I agree there might be a slim chance to gain access to Apollo's knowlege in possible sequels. The information collected by the people at Zero Dawn was encoded into DNA in synthetic fossils. It was the only way to make it compact enough for storage in the underground bunkers and prevent it from degrading for centuries. As I understand it, apollo would scan these fossils as a way of retriving the data which was held in a pysical form. Faro deleted the software that could read and relay this data but he couldn't have desroyed the data itself. Basicly he desroyed the librarian but not the library. Anything that can be created by man can be re-created, incuding the Apollo software. Tht's the whole reason he killed the Alphas isn't it?
If you are going to do a video about Apollo I have some suggestions. Somone commented about the state of HZD society without Apollo and how Faro's purge diddn't result in the innocent world he thought it did. "Goes to show humans are just flawed" Personaly I think it's deeper then that. Apollo was also intened to tech the uture generations not to make the same mistakes, how can they do that if they don't know what the mistakes were? Also I think that our sociey, which is more liberal, fair, tolerant and kinder then the world of the past, was somthing learned and developed over time. Ideals like eqaulity, limited power of leader, seperation of religon and state, questioing the status quo and respecting other people's way of life. These poeple were never tuaght that. And then there were all the supersitions, like the ones that made Aloy an outcast from birth and was blamed for the tribe's bad luck. not to mention the pointless sun-ring. And if you want a more pratical reason, when Gaia destroyed herself she left the terraforming system to degrade and eventualy breakdown, his would end life on Earth if it were not fixed. Which the people (except Aloy) can't do becuase they don't even know Gaia exists. And here's a line I think would be great for the Apollo video, "Ted Faro my have destroyed the world a seccond time." What do you think?
Hey, those are really good suggestions, unfortunately the vid is already finished, just needs to be uploaded. Maybe for a lore bites later down the line though :)
Perhaps a lore bite exploring what the effects of the purge was other then lack of technical knowlege? What cultureal, societal and political problems developed in it's absence? If so could you maybe mention me in the credits?
First of all: I love your series about the lore of HZD, absolute amazing work, thank you. I really hope this is or will be honored by Guerilla. It would be great if they would have incorporated some of your theories into "The Forbidden West". My little contribution to the ELEUTHIA topic: I think that when Aloy visits ELEUTHIA 9, in one scene it might be revealed, where the Nora's title "Brave" comes from. When Aloy activates the hologram, in which the servitor tells the meahwhile grown up kids that she has to release them to the outside because they ran out of food, the kids ask: "And when we are outside, what will become of us?". The servitor answers: "You will be brave". Maybe they transitioned this word to the title, that was given to the first ones who were strong enough to make a stand against the odds of the outside world.
@@ThomDeth not to mention Kojima and Guerilla games have a great relationship considering the merger between the games and also the fact that Kojima was allowed to use the game engine for free by Guerilla

Thanks for your videos! The concepts you've brought up relating to the GAIA subfunctions, Vast Silver, Far Zenith, and a Ted Faro clone get me excited. I'd be disappointed if they don't use at least one of these ideas for the sequel!
I have a request for a couple of videos. They are both linked with the Eleuthia video you did. We are aware that the cradle facility that the Nora, Carja as well as Aloy come from is Eleuthia 9, but how many Eleuthia cradle facility are there round the world. I have watch the seen the Gaia explanation a few times and when I gat to the Eleuthia part of it I count about 13 on the part of the map that is shown and I believe that is not enough to start to repopulate the world. Also another video which could linked to this one is about it is possible that tribes such as the Oseram, Banuk or any other tribe we learn about in the story of Horizon might come from different Eleuthia cradle facilities as we only know that both the ancestors of Carja and Nora came out the Eleuthia 9 cradle facility, but not any other tribes. They might of come out of the same facility but I don't remember seeing any information about them coming form there throughout the game. Hope these ideas help you to create more videos as they help us all to have a greater understand of the law of the game
2:22 Wolves? I don’t recall any wolves in the game. Plus, the map has us in areas where wolves lived in, such as The Cut, aka Yellowstone National Park. As far as I can tell there’s no sing of them anywhere

