    Super cool stuff here Max master dude!
    I didn't download the patch, I followed along as you built it to help me understand better, this has been tremendously helpful in bridging my understanding!!
    1 Key difference being, I am using max for live, so I am routing my master channel of abletone through the plugin~(From ableton) and out the plugout~(to ableton), with most of the functional buttons within the max-ableton vertical cutoff (to manipulate paramaters in ableton while openGL render is in progress)
    I made some tweaks to certain parameters as I went along, but essentially it is the patch you designed.
    I'm now trying to implement a jit.record or jit.vcr(ideally) to record this (openGL??) (did I use the term correctly? Sorry for ignorant sounding wording, I don't fully comprehend how all this works or terminology :O)
    So max tells me to input the jit.matrices for .record or .vcr(+msp audio for .vcr but i'm wondering if I can feed in ableton sound output instead of msp audio)
    Which matrices do i need to connect to the jit.record or jit.vcr?
    And if i set the patch up appropriately in max, do you know of any functionality limitations that would prohibit me from "write $" "stop $" a Jit.rec from within ableton, with the end result of getting a video file?
    Furthermore an issue is that whenever I try to open the help files (not reference manual) for jit.vcr or jit.record max crashes :( Online information is limited (atleast until it grows more) and hard to sort out (through various versions) for jitter info.
    Hope that was a coherent enough jumble of jarbled jargon XD
    Thx for the tutorial series 837 37:37 Any help, suggestions would be much appreciated!
    essentially my end goal is to have video accompaniment that syncs to audio's that I create/compose in ableton live, and to keep experiemnting ;) Cheers

    So is this meant to load into Live as a max patch and visualize using a type of oscilloscope? Or only by routing audio as a trigger inside max independently? Thanks.

    Thanks so much for the tutorial! How would I go about creating a cube of cubes? When I add another jit.mo.grid in the z direction it varies the z position of each row of cubes instead of creating rows in each z position, if that makes sense.

    Smashing video yet again, good..nay, Great buddy Sam. Should you not scale the signal after rampsmooth~ and before squaring if the signal values are < 1. ? (squaring a # < 1 makes it smaller)

    • @dude837
      @dude837  7 лет назад

      Well, the reason for squaring the signal is that it makes it sharper, not necessarily larger or smaller. You see what I mean?

    This is great stuff; thanks. However, the patch seems to have a problem in Max 8 on Mac OS. The jit.mo.func, jit.mo.field and jit.mo.join objects are orange in contrast to jit.mo.grid which is, as you'd expect, black (or default.) There is no diagnostic in the console; the help and reference material comes up if requested. I've reinstalled jit.mo via the package installer. I'm wondering if something has changed from version 7 to version 8? Any thoughts or suggestions? Could it be part of the main install now maybe? In a conflict situation with the package install?

    • @edwardnixon1782
      @edwardnixon1782 6 лет назад

      Just to update this: the problem I commented on here yesterday seems to have disappeared today, maybe because it's now Daylight Saving Time... But the more logical explanation may be that I picked the wrong version of Max when responding to "Open with..." via right-click; I think I'm still presented with the version of Max 8 installed with Live / Max for Live. Be that as it may, all seems well and looking forward to tweaking this patcher for my own stuff.

      Hey, you probably just need to install the jit.mo package from the Package Manager. You can find it under File > Package Manager
