*MUST READ* Number six in this video apears to be out of proportion and I did not realise. the arrow head shape MUST join in the centre of the circle not just anywhere. please note that the angle at the CENTRE of the circle is double that at the tip of the arrow. in the video it is slightly below the centre of the circle.
I know right? I feel like they just try to squeeze in at least 6 topics in one sitting and not even giving the power points afterwards which kinda feels really confusing.
To all the people having exam tomorrow and are here for last minute studies BEST OF LUCK! Edit:Thanks for the likes, I hope everybody scores their highest marks
Also, for 1:47 , it doesn't have to be an arrow shape. It's just that all angles from the centre of the circle will ALWAYS be twice (2x) the angle at the circumference, as long as they are subtended by the same arc. The angle at the circumference can move around the circumference, making shapes that don't have names.
I just learnt all the theorems in 4 minutes and 10 seconds and was able to answer the final question correctly. This is a really good video lmao way better than any of my teachers could've done
Honestly wasn't gonna see this simply because I thought this was one of those videos teaching impossible things in just 5 mins. I was, however, mind-blowned. I got the whole jist of the chapter. All I need now is to read my textbook and do questions just to see how much I got it. Amazing work, thanks!
haha thank you all, i will not add music next time! (spoiler, starting my channel up again after college as am working really hard on that and have hardly any time for making videos!!)
For that question at the end, there is a much quicker way to do it. A= (180-70) / 2 = 55 degrees Therefore, D = 55 degrees because of alternate segment theorem Correct me if I'm wrong :3
kdenorange you still get full marks as long as your answer is correct then the examiners don’t care how you worked it out but if your answer is incorrect, then that’s when your working out comes into play for the marks
Me: ok this is three minutes long surely I can concentrate. Also me vining to the music: DE DE DE DA DA DA DO DO DO DOO DO DO DA DE DE DE DA DA DO DO DO
Here's one more little tip: in the last question, the quadrilateral ABC and the 70° point make up a cyclic quadrilateral (proof left as an exercise) so C is 180° - 70° = 110°. Then you can proceed as in the video to get D = 110° / 2 = 55°.
Actually I used a completely different method: Let the intersection of the tangents be point P, and the points where the circle touches the tangents be Q and R. Then PQ=PR, so triangle PQR is an isosceles triangle.
the literal definition of a cyclic quadrilateral is "a cyclic quadrilateral is a quadrilateral whose vertices all lie on a single circle." here angle 70 degree lies outside the circle, so this is not the right method of doing this sum.
@@AD-il9zs That is a correct definition, but your argument is incorrect. Property of cyclic quadrilateral: A quadrilateral is cyclic iff opposite angles sum to 180°
That Nerd really apreciate it, thank you! will do next time (which will be soon) (ish) been slow at making videos due to college but will do them when i can!!
For those who didn't understand.. tangents: Tangents touching the circle are equal so ... angle A and other angle is equal since it forms isosceles angle (if 2 sides are equal then the angle opposite to sides are equal.) Step 1: 2x+70= 180....x= 55 Step2 : tangent touching the circle forms 90° so 55°+interior angle B = 90 So interior angle B is 35° Step3 : line BC and AC are radius so it will same or equal ... again it forms isosceles triangle so Interior angle B and interior angle A will 35° ...so angle C will be 110° Step 4 : Angle D will b half of Angle C so D will be 55° (Angle subtended by arc and Central Angle theorem....shown in the video)
I don't know how to thank you. I had completely forgotten about the chapter. And you revived my memory. Instead of turning pages and watching long videos, this had really helped me . You deserve more likes and subscribers.😃
You can also solve using this 70° + angle C = 180. A theorem We get angle C = 110° Now angle subtended by a arc at centre is double the angle subtended by it at any point on circle Angle C = 2angle D Angle D = 110÷2 = 55°
@@rajipadmapati it's not actually a theorem but we can see ACBX make a quad then apply that sum all angles in a quad is 360 as 2 angles are 90° (tangent perpendicular to radius ) ,, hence
I understood everything but the question. I had to watch it 3 times. I would make it a lot easier if you can say which letter's degrees you're calculating
Great work there mate! I have my O level Mathematics exam in some time and this video really helped me revise the circle theorems in 3 minutes! Keep up the good work! :)
A + B + 70 = 180 (Sum of angl...) A + B = 180 - 70 = 110 A = B (Equal lengths of the 2 sides = Isosceles therefore base angles are equal, 110/2 = 55 each) A = D = 55 (Tan chord theorem OR theorem 9 in the video)

2:54 as two angles between the tangent makes 70 °so the angle between radius ie angle C=180°-70°= 110°. Now as it is the angle subtended by the arcs at centre,so angle D= C/2 = 55 °
By the way the length A B and A C were put in the wrong place when i rendered the video. Length A B and A C are meant to be from the start of the tangent to where it hits the circle, not at the end of the tangent because that line will go on for forever if it could!
Ps. To the question at the end, there's a much simpler less painful method Instead of using circle theorems to find angle C, then using the angles in an arrow rules, you can find the answer directly after you find angle A using (180 - 70)/2,. You can simply use the alternate segment theorem to see that A is the same as angle D, getting the answer of 55 degrees.

@@AD-tr6bf correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't A=C because of the alternate segment theorem? and then C=D because they are both subtended by the same chord?
Actually you can solve the final question with only two steps: 1) Angle A= (180-70)/2. (Isosceles) 2) Angle D = Angle A (Alternate segment theorem) That's it
I agree, this is probably the best way around it, in my head at the time I thought I would try and show this way to show lots of different theories that may people may find difficult in the exam. Looking back at it now it was the wrong decision, and may confuse people more! thank you for your feedback though, I have full intentions to remake this video for many reasons including the one you picked up.

@TURKEY(TÜRKİYE) Maybe he isn't Turkish?
Actually you can solve the final question with only two steps:
1) Angle A= (180-70)/2. (Isosceles)
2) Angle D = Angle A (Alternate segment theorem)
That's it
For D you could just simply use the alternate segment theorm
Not sure at all how I ended up here. Cool stuff. Just passing through & I subscribed.
In the last question you could have just used the alternate segment theorem which makes A = D instead of using that whole process of finding B and C.
I agree, this is probably the best way around it, in my head at the time I thought I would try and show this way to show lots of different theories that may people may find difficult in the exam. Looking back at it now it was the wrong decision, and may confuse people more! thank you for your feedback though, I have full intentions to remake this video for many reasons including the one you picked up.
no problem, keep up the quality videos ur really helping me for my math exam tmrw
good luck on your exams everyone
