I went through 45 years saying that the most cash I ever had was $3700.00. But as the beginning of 2022 I'm saving $500.00 a month. and Right now, I'm glad to say I have $7,880.00 so far saved up.
Hats off to you sir. I’m 32 and I have lived paycheck to paycheck my whole life lol. I am going to start saving also. I was thinking 500 a month at first also but this video has me wanting to try this. Not sure if I have enough to do it but I am going to try. Keep up the great work man.
How is it going now? Unfortunately after 2 years at my job i got sacked a few weeks ago with only $100 left from my check (yeah i spent RECKLESS and I’ve had many jobs. Saving was hard 😭) but i got hired at a new job today and i WANT/NEED to save money ASAP. I’m tired of living at home omfg. I know i can do it if i really stick to my guns but i can deal with 3 months.
@@havingteawiththedevil My advice is for you to stay with parents /home as long as you can while you save. Tell your family you want to save money for a house down payment. I think your family would support you. I had a client whose brother came to the US from Asia. He worked as an orderly in those old homes and in three years saved enough money to put a down payment for a home. He lived with his brother paying a small rent. Then another brother came and went to work at first at a restaurant then then as an orderly. he also stayed with his brother for 2-3 months but he saved a little money and bought an old fan. he then lived in that van while working 60-80 hours a week. He saved $46,000 in a year.
My husband and I started this a few weeks ago. We numbered our envelopes 10-110. We shuffled them and pull 2 each on our paydays. We also created a bonus envelope for times we come across extra cash. Hoping to use the funds to put towards our first home.
My husband and I did a money saving challenge. We used the money to pay off our 5 year car loan 3 years early. The rest we used for the down-payment on our home. We saved over 20 thousand, we did a 5 thousand challenge but double up on whatever they asked to put away.
you can also do this challange based on when you get paid as opposed to daily. So it will take longer but you save from each paycheck instead of everyday
I love that you addressed paying off debt! This is how we got completely out of debt including our mortgage. Then we invested our savings in the years afterwards and now my husband retired at 60 years old!! In the meantime we were raising our children and had money to give them a good life because we didn’t spend the money on unnecessary debt
I have been doing a savings plan, where I save 100 notes of every money denomination. So 100 notes of the ones, 100 notes of the fives and so on. By the time you collect 100 of every denomination you'll wind up with $18,600. I just started and all I have so far is 100 notes of the ones, and 100 notes of the Fives and started on the tens. Then once I accumulated 100 notes of a particular denomination, I'll put a money label around it. Can't wait to save. It's addictive.
I just began this challenge this month. I already save $200 a month, goes into emergency savings, but decided to try this to build up a down payment. Hope it works out. I decided to go the 1-100 and put money into X envelope every four days. Tip; get a calendar and write the envelope days down. Helps you keep track and stay motivated.
I don’t think that 3 months and 9 days is a long time to save and create good financial habits. I’m doing this to pay my debts and help daughter in college and to save for emergencies starting today! And I’ll be beefing up my savings for emergencies! I’ll be cutting my debt, and saving and I’ll keep it going. Thanks for this video! You are awesome! Don’t stop the process! Do what you can!
I'm starting this tomorrow Ive been making lots of money over the years and have nothing to show for it.....this method your explaining how to save and also develop positive habits sounds like a challenge I'm interested in....im actually feeling inspired to challenge myself !

Just ran across your videos today and watched a few. I am starting the 100 envelope challenge today. I won't be able to do it in 100 days, but I'm not stressing. When I get finished with it I'm buying me a reliable used vehicle. I take public transport currently.
I'm starting this challenge in the new year with a few little tweaks. I'm going to spread it out over the course of the year so every 3 days rather than every day.
Omg I was about to buy some envelopes and then you said do the challenge on your debt and it made so much sense 😅 I could knock out my credit card easy
I did something similar to this 2 years ago, and I was able to pay my Spring semester of college! I used 4-5 envelopes and labeled them by my expenses.
