I had the MR on it, it wasn’t great. Put Mick’s 2+ t and it’s way better. Put the Taylor Knox NVS twin on my future set up and looking forward to see if it goes like my other set up. I have 3 RNF 96’s in three constructions. Also went well with Captain special Twin plus.
This thing with a 2+1 didn’t work for me. But as a pure twin this thing is wild. I can snap hard lay into tight turns and I honestly didn’t believe a twin would let me surf this way. I probably won’t go back to a thruster again
Thanks for the comment, the RNF is a pretty stable and forgiving board in its stock dims / board feel. you could get away with a stock 6' 3 or 6' 4. Will be stable enough for you to paddle and catch waves but still perform and have maneuverability. If you're surfing a more consistent break with a little more power you can afford to go a little smaller .
Hey - nice review. I’m 183cm and around 82kg, confident surfer, standard fitness. What sort of dims would you recommend for this board? Keen for it to be manoeuvrable. Cheers!
@@joshkleinstuber1868 I am 1,92cm and 86kg and I am using a 5'10 35L stock dims, I usually ride on daily conditions DHD Phoenix 5'10 35L and for flat mushy 1-2 fot waves the Phoenix looks better but for anything bigger or powerfull than that the RNF96 is doing a better job
Love my RNF 96 and have only used the Mick Fanning thruster set. You caught me lol. I'll have to grab the MR 2+1 setup.

Which is your favorite construction and how is it going with the NVS Taylor Knox?

agreed, pure twin with True Ames TA set is perfect.
can also vouch that pure twin goes better
same I go for 2 keel fins .2 and 1 did not work for me aswell
This board is everything they claim it to be, although I haven't tried the MR 2+1 yet - Also, great review by Boardshop per usual !
Stoked! Thank you
Thanks for the review. MR California Twin, Lost RNF 96, CI G-Skate or Bobby Quad for a short mediterranean chest high point break?
Thanks. For the most versatile, you would go RNF 96 or Cali Twin. They are both perfect for that range.
This or Bobby Quad as a the better groveler?
Hi, great review!
What dimensions would you recommend for my size 6’3 110kg as a custom?
Thankyou

Which Futures fins would you recommend for this board that would be similar in size and shape to the FCS MR 2+1 setup?
Thasnk for the message! Great question. Go for the Futures Rasta twin plus trailer! They are amazing fins.

I know I am 8 months late but what did you go with? I'm around the same size as you and torn between the 5'7 and 5'8
