Makes me feel old at 45. In the late 90's through mid 2000's, I went to thrift stores picking up vinyl for 25 cents a piece because I didn't want to pay $20 for a CD. Also was broadening my horizons with different music, especially jazz which was very limited on CD at that time. Now that vinyl is worth money and the cd's are 99 cents.
Definitely makes the cyclical nature of things stand out. Hell, even cassette is making a comeback and that doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Wondering how long we'll be waiting for the "CD Resurgence."

My favorite song on that Crash Test Dummies CD is Afternoons & Coffeespoons. In my opinion, their best song is their cover of Peter Pumpkinhead (originally by XTC), but that's not on that album.
Wow they covered XTC? Honestly I never gave Crash Test Dummies much consideration, but this takes them up a notch for me. It took me nearly 30 years to come around to XTC (interestingly after first hearing Primus cover Making Plans for Nigel way back in the day) which is a shame, they are now one of my favorite bands.

Hi 👋 im viewing from New Zealand. I go to thrift stores hunting for cds too. I sometimes get a good find. Im in my sixties in age , so my collection is diverse and ranging from the 1960s to the early 2000s. I like jazz , and have alot of movie soundtracks too. That Pure Moods cd has Mike Oldfields Tubular Bells on it i noticed. I remember that instrumental being released as a single . It was put on the soundtrack to the 1973 film The Exorcist. I own a copy of his album on cd. I recommend it if you havent already got it.
It's been a while since I've done it, but sometimes you strike gold at thrift stores on CD. Trick is getting there shortly after something was put out (or having such weird taste that nobody else wants it). Easy to get into classical this way with tons of good recordings just sitting around. Sometimes, you just get lucky as I did and find a ton of out of print progressive rock stuff because an entire collection had just been dropped off. I left with a crate.
I went to Savers Saturday and got pretty good albums stemming from The Doors' debut self title to Seether's Isolate to Meditate and The Police's Synchronocity. I did find the Chili Peppers' Blood Sugar Sex Magick, but it isn't perfect in the playback at Goodwill with Disturbed's Indestructible album and Phil Collins' Hello, I Must be Going album. I haven't tested every disc yet, but I hope none of them skip or distort heavily.
I loved this. It's making me honestly want to do a video like this in the future with physical media. I have some shops I go to anyway. And I am planning on making another trip in December. So, I might as well record some content and make a video out of my trip.
