Really cool vid. I had no idea he made that custom design. It sounds like it looks. Check my patented fretboard invention 🎸🎶 in fact Kurt often pulled the strings off the fretboard to get feedback FX solos. My design allows this on any string.
Kurt Cobain wrote some of the best riffs we've ever heard on the guitar, just because he couldn't* do any neoclassical sweep picking doesn't mean he's not a legend, and he deserves just as much respect as Vai, Van Halen or Malmstein
As a songwriter he deserves a lot of credit. As a Guitarist? He was just okay. He knew enough to write the songs he wanted to write. But he won't be revered as having done something revolutionary on the instrument itself. He wrote incredible songs and that's a true accomplishment. Hell, if EVH was the world's greatest guitar player but Van Halen never wrote any good songs that people liked, nobody would know who he was.

Got a blue one personally. I had wanted one since they originally came out, but they were discontinued before I could afford one, but I was able to get a limited release blue competition Mustang. Unfortunately, some jerk broke into my car one day when I went into the music store to get some strap locks. Thankfully it was covered for theft and days after it was stolen, the Jag Stang was reissued. I had JUST enough to afford it and ultimately got the guitar I had desired for many years by that point…
Do miss my blue comp Mustang as there are memories attached to it that made it worth more to me than it’s perceived value, but since it’s been around 20 years now since it was taken, I doubt I will ever see her ever again..
I have 2 jagstangs I have the fiesta red and the blue, the red is the original first release from the mid/early 90s and the blue one is from this years new release
I never knew in my life that Kurt Cobain had invented a guitar variant for Fender to be called the Jagstang. It's really awesome how famous rock artists would make innovative ideas like this. Kurt Cobain could've been an entrepreneur if he was still alive today.
Makes it sound like he sent the plans to Fender out of the blue. He had been collaborating with Fender by the time he sent to the cut up Polaroids. Another interesting fact: Courtney Love has a signature Fender too
Mouth watered over the jagstang for years and was finally able to buy one. I can Definitely say it is My favourite guitar of all time created by my favourite musician !
Kurt Cobain’s signature sound. Yeah. A track featuring a pawn shop Mosrite playing a blend of like five different fuzz pedals fed through eight different kinds of boutique amps.
He was our generations Lennon. Not sure if anyone can say the same about any current artists. I’ve been waiting 30 years for someone to come and change music again overnight...still waiting.
due to internet; changing music overnight isn’t really a possible thing, trends don’t happen in one homogenous sweep anymore but all of the best new cutting edge musicians develop cult like underground followings. also lennon beat his wife and i’m glad he got shot
Tash Sultana and Tim Henson come to mind but idk, there's so much talent out there rn I feel like it's hard for a singular person to blow up to being household names like the legends we know from pre-music streaming times. There's so much garbage music to sift through yet the music world is so saturated, the talent is there but it's hiding because so much is already in or battling for the spotlight.
The names I dropped may not qualify as revolutionary tho I suppose. But in my bubble, they're some of the best at what they do. Also, Tool I think deserves a shout-out. I'll admit I'm not enough of a music history and theory nerd to think I know who qualifies, but I do love to nerd out and have been a music enthusiastic (and musician) my entire life. Fwiw..
I think Scott Zimmerman made his Jagstang and his mustangs for that 93/94 period. Kurt had originally wanted the Jagstang to come in white with tort and red/blue with Pearl. Like the original 60s Mustangs.
The only thing is that the iconic guitar sound is because the producer Butch stole the sound drom Smashing Pumpkins. No single guitar is responsible for the incredible sound.

Pretty ironic how Kurt Cobains guitar got sold for a huge amount of money

This was ridiculously well done lol

I normally hate shorts, but this was incredibly well made. Very impressive.

Kurt Cobain proved that you don't have to be an Eddie Van Halen, to be able to sell tickets, and make tons of money, playing the guitar.
Douche bags
Slash proved that first

some of the artists put alot more effort into the guitar than kurt cobain did so thats debatable

You're missing my point, I'm saying his riff writing is what made him good, not his technical ability
He knew how to write catchy riffs though his song writing on the guitar is unparalleled
You sir are on drugs, some really good drugs.

Don't do it. Looks as bad as it sounds. Thats why I got the jaguar instead

One of the most beautiful guitars ever, in my opinion.
The video plus the sound effects make this one of my favorite shorts for some reason idk why lmao
So dope. Kurt was such a power house of a human being.
Loved this. Awesome edit, sound clips, and animation.
Glad to hear it!
>mail a couple of pictures taped together
>invent a whole ass new guitar
Tbh, Kurt was so on fire right then, he could have asked for a gas can guitar, and it would have been made.
My dads friend had Kurt Cobains iconic white glasses which he found in Kurt’s backyard a bit after he died.
I love the visuals in this video. Great editing.
this is why fender became my favorite brand of guitar
Kurt could write a better song on an hour notice than most of us mortal garage band dudes could write in a lifetime.
Such a nice thing on Kurt's new Jag-Stang guitar. Thanks.

Kurt Cobain did this in late 92 and mostly throughout 93 and he died in early 94
His original design was much better than what fender spat out. Kurt mainly used the jagstang as a back up on tour.
Kurt really was one of a kind
I came close to getting a mustang in 63

I had one when I was 16 years old in the late 90’s. I wish I still had it. It’s not really my taste now but itd still be pretty cool to have.
Saddest thing is, he only play his design for about a year...😢 ... If Kurt still alive, I guess we will see many of his design...
I had one of these years ago. One of my favorite guitars out of the many I've owned. It was really easy to play and had a good sound to it
