    Just love him. He's SO gorgeous! This is my all time favorite film because it makes you laugh, makes you think, and it addresses real issues that we all can relate to.

      I like the point he was trying to make here because he was addressing more of a real issue during those changing times. It seems like when people are trying to make the same kind of point today, even speaking as a woman I think they are talking out of their ass and just trying to control people. It always seems like those kinds of people are trying to say that men today are not different than men were back in the 50s and 60s and that's just not true. Teenage boys that are becoming men in this day and age have been discouraged from doing the things that boys do so that most of them don't even know how to become men! I'm sick of it. I've hated it when a man becomes a womanizer, but I also hate it when a woman becomes a man hating bitch who's only goal in life is to (if you'll excuse my saying so) practically castrate a man and treat them like less of a person. We don't need to do that. We have to see each other as equals on both sides.

    This movie is surprisingly ahead of it’s time with such a comedic premise, great, subtle but strong message without being preachy.

    After watching this film and now I'm starting to watch _Mad Men,_ I was appalled to see how men treated women back then in the workplace. So this _Tootsie guy_ had put himself literally in women's shoes in order to see how women were treated in the workplace.

    • @UTFan666
      @UTFan666 Год назад +1

      Actually, he dressed up as a woman to get a job. Not to make a statement or to find out how the other side lives. Its, along the way, that he came to understand the inequality of being a women in showbiz. As well as the rest of the everyday world. There's other scenes in the movie that show this, without words. I've always loved this movie; but I have had one issues, as a women, that it took a man to make ppl see how unfair things are for women in the workplace.

    Interesting how the female character looks considerably older than 44 years old, which is how old Dustin Hoffman was at the time of filming. Hoffman himself looked around that age when he wasn't in make-up.

    I really fine a very sexist ambient in this movie but it really shows that there´s a wish to see more women with a personality as the one that dorothy has. I mean she is a real fighter in a macho world which is really protrayed by the producer of the series here but we can´t hide that she is a he but a he who really took his work seriously and with his way to be, seduces and at the end of the movie you are going to wish that a dorothy michaels really exist

    How exactly is it men's turn to fight for equality? Men have always had it, so sharing the pie won't lead to losing it.

    • @Maxshard
      @Maxshard 8 лет назад +1

      That's a naive comment. Women have had more rights than men for decades. In the divorce courts, the criminal justice system, domestic violence refuges, managerial courses, quotas, promotional schemes, in the UK they have women only parking spaces, preferential treatment left and right, women only leisure centre sessions, library sessions, education courses, women only Parliamentary short lists banning men from being allowed to compete altogether. I hope you get divorced one day if you are a man and get cleaned out, then you'll see just how much of the bloody pie you'll be left with.
