2 in 5 plant species are threatened with extinction. Follow their journey from collection, to banking and then back out into the world.
We bank seeds in the Millennium Seed Bank at Wakehurst as an insurance policy for the future.
The rate of environmental change is happening so fast that it is not always possible to conserve plants within their threatened habitats. By banking, we're protecting them so that they can be germinated and reintroduced to the wild or used in research.
