Problem is the Ball keeps bouncing back to the Attackers often, no matter how good you tackle.
Or they just glitch through you or shoot through the defender.
And in fifa23 this seems to be way worse than in the previous years.
Funnily enough it happens more often the higher the difficulty ur on.
It is frustrating. It is just like the attackers are members of your team. Like they don't even have to struggle to run to the ball. It simply comes straight to them.
Never use O to tackle. Use L2 and R3 in the right moment instead - makes the loose ball have a higher chance of not end up in a dangerous position.
It's annoying. The opposition get every break of the ball. Especially when they're winning

If the midfielders are behind the attackers, how would I fix that? My midfielders end up just standing around when the forwards get past them.
Defense is everything on the game in order to win matches as much as possible. If you don’t conced, eventually you end up scoring at least 1 goal most of the time. There are so many chances

Yeah but sometimes connection won’t let you pick the player on time and but the time you do their player is already making a run and the pass already on the way like you can’t intercept it or catch their striker cause of the delay

Im using tactics where my CAM Is going back to the defense And CDM So im basiclly defending in 7,8 with cms so oponent has no where to pass and i can intercept him easily

Good video ... 2 things though- do you jockey, sprint/jockey? and 2nd the gap you had in midfield when you said tactics were too offensive etc how would you fix that? I struggle all the time with that thing, instructions stay centre and stay back whilst attacking doesn't work, for me at least
He's said in another video he uses jockey more than sprint jockey, but other top players use sprint jockey more so a point of preference I guess. I tend to sprint jockey but wish I could break the habit as players seem to intercept more under regular jockey
Point 2, could be that your defensive line is too low if there's a big gap between defence and midfield? What depth do you play?
I do pretty much everything you say already in this video. I'm still unable to win a game without outscoring the enemy its ridiculous. I like playing career mode and playing slow realistic games but it's impossible to defend. People just run through you and if you ever try to tackle someone they just leap past you srsly this is the worst fifa I have ever played thank god I got it on sale for 15 quid...
what camera setting do you used?
I appreciate the video (and the effort), but these cases are too specific. Would have been interested to know general ideas (not 98 pace Mbappe vs Ramos), or some custom tactics, maybe even show what buttons to press on a controller. But GG nevertheless :)

Fifa is hard on ps5 YUp i used to smash people on fifa but it got hard from fifa 21 and since Ps5 came out fifa 21and 22 23 are even hard on ps4

The thing is when you’re playing against cpu it’s different. Your team is slow to react , the switching is not intelligent; instead of switching to a defender to defend it will switch to a midfielder when cpu is attacking and bad passes and sometimes your player even pass to cup or run away. What causes that?
Scripting. The game tries to make u give up on single player game modes so u will play ultimate team and spend money
You need to learn right click switching.

My issue is that people can just run into me, in front or from behind and get the ball, without pressing O and lunging, but if I press tackle, my player lunges in, and they just run around me. Also, how the hell can I push defenders off my attacker? I'm sick of sterling or something out muscling my maldini
I have been watching your vids on the low for a while now. im not exactly a bad player…pretty decent. been following your steps and everything in training and in game(online) but for some reason…i just cannot best these playing…ive been playing for months and i have 0 wins…imagine. i always try to keep a level head…and listen to music while playing..to keep calm..but somehow these players always find a way to score even when im 100 focus
They slip through my defense like butter…even when switching my players at the right time snd following your tips…dont get me wrong they are very good tips…but ive come to the realization that fifa just isnt my thing…i tried i tried and no reward

Ah yes def realistic when a player am not controlling just stands there looking at the striker pass by him and the defense leave a giant gap in the middle very fun

This is great when you face the AI, but players don’t pass the ball to already covered players, instead they will use skills and while you defenders cover someone else, your opponent just goes to the big opening and scores
I cant tell if im bad at defending or just need to change my tactics because every time I have a corner or free kick etc if i lose the ball (which I do a lot on corners) they easily go on the counter and score it happened today when I conceded like 3 chip shots over my keeper in one game because I lost the ball from a corner.
In custom tactics, set # of players in corners to 1
@@SinAngelic that really does it? Got the same problem like @tracekot my defenders are completely overrun and my players can't get behind.
@@RealSpike1986 if you find it hard to defend counter attacks and cannot score often from corners, then yes this will help you! Experiment and see what works best for you!
I personally have it on 3 and i do concede counter attack goals but i also score a good number of corners so i take the risk.

Tip 1 doesn't work. If I defend with midfielders then my opponent runs past me (because my players are slower than every other player) then is through on goal because my defenders are NOT in position. This is bar far the most frustrating FIFA which I do not understand. How do I tackle (why is my opponent always skipping through me)? How do I run (every player on every opposition is faster then all my players)? Shooting, I score 1 of 10 shots, my opponent scores 3 of 3. I simply do not understand this game. It's nothing like previous FIFA games I've played.

@earkhandy at the risk of jinxing myself, I seem to have improved a little now lol. Got myself in Div3 but float between there and Div4. Doesn't help that 90% of players are PSG and do the one-touch Mbappe then proceed to football rape me.

Fifa has always been cheesy as hell defending is much better in terms of what you can do but also if you face clever players they can have you out of position and it's much easier to punish players who don't get their positioning perfect in this year's game
I manually defend and the bounce back and all through the legs are stupid.

