with them in a very uncertain time in your life and they inturn opened a door that taught you a great lesson in faith and hope. That is something no one can ever take away from you and you can always fall back on. So as one door closes another door opens, you will be even better because of the generosity shown to you by the 99 and their personal........ your unforgettable precious friends.

Anyways, I’m so grateful that I found you through the 99 Cents store. I grew up with them, my family and my parents my sisters, my grandma we all love it and we were also devastated.

Well, Sway I've known about the 99 cent store back in the 80's when I moved out here in June 1,1985!!!! It was in 1986 or 1987 when I find out about it!!!! I did not make the 99 cent store my everything store until 2011, (2011-2024)!!!! My 99 cent store closed: May 20, 2024!!!!! Yes, I will missed it!!!! It is was it is, life goes on!!!! I will be shopping at Ralph's from on!!!! Bye-bye!!!!

So appreciate this last video!! Last Sunday our local store closed.. $10 for all you could fit in a shopping cart! I was there at 9:15 am Sunday & quite a lot of seasonal left. By 10:00 am. the store was completely empty. Can you believe it? Still So very sad for me! 😩 😓

I am also a New Yorker now in NJ and never heard to the 99 until I found your channel and always said ahhhh too bad they aren’t in NJ.

Sway I could hardly wait to see the holiday previews. The 99 had really stepped up in their holiday decor. I have already been counting down to halloween definitely going to miss this year 😪.
All our local stores in San Antonio have officially closed already. 99 cent was our to go store during covid and when I became a single mom this store saved me. My family and I are devastated they have closed. 😢
My heart breaks for you Sway. I know this was like your home away from home. You had such good rapport with the employees and a lot of them just loved you, it’s going to be very hard. You going just about every day to film, you were always so excited with the new items that would come out .I hope that they treated their employees better and informed them ahead of time that they were closing. here in Arizona at least the stores in Tucson. They sent them an email. How horrible was that? So impersonal there was people that had been there for more than 15 years They didn’t even they were closing. And now all these employees are out of a job, some employees I talk to we’re worried where were they going to find a job some of them were older . 😢 sending you a hug from Cafecito.
I didn't know you were from New York! Do you remember Jack's 99? That store was amazing. When I moved back to California, the 99 Stores were my go-to. I literally live in walking distance from the 99. So sad to see two awesome retail chains go out of business.
So this must be a late discovery, but I found the same stuff at Party City! I will miss the 99 so much!😢
It's so sad that the 99 only store closing forever . Its Dave Gold fault he should have called the the $99 only store instead and it would continue many years .
Let me tell you I am soooo depressed that the 99 cent store closed here in my neighborhood, I am in San Jose Ca , and its sooo depressing seeing this amazing store close , seeingtthis store not be utilized anymore, it's a dark building now , empty parking lot, I used to feel the community vibes with this place being open , now its just a unused piece of real estate, I needed Cilantro the other evening and I had to travel meaning get in my car and drive to the store, luckily i can drive and have transportation , but I knew there are people that do not have transportation so it makes life convenient for some people . I literally shopped there every 3 times weekly. Very Bittersweet.
