- The Moza R9 is a small little thing. Price is right. The performance is okay too. Has issues. Such is life.

Thumbnail is too stupid but had too much fun making it. Sorry.
So, would you get one!?
If I hadn't jumped to get the CSL DD, then I'd totally consider it. I think I understood that it run any wheel with that QR system, is that right? i.e. a wheel with USB buttons?
For sure. Still have my CSW v2.5 and I can't justify it though. Hardly have time to sim race anyway. Want to get a rig first but the missus doesn't like the idea.
I'm considering it as my first DD wheel, I'm between this and the Alpha Mini... As of now I'm also considering the Fanatec LC pedals, so looking forward to your review of Moza's offering there (:
Definitely, I’m in Asia and the price of csl dd is crazy, I think it’s because of shipping and tax , for the csl dd with the power upgrade i could get moza r9 , wheels and pedals
Just ordered mine yesterday😋
I'm looking forward for Moza to have a few more years under their belt to smooth out some of their problems, but they look like a company who are really working towards being part of the sim racing mainstream. That GS wheel does look insanely good!
I love that you make us know from the start that you having an affiliate link may skew your review. I hate when other reviewers make it seem like they’re completely objective when they get kickbacks from companies.
I just got the R9 and the CS wheel. Although the wheel is larger than I’m used to, I’m more than happy with my purchase. The reasons I chose Moza over Fanatec were the QR system, and availability and delivery, especially now the UK is out of CU and SM. I did get burned last year with additional charges when I got my V3 pedals from Fanatec.
Gary did you order them in the UK?
@@conuk35 Yes through Abruzzi racewear
Additional charges? Import taxes and shipping. That's what you paid. It's not hard. And yea thank brexit for that. On my v3 inverted I paid 110£ in import taxes.
@@bikerboy3k and another £70 cash to the courier to release the goods at the doorstep. This has become common practice now since Brexit. A lot of people have been stung by these additional charges, that are not invoiced. When did you purchase your Fanatec equipment? If it was prior to 2021 we were still in the customs union, and these extra levies weren’t applied. They came in from 2021. I was fully aware of shipping costs, they were invoiced, but the cash charge at the doorstep was where I was stung.
Oh by the way, the courier presented an invoice from his company and said I could pay by card over the phone, but this invoice was not included as part of the original purchase. So to avoid falling into a similar trap, I won’t be purchasing until we’re back in the SM and CU again.
Hi Gary. Do you race on acc. I have an r9 and having trouble with settings
Amazing job, as always!!
Glad to see you digging AMS2. Nice review of the wheel I will think about it when I get a new one!
came for the Moza
Stayed for the Dream Theater shirt :D
I was going to press like because it's a random callsign video. But now i'm pressing like even harder because of the Dream Theater shirt. Great taste
I see you’re still rocking the dream theatre shirt 😎🤘🏻
I think the next battleground in sim racing gear is going to be in bespoke software to improve user experience. Stuff like Fanalb can make a difference if fanatec releases enough freedom to add effects as we like based on in game telemetry.
great honest review, thanks. the end cuts out a bit early FYI - best combo for what?
bests combos for iracing. no ideia why it cut!
I love it, everyone jumps on the CSL DD hype train. And no one wants to look at the Moza. Now the Moza is making waves every “reviewer” is drooling to get their hands on it to jump on the new hype train of the Moza wheels.
Still weighing up my options as to which wheel I want to get so came back to this. Travolta under the monitor fucking sent me, the early cut was perfect

Hi, any chance you will review Cammus DD Wheelbase? Is on sale at the moment, 15Nm Wheelbase just for 500 $ at the moment, first price was 900$ and free shipping at least to Germany 😎
Thx for the review. Did you have a chance to retry R16 after the software updates?
No. I sent the wheel back. The r9 will also be sent back after I'm done with it.
I really wish I wasn't burned by Fanatec and their DD 0.5. If R9 was available half a year ago, I would buy it, especially because of GS wheel. It looks so much better than Fanatec Formula (which is also very small for my hands), has all the buttons and functions and more. Moza really did good with R9 and software. Reminds me of Simagic in the beginning. Their software was crap but they improved so much it's like a different wheelbase. I guess/hope it will be the same with R9.
Consider adding chunky pineapple grips to your formula wheel if it feels too small for your hands.
I tried both, no paragon, bought moza
Hey nice review! Ive heard from different places that if you have a DD wheel base you dont need IRFFB, but you say that you use it with moza r9 is the only base that you do this or do you use it with CSL dd, or your dd1 ?
Use it and see the difference
@@randomcallsign I will . I have CSL DD ( 8 newton ) i have already tried in the past but cant really know which options to chose and what values to apply for Gt3 in iracing. and with Vjoy? or without ?