I am more curious than ever what happened to Apollo. Its location, did it crash landed to earth somewhere, or was it just disconnected? The Alpha's did state the loss of vast knowledge because Ted purged it, but could stand to reason that nobody out side is alive to fix it. It could just be in outer space waiting to be reconnected. Sylens did say that the Cauldron can be repurposed to fabricate any thing. So, if Apollo is intact just physically disconnected in space there is a chance with the Cauldron.
So basically all humans in this game are “Clone” But the “Old World” technology are so advanced , I believe some of them survive in space, and perhaps the one who send the signals (Red Lightning) to Hades.

well i guess 1 good think about the ai going rougue is that artemis might reintroduce the other animal species that was inteded to be done by the humans itself instead, as for eleuthia im not sure what it would do its job is basically done unless its able to make more humans
They said monsters in the description for far west I wonder if Artemis is getting a little creative with her freedom. Same way Hephaestus sees his machines as something he needs to protect from humans, Artemis would likely if free from Gaia she might come to a similar conclusion since humans hunt the wave 1 animals. Idk if by monsters they are just talking about new machines but I really would love to see the other functions going balls to the wall like Hephaestus with their new found freedom from Gaia. Also if Hades and Hephaestus are anything to go by the subfuctions seem to, when free from Gaia, become fixated on their particular purpose with no regard for the other goals of zero dawn.
in Horizon: Zero Dawn Ted Faro deleted all copies of Apollo.... What about the original? and in Frozen wilds we meet Hephestus. Gaia said that her functions became their own entities... does that mean that all of them are Individual AI's? in that case could Ted Faro created Apollo and became self aware? For me this raises more questions then i have played in the game... What of Cyan? Would/could she help Aloy recreate Gaia??? So many questions.
With the vast resources and money Ted Faro had. What are the odds he somehow is still alive, but inside a machine? Maybe he was the one the sent the signal?
Sylens mentioned the cryogenics as a possible way to extend or preserve human life for extended period of time in the Old One's civilization, so there is a possibility of him being still alive.
Everything going well seems to have hinged on Apollo. Is there no chance that it could be recovered? Surely the humans of 2043 would have Finally learned you have to back yo data up >__
Remember Ted had the same privileges as Elizabeth did, so my guess is that he definatly purged it. Perhaps Liz was smart enough not to completly trust Ted. There have been misgivings about him from the other Alpha's which Liz must've known about, so perhaps she backed at least some of Zero Dawn up in a seperate facility. However with her death nobody could get to it. There was a back up of Apollo on the Oddesey. Further proof that Far Zenith must've known the true purpose of Zero Dawn.
Patricia Geheim wow... A back up on Oddyssey of Apollo... And that jus opens up what Sylens is so interested in ( hearing his anger about how Ted Faro left humanity "benighted in ignorance" ) so Sylens is going to build a space ship and go find the space ship with what humanity needs to progress properly... I dont know,, i love thinking about what HZD 2 will give us.
Even if he did purge it,it would seem very strange it there wasn't a means to un-purge as least some of it. For example I have a utility program called revora that will scan my system and any drives attached to it,give me a list of any deleted files and then attempt to recover them. Surely something like that would be a part of the system,as it would seem like common sense?
Patricia Geheim What HADES knew and taught Sylins, maybe there is a backup in all the other subroutines. Not the classes Apollo would teach but the data would be there.
I mean technically had any of the other sub-functions failed the whole project would have. That was the point of HADES, a hard reset. Though it was not supposed to activate if ELEUTHIA had already begun. But if POSEIDON or AETHER had failed earlier the whole project would have. Or if MINERVA hadn’t been able to break the code nothing would have ever even have started. The fact that everything worked but for the sabotage of the very last function is telling. I do think ARTEMIS should have been able to complete without human involvement but I understand what they were trying to achieve. It’s unfortunate though, based on how GAIA’s machines are still out there maintaining the environment tells me that the biosphere is still not self-sustaining and likely won’t be unless and until all those other animal species are reintroduced.
