Like the review. I bought the original set in 2004, can't remember how much I paid (probably around £60 - £80). There is a couple of differences, the disc labels go all the way to the centre hole and Live in Japan comes in a rounded edged box (like Memory Almost Full) the reason this disc may have been manufactured in a different country is that it is a CD/SACD hybrid and plays in surround sound. I would mark the set down slightly as it is missing at least one music video Blow Away.
Hi Rockboy, The Live in Japan Discs you have are SACD - Super Audio CD - Dual layer - which means you can play it as stereo in a cd player or in 5.1 multi channel if you have a SACD player and the multi channel receiver and speaker set up to play it that way. You might notice the back of the cd is kind of gold sheen instead of silver.
Also...sorry to be negative but where are the missing four tracks from Somewhere In England...only Tears of The World is here...on the wrong album! What about Lay His Head, Flying Hour and Sat Singing?? Surely a deluxe box should contain such material!

A nice box but short on bonus material and on the DVD where are the videos for Blow Away and True Love?? Seems inexplicable that these were left off. Plus the 1991 live material is limited to a few tracks although I assume they have videos for all the tracks on the Live In Japan album.
I didn't relise it was missing that. I'm not fussed about the bonus songs. I'll just get them of youtube. It's a shame it doesn't have the bonus music vids. Take care
With one hand over the opening, tilt the box with your other hand towards the floor. Let the cases slide forward so you can stop them with the hand at the opening and then use a finger to push the other cases that you don't need back in the case while grabbing the one you do want. I typed too soon, but with a little adding details. I don't like remasters. I had to get the original issues cause the remasters where not up to quality or sound that they should be. The only one that does a good job is Ted Jenson who did Billy Joel and Eagles albums. Cloud 9 is missing Lay His Head. It should have been on the original release and they didn't even include it on the remastered release. I had to get the mini cd single from Japan or China just to have it on a cd format other than the 45 of Got My Mind Set On You...so i can optically copy it to a blank md and place it where i think it should be on Side 2 of the album. I think that cd should be a shade of blue or grey than purple. I don't fingerprint my cds, lps (etc.) at all.
Hi, cool boxset. I may consider getting this one day. The two I'd really like are Live In Japan and 33 and 1/3. I would have been nice to have included Brainwashed in the boxset which now seems like an odd-end in georges catalouge. Take care mate.
Thanks mate. I would recommend it and the apple one. The apple one is nearly sold apparently so I would say get that one first. I understand why brainwashed wasn't in there because all the albums that are in there have been remastered and brainwashed had on,y been out 2 years so it might have seemed a bit silly to have that one in there. I prefer the 1991 CDs over the remasters good luck finding them they aren’t an easy find got them when they first came out.
