Brother, I'm extremely impressed not trying to be negative I just need to mention this manufacturer of the trans cooler said not to put the hose connectors facing downwards it will cause the cooler to drain and then your pump has to push the oil up through it every morning, we put the same exact trans cooler except we flipped it
Thanks very much! Lookin forward to seeing how this turns out, love my Hummer, but, there are a few things, like this, I wish they would've thought out better.
Yeah, the light-duty transmission was an odd choice for an otherwise heavy duty truck. I'm compiling receipts and part numbers for the next video. It is coming soon. I appreciate your support!
While I have never done such a swap, I believe it's physically the same on the outside. Not sure about wiring. You will probably have to do a segment swap with HPTuners no matter what. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Ive been searching for years for a cheap way to do away with the all wheel drive. I watched both your videos and ive yet to determine if you actually changed the transfer case to the 2500 one.
@mohawkgarage Yes it does. I re watched them and figured that's what you did. I've found BorgeWarner kits to make the transfer case selectable and a Dana60 front hub kit to disengage the front rotating assembly. Downside is manual locking hubs. I guess I'm trying to have my cake and eat it to. I've just not seen anyone put the entire combination together in a factory manner. But with the best math I can gather. The combination should boost fuel economy quite significantly. 4-6mpg gains.
@getinit56 I agree about the mpgs. I entertained the thought of 2wd for a while since I live in Florida, but ultimately decided to keep it in the stock configuration. I didn't want to freak out the computer or some sensor I didn't know about. Good luck!

Thank you! I'll swap it asap. I'm never too proud to learn!

👍😎👌Excellent video. Got a question can the 4l60e be directly swapped out for the 4l65e transmission?

I used the old transfer case, but I changed the input cluster. Does that help? Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@mohawkgarage Thank you. You to.
U can unclip the front cv axles. Remove the front diff. And run in 4lock hi.

I have a gmt360 w/ lifter problem would like to keep trans as a spare.
I'm not absolutely positive if they are the same. I wish I knew, but I'm just not sure. Thanks for watching and commenting!