Just started the challenge today 🥰I cant wait to pay off the rest of my small debts and start my investment account... so glad I found your channel It's onward and ioward from here thank you so much
Personally I like consistency. I put away $20 every week. I get paid weekly and end up with $1200 a year + each year. I do this for Christmas so I don’t have a huge bill in January. It works for me and doesn’t break the back. 😊 Your method is faster and certainly worth trying. Wish me luck!
I get pay every two weeks . And a dentist emergency came my way. That make me stop the emvolope challenge. But now I have 40 left. But some pay days I pick up few more envelopes. Thank you. So glad to see a young Hispanic black male thinking in the future
I made it and I will do this challenge. I’m trying to continue to work on my love of painting and invest in myself, i.e. tattoos, sneaker customization and pop art 🖼. Wishing everyone success in doing this method and be able to use their abundance to “their hearts” desire!
I am doing a 300 envelope challenge. What I did was mix all the envelopes up and blindly grab an envelope so I can get any number. I just can't handle consecutive large numbers. So doing it by chance has really helped me do more to save without feeling over whelmed. I also have a sheet that I mark off what envelopes I took care of to date. I watch videos to get ideas on how people are finding money within their budget to save this money. This is a very good video! Thanks!
When I had my son 3 years ago I had 18k and a great job. Now that Ive lost my job and exhausted my savings I am back at 0. I plan on restarting soon. I definitely plan on trying this for sure.
I did something similar to this. I wrote down the number of weeks in a year. I was waitressing at the time. Depending on what I made, I'd check off what I put aside. Did this for about 6 months. I was able to save enough to pay for a new used car, title, tags, new tires, gave it a tune up, tented windows and still had a few thousands $$ left. I did have to displine myself as like to spend money 😉😉 I managed it. It was easier since I was waitress. If I made 100 $ if I didn't need gas or cigarettes I'd put in most of it and kept at least 20 $. Did this twice and second time bought a truck. Then I stopped.
I’m going to start this as soon as I get my envelopes set up(next day or so) Once I hit 30 days of envelopes I’m going to fill as many of the large envelopes I can and repeat every 30 days. Once I reach the 100 days I’m going to max out our Roth IRA’s. Thanks!!

I will do this starting on Monday. I also think I may pull the envelopes out randomly. So the first day may be $100 lol. Being a part time Uber Eats deliverer it should be doable. And I could do extra hours to make sure I get whatever amount I need for that day.
I never thought of doing this game but I’ll try it out for investing. I wanna see if I can afford the 100 day challenge but I can twist it up like a 30 day, etc. thanks for the content! 🔥
I will for sure do it . I am also starting a $1 a day challenge for the year and I just started my budget planner that has helped me out so much on what money I have left so that left over money would go for my challenges and my vacation challenged
So we started using YNAB for budgeting about 6 months ago and run everything online (cant even explain how amazing that is working - our bank account went from getting overdrawn every couple months to now sits at 5 figures consistently and we have paid off significant consumer debt). I actually just set up the 100 envelope challenge in YNAB and we pick two numbers randomly every time we get paid - so it will take a little longer but I also add in numbers when there is a windfall. I just don't deal with cash so physically doing cash and envelopes meant I just didn't do it. I want to do this again next year and hopefully we can do more numbers each paycheck, so do it faster, since we will have more debt paid off or even do the 200 envelope challenge. The plan is the funds will go to our emergency fund. Great advice.
Just do 110 and that will get you an extra grand in 10 days. And maybe he'll see it's a little harder to do the bigger money, and if it's successful, then you can keep going!
I high key would recommend a safe to put the envelopes in . I’m doing it now but only thing is I’m not doing 100 envelopes it’s less. But if you place your envelopes there it’s out of sight, out of mind. That’s best the option for me.
I love this challenge! I took a year, work on it once a week not so painful. So weather do it fast or slow, can still save. Paid a big bill. Gonna do it again faster. Vacation here I come lol!
