He makes the game so much fun to watch. Thanks for these early clips. ☘️ Larry Legend. The fans coming to know him and show their appreciation for what he was bringing.
That shot of Bird & Maravich together was a classic. Pete told Larry "You don't need to take all those tough shots vs. double-teams". Larry told him "I wouldn't be facing all those double-teams if you played better". Larry Legend 😂
Larry and Magic truly revolutionized the game as far as I can see it, basbetball's wild-natural potential was already getting a little bit low but it was still a game (!), not yet a show (MJ+ era) or something complicated and highly interesting (Curry/Jokic+ era) (with the 2000s as a transitional classically postmodern phase, with every aspect presented here and there from time to time simultaneously) but yes, a game, which could be played in innovative and rarely implemented ways - and that drive was fulfilled by these guys and for me, Bird is the best basketball _player_ ever)
This was a video about Bird's rookie season; so why at the start you do you show a team picture of his second season? Answer, you wanted to show McKale and Parish. In truth Parish and McKale did not make the Celtics an iota better but Bird made their careers.
"Correction" McHale / Parish made the team better after Larry lined them out. Larry had to teach every player how to play his way. Then they became great assets.
@@andybilakshow260 it was his brother Eddie who was suppose to do their mother's driveway but he didn't want to do it so Larry went ahead and did it and ended up hurting his back, fucking Eddie!
The greatest player in the history of the game.
Such an awesome video!! I haven't seen many of these clips!! I'll pass it around!! Love the Top Gun music!🥰

Thank you so much.
great clip. Thanks
Some of these clips, like the one with Detroit and the one against Cleveland are after the 1979-80 season.
LARRY BIRD THE GREATEST!
Not a rookie team photo. Chief and McHale weren’t on Birds rookie squad.
0:44 For those who say that Larry Bird can't jump...
Nice

Larry, foe keen GOAT!
the Celtics photo with Parish and McHale was his 2nd season not rookie season.

Parish was a star in Golden State. That’s why Boston was willing to give up #1pick in draft to get him. The 3rd pick was small part of the trade.
@@johnburris7711He was happy to be traded.
"Stay classy, San Diego" 😜
Larry (broken back ).bird
The gravel company should have denied Larry that load of gravel.
Gravel isn't an easy thing to shovel you know..🤔

Broken back and bad legs too!
And had an irregular heartbeat, wasn't detected til after he retired
@@andybilakshow260A triple laminectomy and about 4 million injections lead me to agree .
Larry Bird is the real GOAT.
Not Jordan.
In all honesty Larry was NEVER a rookie
That team photo is not 1980.
Seems as if meinos knows nothing about basketball
