I remember waking up in 2011 waiting for yall to drop knowledge on some hoop kicks. I modeled my shooting and dribbling after Tre and my attacking and mid range from you Jay. For me it started with the KD 4 and I’ve been here ever since. Keep grinding and thru the adversity, keep your head high. Love from an OG fan 💯

Nostalgia hitting strong, I remember the Kobe 8 performance test and Nike elite series performance tests way back then with KG! Unfortunately I gotta resort to reps if I want to hoop in the Kobe 8 😅. Real question though, Kobe 6 protro or Kobe 8?
Ngl that’s a tough one. The protro 6 was perfect shoe for me personally, but I got too many memories with the Kobe 8s. I would give the slight edge to the Protro

These were my favorite hoop shoes ever. I'm glad they're protroing them. Early pics of the protro's also looks like they made improvements, specifically to the tongue. It looks to be a padded tongue now, instead of just the thin fuse tongue back then.

@@D3L3T3 nope I have 3 pairs of Kobe 8s and the Kobe 9 was definitely an improvement. Kobe 9 is probably greatest traction of all time. I would take Kobe 9 low elite or engineered mesh over Kobe 8.

Closest interms of looks, performance to a kobe. Copping as much colorways I can. Vanessa renewed the contract but with the resale market you can't get pair for retail or a reasonable price. That's why I'm going ham on these 20s.

Wondering if you notice if the pythons were heavier than the other originals? I’m trying to buy some used ones to hoop in but the balance scale showing it’s heavier than the other originals
Serious Player One shoes is the closest things to the Kobe8/9s got them in today and tested run them. Feels exactly the same. The default midsoles will fit in the Kobe8s but the support midsole will not.
Ok I legit stopped at the python colorway I said please don’t let this man switch into another colorway of my favorite shoe, and then he switches to my favorite joints, the pythons 🐍. It was at this moment I had realized that I was going to hate on this man not because it’s in my nature to hate but because I only have two colorways of the Kobe 8 systems. Yes I am ashamed to say I was going to hate on him so hard until he knew what it was like to own only two pairs of my favorite shoe. As a great character from one of the funniest shows ever to be aired name thug nasty would say “I’ll hate on ***** until he ain’t got S*** just like me”

I loved hooping in the Kobe 8s back in the day...I did tear my ACL in them though and that was probably partially due to the lunar bottoming out. Could have also happened in any shoe though, was just something I noticed afterwards, pretty big dents in the toe areas
