This song, and Olivia Records, and Meg Christian, Maggie Adams & Chris Williamson have shaped my life & my activism as an eco-feminist, a two-spirited woman reclaiming my indigeneity, a parent, musician & a biodynamic permaculture local food sovereignty gardener & educator. Thank you for posting. Thank you to all the artists!
Meg Christian stands as one of the best songwriters to have ever walked this earth. Almost 40 years since I first heard it this song still brings tears to my eyes and hope to my heart. And the purely musical nuances, the guitar work, her voice. Just sublime.
Still relevant in 2024. This remains my favorite song from the 70s women's music scene--I came of age with the music of Meg, Holly, Cris, and the rest.
Listening to this song brought up so much emotion for me! Meg's rich and heartfelt voice and songs have stayed with me from the first time I heard her sing in Santa Barbara CA @ 35 years ago! Thank you Meg, and please know your enduring influence...
I so needed to hear this again after this week the Absolutely UnSupreme Court struck down Roe v Wade and so many rocks are rolling in every where ... I pray we who were there before and all those who have flowed into the stream can wear away the stone again.
Thanks so much for posting this! so enjoying these songs that I haven't heard in years. My sister turned me on to this album when I was only 11 or 12 years old. This song didn't mean that much to me back then, but it means so much now. Almost crying from it's beauty.
Thank you so much for posting this. I have loved this song for almost thirty years - can it possibly be that long? - and wanted to share it with a young friend. You made that possible.
Glad you are doing well. Sorry it took so long to see your reply! I'm still playing Meg's music. Take care. -Donna (Cris Williamson has a new CD comng out soon. She's still one of my Favorites!)
I'm still here... and still listening to Meg's Beautiful Music

This chorus has gotten me through a lifetime of activism and held my hand while I was imprisoned. Thank you, Meg!
Brave woman.
I'm 71 and my heart and soul are moved today as when I first heard you in Berekely CA. Thank you Meg.
I just turned 65. I had just come out. Saw her in NY with the love of my life. Magical time.
Meg, Thank you for the music ! Your 'Ode to a gym teacher' made life so much sweeter.