I know that this is somehow user preference but i would like to have some starting point and to understand if you still need to use vjoy.
If they get the ps license and make it compatible, I’ll sell the fanatec and buy this one
Nice vidéo thanks 👍🏼its possible to send me your settings for iracing and R9 please ?
Me, watching this in brazil realising a "budget" dd with a wheel and pedals is at least 7x our minium monthly wage... My g29 will have to last
The video cut off on the last word.
"And it's also one of the best combos for--"
You messing with us?
its for iracing. for some reason the video cut there.
Ay, sick shirt
Unless companies start shipping these direct drives for both console and pc compatibility, fanatec aren't in any bother. Moza have done really well with this unit as a unit it's self, good price, good quality, compact. But fanatec ship with console pc/compatability plus wheel and pedal set so you can enjoy it out the box.
Still people who want dd on consoles?lame
Have one ordrered here in NZ, can't even buy Fanatec here so easy choice!
My new R5 is a BEAST! Running @57% strength, it's more than enuff! Don';t believe anyone that says the R5 is weak! They are just promoting the more $$$ DD...why pay for a 500 bhp car when you only drive 80 mph????
Got the r9 with the gs wheel very happy with it coming from the tm ts xw
Did it feel like a big upgrade. I have the tsxw and torn whether to spend the money or not
@@loganwhite6173 I would u won’t regret it .
There so much more detail in the wheel .
In saying that the ts xw is a very good belt driven wheel too depends on the budget and if u can sneak it past wifey lol
The Dream Theater T-Shirt Is back
Y u no petrucci
Moza needs more wheel rims I would say
You have every 6x70mm wheel on the market to choose from
System and game compatibility, more options for wheels, pedals and shifters then maybe they can cut into Fanatec/Thrustmaster/Logitech a little. That's gonna take years.
Are you going to review their entry level pedals as well?
Eventually if they send it. I've requested it
@@randomcallsign If you will, please, get the Accessory Kit for them as general consensus is that default brake spring is too soft.
I would get one if I had the money.
The R9 ist very interesting for but the prive for the wheel is to high. Is there any option to add a Fanatec Clubsport or other cheaper wheel?
There's CS wheel (round) or ES wheel (which is actually comes with the R5, but has since been sold separately) with Formula Wheel mod
Can I used the Moza r9 for my xboxseriesX using a drivehub?
seriously if only fanatec would take a leaf out of this QR book... They never will, but what a game changer that would be.
They need a Playstation wheel bas
Let us know whe they will ship this wheel in normal prices. 150Eur for shipment? Does it weight 500 kg?
@ 11:44 - You're talking about how great the wheel is with iRacing, yet it's not calibrated 1:1. The in game wheel is turned past 90 degrees but the real hands are not.
Us console guys would like someone else besides Fanatec to make DD for our consoles
Would it be more quiet then a belt driven wheel while drifting
Any dd wheel is
@@randomcallsign thankyou
Dream Theater 🤘🤘🤘🤘
still find simagic alpha mini a better base
there are too many videos on csl vs moza.. people want to compare the moza r9 vs Alpha mini...
From what I can tell, the Simagic Alpha mini is better in terms of FFB, but more expensive too.
When you mention affiliate do you want to say that you are not 100% honest or something?
im showing possible conflicts of interest as it mandated by US and UK law and as should be done by everyone.
Console
Console
Console
You don’t go back to console once you play on pc
the white color on moza i think its purposely for female user, as we know theres many of white edition of PC peripheral. thats nice, since theres only black and chrome/steel looks on rig component, then white might be cute or cool as well.
I have a white rig, so a white base would look great
@@randomcallsign wow thats cool
I got the white R9. Not for any particular reason other than I just liked the colors and it looks super clean. It doesn't match my all black everything on my gaming rig and peripherals, but I does catch the eye when my friends have looked at it
Waste of money this wheel, it’s only 9nm for the first 15min after drops to like 2.5nm
i dont want anything from this company
I hate gear reviews I hate gear revies I hate gear revews
Well, I like doing them
everyone seems to be reviewing this...lol cheap chinese knockoff of a fanatec...pass
Sim racing garage gave it a thorough review. It passed with a few minor problems. Fanatec products aren’t without problems.
Fanatec products are also made in China lol
@@mArvAlcao71 everything is. The issue is the company making a knockoff. Not the same quality,.not the same standard. Everyone it's like Winwing in the flight sim community...everyone was a fan until the equipment started falling apart after a few months
@@hellsummon I don't think products from the Chinese companies like Simagic or Moza (this one) are knockoffs. Like this R9, it looks similiar, but not same, and it has features which isn't avaliable in some western products in similiar price tag.
And honestly, the things about "Oh, it's Chinese product, it should break after few monts" are getting old tbh.
Moza caught my attention precisely because it seens more robust than fanatec, especially the quick release