I’m very happy to have come across this video. I am closer to retirement than not and have a six figure student loan. This method (and your “twist”) inspires me. So yes, I will be giving this a go. I feel that this is a great way to pay down this debt faster. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

my husband earns commissions, so when he got paid yesterday, we just started yesterday. filled up 25 envelopes with the same denomination in each envelope! cant wait for the next commission check to fill up the next set of envelopes and cant wait to reach 100!!!
I just recently started doing something similar to this. The only difference is I did 52 envelopes and did them over a year. Next year in January, I will do 104 envelopes for each weekend day. The money I save will go into an emergency fund.
Great idea man, wish I still had a job with cash tips! I will still try this after paying off my credit card. You just inspired me to make another unscheduled payment right now!
I always wanted to do this challenge but I’m not a cash spender nor work in an industry that would pay cash so it would be a hassle to go to the ATM everyday. But I do love your idea of just paying off the card everyday!
Looked at other saving plans on you tube and I love it. Shared with my son n daughter. Starting today. I love idea getting big numbers out of way whenever possible n doing smaller numbers on days when have less. Thank you.
We do something similar in my culture too but it’s called “tanda” and it is better because you can get an advance. You come up with an amount to give to the ‘holder’ each payday, for how long, and then recruit as many people as possible to participate. People draw a number which determines the order of each person getting the “pot” each paycheck.
Yes, I will be doing the challenge. But I’m going to start by tripling the challenge. So for example first day three dollars, second day six dollars and so on and so forth 💴 by the way I love your pay off debt idea.
I will be doing the 100 envelopes but I'm 50/50...so numbered 1-50 two times for a total of 100 envelopes due to being on Low Income.. excited to see the progress this year 😀😀😀
Tommy thank you for this information. I will start it this weekend. You are so right if there is no plan I end up spending the money. I will also check out your other videos. Thanks a bunch.
What do you think about the checklists that let you choose the amount for the day? End goal is the same but each day you pick a random # and save that. So if you only have $2 on day 30 and haven’t crossed that off, it’s what you save.
Love this! I was wondering if this 100 envelope concept could be done with trying to get healthier by walking so that you can enjoy whatever you are saving for?
Absolutely.Walk 20 minutes the first day, then keep adding 2 mins. 1500 mins(25 hrs) in 30 days .At whichever point it will be enough then you can repeat from 20 or maintain. You get very fit doing this.
Hi jus came across your video and so happy I did. Going to start this asap, and if in my budget gonna do it for each of my grandkids too, Thanks so much for a kick start on saving. GOD BLESS YOU FOR SHARING GOOD INFORMATION TO THE PEOPLE.

If so, maybe you don't need investment advice. However, if you are busy with work, children, or other responsibilities, or if you feel that you are not knowledgeable enough to invest on your own, seek professional investment advice.

Speaking of financial freedom, I've been thinking about it a lot and the best option is to invest more because I don't think you can get very far depending on a single source of income. Investing can be intimidating for many people because there are so many options and it can be difficult to determine which investments are the right ones. I would like a recommendation if you have any?
>I learnt most of these principles about seven years ago. A lot of people have been trapped strongly in the matrix-- Go to school, get a job, and then slave your whole life. Many miss out on life-changing information that could have great effect on their finances. I played with the stock market sometime in 2020, and I was surprised at how well it turned out. I want to put in $80k more into the market. I heard people are making really great returns despite the downturn. Any recommendations??? 🙏

The plan is the funds will go to our emergency fund. Great advice.
Great idea
I am going to use this to pay my car off in no Time!
Another great video Tommy👍🏽
Thx your video is so easy to understand- i watched so many videos for half the day and yours I got right away 🙏🏼💛
Awesome !! That’s the goal
I started this challenge on Saturday. My husband wants to do 10k in 100 days but I told him we need to first build the habit.
Step by step
Just do 110 and that will get you an extra grand in 10 days. And maybe he'll see it's a little harder to do the bigger money, and if it's successful, then you can keep going!
@@calliew311 Oh snap, I didn't even thing about that.
