Solving the issue with restarting/disconnecting/recalibrating Logitech G920 or G29

- The main problem is high voltage static electric charge from our feet, so when we touch the pedals it messes the work of the wheel controller. That happens because pedals are "grounded" from usb ground contact. The solving is to remove pedal "ground". And it's done, you won't lose online races anymore.
Worked for me I was using barefoot or with socks on as soon as I used trainers never cut out. But as soon as I put my bare foot on it cut off so thank you for this I was going to sell it for parts. Life saver.
Just clear things up I never took it apart I just used with trainers on and not barefoot but seems to work so thank you bro. 😎
I was just bout to sell my steering wheel till I tried this!!!! Thank you 🎉🎉🎉
Hey bro you having issues with your shifter at all? I only just managed to get my wheel working
@@lxopenfirexl7007 yea wheel wroking perfect
@@dizhwarfaaz4395 what was the issue
I may not be the only dumb one, but I bought another wheel because of this, I bought an UPS unit providing steady power to the wheel and the PC to elminate a possibility of this being something at my home with power supply... Now I have two functioning wheels just by isolating the grounding cable. Why has Logitech made such an abomination and unreasonable grounding in general - I do not understand. Either way, kudos to you, Lee DaWestRider.
What do you mean ?
I mean that I did not know that there is a simple fix for it and bought another wheel because it was out of warranty. Logitech support simply stated that the wheel is defective and can be scrapped.
Hey guys, sometimes I press one of the pedals and the the pedals move the wheel disconnects. It also can be because of a bad power supply
This will fix it, I've had the same problem, but it started again now
thanks heaps i recently brought one in perfect working condition.. well this made it work perfectly 👌
This worked! Good job dewd
I have this exact problem of it randomly disconnects from the ps5. So frustrating. It might go for 45 minutes or it might shut off in 5 minutes. Does this fix really work? I called Logitech and they had me download a bunch of new stuff and nothing fixed the issue. I guessing you have to remove the screws in the bottom and re.ovr the pedals to access the grounds? Also I have a carpeted floor.
Спасибо, метод рабочий. Thanks, it worked
Не за что. чем мог - тем помог.
this method works guys.. you can trust it :)
I found out that if you contact Logitech support they will send over a replacement for free instead of going through this because some people say it dose not work
How do you do that tho? I cant find the number for support and the website doesn't have anything to click on to speak to support
Yeah just got one and can't set it up... light keeps flashing and this guy wants you to take your wheel apart and then you won't know how to put it back together
I watched this video and thought I was dumb for removing my socks and turning back on my wheel, now I would've felt dumb if I didn't try this and kept looking else where for fixes
bro i did that then read this comment
thx bro, do some videos for youtube!
Mine turns off when I turn too hard
Is it not bad to isolate the ground wire??
ima just give you watchtime lol
I never made videos before, i know its shitty but i hope it will help people to solve their problem.
@@iseethedifference yea I just lookes up the newest g920 videos heheheh
To anyone wanting to try this. The idea of it makes sense, my wheel only does this when I’m using the pedals. Using the wheel only or on idle it doesn’t happen. I have disconnected one grounding wire but it still does it. I will attempt to remove all 3 grounding wires and see what happens
Disconnected all 3 ground and this did not resolve my issue. Onto the next
@@suhailtamatane did you fix it?
Hi, did you fix it by any other means? I have the same problem now 😢😢 If you can let me know the possible solution. It would be a great help. Thanks
@@TapashMazumderSusanta_TSi have same problem can you help me
@@rozhgarkamaran8083 Hi, in my case it was earthing problem. Whenever I played by bare foot it’s got short circuited but restarted every time but with shoes it is working perfectly.
Worked nice
My problem is that whenever i press a pedal(gas, brake, clutch) my wheel restarts and im sure the pedals aren't the problem because i tried different Pedals and still same issue, i think its from the Steering wheel
My steering rondom restarting idont know has problem can you help me
I had this issue with my g920 and I saw your video today. I decided to play with shoes on instead of bare foot and it worked right away ? Does this make sense ???
yeah, it could be a solution but anyway big metal parts attached to small electronics can work as antenna ... so you better detach them from grounding circuit.
Thanks for the quick reply. Strange thing is when I connect my g29 for ps4 and ps5 to the same pedals and shifter I don't have this issue. It's only when I plug the g920 to the Xbox series x ( I have one set of pedals and shifter and 1 g29 and g920 that share the 1 set of pedals and shifter . I just swap the wheel out)
At first I thought it was just the g920 not liking the ps4 g29 pedals and was a comparability issue.
