I am a Californian with an English last name. However... my mother's mother's father's mother's father was a McKendrick. Far as I have been able to research, they were the McKendrick's of Clan Henderson who where the bagpippers to the MacDonald's of Glencoe. If so, I'm DAMN PROUD of it! More proud of that fraction of genetic association than even my own paternal last name, to be frank. There's two stones I would like to visit before an laid to rest with my own. The Blarney Stone to honor my mother's father's ancestry... And the Henderson Stone to honor my mother's mother's ancestry. Our history runs through our veins. It whispers the truths of our ancient past.

As someone with McDonald blood in them and growing up hearing about this story, it’s very interesting to see a song. I thought all along it was just this little family tale, not a historical event