141 days is 10000
it can be done
Thanks!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
almost retired and still paying student loan? Sounds like your college education was a waste of time.
@@temujinkhan6326 many GenXers were able to start careers without degrees and then in our early 30’s were told we needed them to do the same jobs we’d done a decade or more without them. And if employers didn’t provide tuition assistance or you didn’t want to commit the next 5 years to them, you almost had to take out loans. 🤷🏻♀️
@@temujinkhan6326 sounds like you’ve been living under a rock. The commenter’s situation is extremely common.
omg i am in the same boat. as soon as we complete the first 100 day challenge we are gonna tackle my student debt that is also six figures!!!
my husband earns commissions, so when he got paid yesterday, we just started yesterday. filled up 25 envelopes with the same denomination in each envelope! cant wait for the next commission check to fill up the next set of envelopes and cant wait to reach 100!!!
I’m going to start writing my envelopes out today!! Thank you 🙏🏽
I am so happy I found your channel. I am goin to do the 100 days challenge. I am not very consistent with my savings habits.
I just recently started doing something similar to this. The only difference is I did 52 envelopes and did them over a year. Next year in January, I will do 104 envelopes for each weekend day. The money I save will go into an emergency fund.
It took you a year to do just 50 envelopes 😮!!!
This is the best video explaining this process. I'm going to talk to my SO in order for us to do this together. 😁Fantastic video
Awesome and thank you 🙏
By far the best explanation of this challenge that I found so far. Great job!
In méxico growing up I think they call this. La tanda. I never understood it. But now I’m in awe.
I like that this is a practical challenge. People can start with whatever number also so this is cool.
Even better 😎 the easier the better
Add up what u need for week and get when you go to atm n put in envelopes.
Looked at other saving plans on you tube and I love it. Shared with my son n daughter. Starting today. I love idea getting big numbers out of way whenever possible n doing smaller numbers on days when have less. Thank you.
Bank transfers or a savings account
Some jobs credit union offer banking accounts that automatically can take a certain amount out your check weekly
Im going to try this out this week.! Wish me luck 🤞🏽🍀
Let’s goooo
Definitely will be doing this challenge in 2022!
Just started today
I love it ....I'll try this..I'm doing this as soon as I get paid
I wanna do this to contribute into my sinking funds and high-yield savings! This will help tremendously💃🏿
Let’s goooooo
We do something similar in my culture too but it’s called “tanda” and it is better because you can get an advance. You come up with an amount to give to the ‘holder’ each payday, for how long, and then recruit as many people as possible to participate. People draw a number which determines the order of each person getting the “pot” each paycheck.
I love this I’m gonna start oct.
Bro we starting together
Hows it goong rn??
New subscriber. Can't wait to start my saving challenge. Love the video
Ty for explaining this this challenge to me. I appreciate it
Got you 😎
I will be doing this! Nice start to a new year. Thank you.
😎
Yes, I will be doing the challenge. But I’m going to start by tripling the challenge. So for example first day three dollars, second day six dollars and so on and so forth 💴 by the way I love your pay off debt idea.
Start slow and build up would be my advice
I'm gonna do it! Thank you for the motivation.. I'm doing it with your twists too.
I will be doing the 100 envelopes but I'm 50/50...so numbered 1-50 two times for a total of 100 envelopes due to being on Low Income.. excited to see the progress this year 😀😀😀
Love this idea
I read that book too! So happy someone else’s life was impacted by the same book I bought at Walmart!
Im starting this week to clear of my debt thanks for the advice 🙏
Let’s get it
Tommy thank you for this information. I will start it this weekend. You are so right if there is no plan I end up spending the money. I will also check out your other videos. Thanks a bunch.
Got you 😎 and you got this
What do you think about the checklists that let you choose the amount for the day? End goal is the same but each day you pick a random # and save that. So if you only have $2 on day 30 and haven’t crossed that off, it’s what you save.
I would have never guessed you were Dominican bro. Thanks for the great idea and the system
Love this! I was wondering if this 100 envelope concept could be done with trying to get healthier by walking so that you can enjoy whatever you are saving for?
i am sure walking enhances anything you set out to do for yourself!