Yesterday after I wore a shoe I tried again barefoot and it worked perfectly. I'm so confused.....
Ok so I just tried it again connected to my play seat and problem came back . Opened the pedels and did your little trick on all 3 pedels with electrical tape. Instantly started to work . Fingers crossed it doesn't happen again
Would using socks make it better or worse? Lol
@@xXBlackxMoonXx1 it doesn't matter what you're using, just google what is static voltage and how it's being obtained, you'll understand the trick. Also big metal parts could works as antenna and induce high enough voltages to disrupt normal work, or even to damage small electronics. Sorry for my english. I'm russian speaking :)
thanks alot
Mine is not turning on PLEASE help
Mine too😭
Sameee
same
Did you do the exact same thing?
Would wearing foot wear(with rubber bottom) or just covering pedals with cloth work? cuz i have a hard time getting inside pedals
No, it would not work. or the efficiency would be very low. You can connect a grounding wire to the pedals( to each pedal). That would do the trick , however this is an awkward installation and it can generate other unpredictable issues, so i've abandoned this idea at the beginning. Maybe using pedals barefoot would make it a better way but our bodies can have different electrical properties so i can't say for sure. 😉
my problem is that when i plug in the pedals, the wheel turns off... But when i unplug it , the wheel starts to work
it's a different issue but, you should check your pedals for short circuit, therefore it's a good idea to check the cable for short circuit as it can wear off in the place it being bent most often.
@@iseethedifference Happily i've found the warranty, so i can fix it. But idk what could be a problem.
@@Spurtas_Hello، how can I fix it؟ I have the same problem
@@rozhgarkamaran8083 Yo, you have to clean the potmeter.
@@Spurtas_ you have social for help me ?
I tried this on my g29 now it won’t even calibrate /:
then assemble it back to its place
How do I fix line when the t Jones at doesn't steer and it constantly flashes no matter what
Whenever I plug my pedals into my wheel, the wheel immediately shuts off. Do you think it could this could be the solution to it?
no, your pedals could have a faulty cable and it creates a short circuit, there is a simple way to find it. but ussualy it hapens near cable terminals where its being bent most frequently. just my opinion. so could be a simple fix
Hey man, I have a friend who had the same problem and we at first thought it was something similar to this video but it wasn't, turns out that the cable itself was faulty. So he replace the VGA connector with another VGA and now it works like a charm.
@@Raptr12Hello، how can I fix it؟ I have the same problem
Am on a ps4 and when am gaming it disconnects every few minutes any solutions anyone plzz help
I have the thrustmaster pxn v900
And did u putted the metal part back on the prewious place?
there are lots of metal parts,i don't get what part are talking about. but anyways, you've unscrewed the groundings from pedals, and isolated them with a tape or whatever, that's it. if you have a digital multimeter you can check if pedals are in contact with central contact lead of any potentiometer attached to the pedals. there should be no electric contact between them. theres also another way to escape the effects of static electricity. its the actual grounding of the metal parts of your pedals with a proper ground. but that is a bit unpractical due to having additional cable going out of your pedals to a grounding contact in your home. effective but not practical. also there is a chance that you have a different issue besides static electricity. electronics and radiowave mechanics could have a wide range of effects on devices we are using. its also a very interesting topic to study because nowadays everything is radio and electric.
No because mine does wen I’m not even near it
it could happen if you have some high voltage source near the usb cable or other cables connected to the wheel, for example a plasma tv (there is a big difference between plasma and lcd technology). This wheel has some circuit issues, which make it vulnerable to high voltage electromagnetic interference.
My g923 started to basically disconnect every time i brake.... Do you think i have same issue?
seems like it's the same issue, look believe me, cutting off this groundings is going to solve a lot of issues. because it's a very bad design. i'm just not sure if g923 has the same pedals as g920. the idea is that big metal pedals could work as antennas and could pick electric charge as from static electricity as from electromagnetic waves and fields through capacitative or inductive connections. simply speaking big metal parts attached to small electronics like usb grounding could cause different malfunctions with almost unpredictable results. best way is to disconnect these parts from circuits like is shown in video. its very easy to do, plus same time when doing this mod you can also remove a stopping rubber from break pedal which will allow you to push break pedal to 100% with smaller effort. This will make your experience flawless as it should be.
@@iseethedifference nvm thx god it was The USB extender i was using... I putted the ps5 closer so i an Plug in the USB directly
Didn’t fix mine
I isolated it and it didn't work
Did you fix it?
Doesn't work
Useless
