Den Bosch) was announced to be one of the five nominees in the competition to be Fietsstad 2011 (Cycling City) in the Netherlands. This video shows why this nomination by the Cyclists' Union (Fietsersbond) was a good thing.
On Nov. 17 , 2011 it was announced that 's-Hertogenbosch won the award!

It's great that the Netherlands has this friendly competition every year. It is a simple way to reward cities for investing in cycling, and I think it would be great to have similar competitions elsewhere in the world.
It's just a beautiful feeling to watch this video.

You guys don't realize how good you have it compared to most other places in the world.
Cause its so normal to us. Like electricity or running water. I used to think it was a universal thing....cause it is that obvious and a vital thing in society. Only when I looked online I got a culture shock. How can this not be the norm world wide? It isn't that expensive and the wheel is already invented...just copy and paste this infrastructure. Thats not that difficult. Good God I had to go without my bike for a couple of months (got run over by a car...no biggy). The thought of going without my bike again...😥🙈🙉🙊 Its part of life here. I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I didn't have the freedom that my bike gives me. To go whereever you want however you want at any time of day.....for free....I love it.