Absolutely.Walk 20 minutes the first day, then keep adding 2 mins. 1500 mins(25 hrs) in 30 days .At whichever point it will be enough then you can repeat from 20 or maintain. You get very fit doing this.
I love this, thank you. I saw that chart before and this process works.
I will start with 50 my Dominican Brother ! My mom and my grandmother play and also ran in San and I also play too.
Hi jus came across your video and so happy I did. Going to start this asap, and if in my budget gonna do it for each of my grandkids too, Thanks so much for a kick start on saving. GOD BLESS YOU FOR SHARING GOOD INFORMATION TO THE PEOPLE.
Excellent to fill larger envelopes first. I’ll do the challenge
Let’s goooo
@@TommyBryson Will do!
Yes I hope start this challenge as of next month what I plan on doing with the money is starting my vending machine business cant wait thanks for the insite on how to start 💸

Absolutely EXCELLENT VIDEO & GREAT ADVICE!! Trying the challenge , subbed & liked! 🙏🏽😄
Your twist on it is amazing!!!
>This is a very interesting and informative video.
Are you someone who reads as much as possible about potential investments and asks questions about them? If so, maybe you don't need investment advice. However, if you are busy with work, children, or other responsibilities, or if you feel that you are not knowledgeable enough to invest on your own, seek professional investment advice.

< To be successful, you must overcome your fears. Some people fear failure; others fear success. Many are afraid of making the wrong decision and do not make any. It's tempting to think that you can always start tomorrow, but the real failure is never having tried.>>
🙏
Thank you for sharing the wisdom!
Great idea bro but I work a normal job. Can't afford to put money in everyday it would be impossible. I'll try a mini version of the challenge.
Go at your own pace as long as you're saving
I am doing the challenge but with a period of 1 1/2 year 😊 That‘s maybe 1 envelope per week
@@lindataing9791 That sounds good.
Ram_Infinite Modify it and pull one per month. That's what I am doing. I get done when I get done lol.
@@lindataing9791 That’s the same thing I’m doing. The daily deposits are a bit too much. I am putting 100 dollars in my envelope weekly though.
I love the advice of what to do with money after you complete the challenge
I learned from my mistake of not having a purpose with the money
I’m doing the 200 envelope challenge every year! Thank you!
Let’s gooooooo
I absolutely want to start this challenge before the end of 2022. Once I start my new job I am going to start this challenge.
I'm gonna pay off debt. Then I'm gonna help my daughter get a leg up on her debt. It's gonna be a long three months. I go for my visit in May and it'll be nice to help her for mother's day. And Audessa if you're reading this, I love you🥰
Just make sure that she wants to be out of debt first and knows how to stay out of debt first, or it’ll be like fixing a leak with paper tape
@@TommyBryson Yes sir.
The point you made on having emergency envelopes like 1-5 was a great point, 10/10 great video
Appreciate you
New subster here!
Great advice, thanks!
Ayeee welcome
I'm going to give this a try. Sounds interesting and I've been looking around for advice on it. Your video has given me some good tips on how to do this so I appericate this video. Thanks a bunch
In my family culture in Grenada and Trinidad we call it SuSu but we do it weekly for example 25 for 6 months
My husband and I do 10-110 also. We also round up. If you pull envelope mark 51 round up to 55. If you pull envelope 21 round up to 25. Etc.. Good luck
I'm going to do this, 😊 at least 5,000 🤞 this is perfect 👍
Let’s gooooo
Great video fam! I'm geeked to start this challenge
Let’s goooo, and keep me updated
I’m afraid it will turn me into a frugal mule and be buying ramen just to be able to save 😂 I need to tho
Definitely going to do this challenge!
Thank you for this video! I wanted to figure out how to challenge myself and do I wait to pay on my debt or right away! At the same time, saving the emergency fund. Great job, you’re inspiring and I appreciate your guidance!!!
Awesome video bro. I am going to start today