Great but how do i keep my composure when I'm playing a promotion match. I always lose it and give away goals.
Im new to FUT, but the best way I’ve built composure is by being confident and keep playing to get familiar with situations. When you know what’s going to happen/what you can do, you feel more calm and confident

How to def against winger? I struggle it alot when the opponent just use their wingef to get into my box?
Not much u can do i can say..BUT L1 double tap and hold can help u little bit when the opponent come down the wing and get in your box..but be careful coz your player may be will out of position and much easier for opponent get pass your defensive shape
Just got to hold your shape and not get pulled out of position,usually players do this by switching the ball to other side or having their full backs push up on the attack,this is where tracking the run is also vital as if you don't then it will be your fullback who is coming out to cover the ball carrier leading to space on your wing,positioning is critical

All I want is to win the ball when I win it not going back to my opponent every time I win it, that’s it period.
I struggle to defend is laggy gameplay. My players feel like they’re running in quicksand, and my opponent sprints past them
Go to settings and ensure your graphics are on medium or low. Should fix that issue

It's very strange why when defending, AI just stays silent, doesn't move much when the opponent opens space, to be honest, I have difficulty defending in Fifa 23, especially when AI stays silent looking at the opponent
The problem I'm having is my defenders won't even get close to the opponent. I have a player who is trying to approach the attacker, but he can't reach him because every player on my team is, for some reason, slower than every player on every team I play against. So I change player and upon changing they either stop before starting to move, creating space for the attacker, or they go the opposite direction. Or, of course, it switches to a completely different player and by the time I get the player I want, my opponent is through on goal at a speed which I cannot catch. The most frustrating Fifa I have ever played.
Defending in this game or generally in FIFA is tough, the game is there for attacking, but you can definitely improve. I personally prioritize attacking and just try to outscore my opponents.
That's because you have an input lag. Some players have it.. Some don't. I have never been able to figure out what makes it lag.. On defense when you accelerate it takes a while to really accelerate and the same on attack. Problem is on attack you can play slow and still score goals but on defense it's deadly..
My advice is try to select your defenders as little as possible and try to defend with your cdms

This looks very easy out and u get ball back every time,but with me is a way oposite ,my center backs are never in behinde the oponent,he is passing the into my penalty area and no defender of me is to find, i get so many dstupid goals because EA is switching my players and dong exactly oposite of that i want...
Oponenet is going through my players is no way to defende my self,my players are always far from the ball and oponents attackers ...I am not so good player but i have lost many matches from people who are not playing better then me but EA fix everything, I get golas from 40 meteres and i have Yashin on goal, I feel that its nothing i can do when EA decides that i will lose.
Does anybody have a logic explanation or tell me what wrong I am doing?

The problem is that you think it's a football game but it really isn't.. It's just about who has the quickest fingers and knows the weakness of AI to win.. In other words, if you want to win, you need to become a robot. Enjoying yourself won't work in fifa

Why is it then my AI are useless but then I play people who’s ai never make mistakes and my attacking ai stop making the runs they usually make?
Simple, it’s DDA, certain expensive players make your players play worse and before the “you’re just had comments come in” I finish 18-2 and have finished elite since 21, this game just sucks.
I could agree the game is scripted but EA has got nothing to do when it comes to how you defend in the game. I could recommend using 2nd man press defending it has helped me a lot in to stop conceding goals
@@xvm23 I finish 18-2 / 17-3 most weeks, im not trying to sound arrogant but I know most of the mechanics. My issue is the game plays different in each game and your runs that would usually get made just don’t happen, even when you trigger them they’re slow. It feels cheap and like it is DDA for sure.

It's not the tactics. The AI midfield is broken. The gaps are so wide from midfield to defense, even if you are using CDMs. Makes the game not fun. Easy to score 4-5-6 goals a half, and let in just as many.
You basically don’t tell us how u are doing it at all. You’re explaining a lot but we still don’t know what settings you’re using which button you’re using and exactly … what do u mean by Let the AI do it ? How do u enable the AI help ?

@@jbliggidy123 What annoys me the most is when controlling my defenders they refuse to block shots and through ball no matter how I position them. It's like they're afraid of the ball. But the Ai defenders block shots better than my keeper lol.
1:08 that back 5 is in the worst position they could be, way too close to the ball, way too much space between them and the penalty area. FIFA is a sport, but it's definitely not soccer.
See I’m starting to realise why fifa 23 is broken. You have to be a good or even great chess player to make the right move to defend where attacking is much easier. I made it to 1st division but this has been the worst experience. Following all the tips in the video but having Mbappe do 3:18 where u have to do is a semi decent through ball and it’s almost a certain goal. That and player speeds in certain occasions. Will have to wait for EA FC loooool
These tutorials are bollocks mate if the game wants the opponent to score there’s no way to stop it. It literally makes one persons team feel useless so they can score it stops u playing literally
I remember in fifa 21 u could jockey and line a tackle up sort of lock it in and tackle and move away with the ball in a smooth motion this is just not possible in this game. And the passing is atrocious. High rated cards with high rated passing stats can’t make a 12 yard pass through a huge gap it just gets intercepted by the opponents ai. It’s so frustrating the way this game stops you from playing
The higher the difficulty the more errors you do. Wtf is that logic. Man EA really knows how get people raging and breaking controllers.

Once again, another FIFA in which it is recommended to heavily AI defend. Players park the bus and AI defend, it’s been that way for years and kills the fun. I’m not blaming the maker of this video because he’s right.

Does fifa sometimes just go against you no matter what you do? I'm far from being the best but generally can play. Last week I qualified for the FUT champions league, hardly won but OK. This week...
