Bar none, given my AaDHD symptoms,I come back to this so very often for meditation and reflection. You simply have no idea what a profound impact this has had upon me. Thank you.
I get what you’re saying. The sound was terrifying before the battle, because you didn’t know if you were going to survive the battle. After you survived the battle you felt pure joy. Pure joy you’re still alive.
For me, this sound is reminiscent of my many, many training jumps as a paratrooper at Ft. Bragg, NC. We would work all day, then head to (then) Pope Air Force Base in the late afternoon for prejump training. We’d finally chute up with all our combat equipment and load the plane - a C-130 turboprop most days. All the equipment and chute can weigh 100 pounds and walking is hard - like a duck or a very pregnant woman (much respect). By about 2100, you’re on the plane wedged in like sardines and it finally takes off. But the pilot needs training too, so you fly “nap of the earth” for an hour or more. Tired, hot, and sweaty. Uncomfortable and knowing you’ll throw your body out of the plane from 800 feet with 50 of your closest friends in pitch dark (could be 2-300 friends in 4-6 C-130s, depending on the training mission). So tired, knowing you have a few more hours of training once you hit the ground. So you relax, listen to the turboprops, and fall asleep for 20-30 minutes. Soldiers can sleep anywhere, and in any position with just a few minutes notice. The sound of the turboprops is peace, rest before the mission.
I'd love to be a pilot of one of those. Knowing having our best men in the belly of our aircraft bringing them safely in and/or out! If I'd be a pilot and someone tells me he could sleep in peace on my plane, that'd be the biggest compliment I can get!
I love this sound. A prop engine. It takes me home more than the sounds of a jet engine. It's more in keeping with what I remember, virtually growing up on a Pan American Airways Stratocruiser, before the Boeing jets took over. My dad was as exec with PAA in the Golden Age of Flying and we always traveled First Class. I am blessed and very lucky to have been up there in the skies, during this historic time in flying The food, the Chateaubriand and the Airline Roast Chicken Breast, by Food Wishes on YT, shows you how to prepare it, with the wingette attached. Incomprable. A dying art in that chicken preparation. I go to sleep with this. I do like a little cabin noise softly in the background from time to time. Dreamland.
Reminds me of my childhood; flying with my parents to visit relatives overseas. Those old prop planes put me right to sleep. Jets are faster, but the noise is not as calming.
Likewise, Rick! I used to fly in Handley Page Hermes to and from East Africa - two days to get there - and the background sound of four 2,000 hp Hercules engines was wonderful!
@@Kayaz48 Really cool hearing about your guys’ experiences. I’m only 29, but the sounds of any sort of motor or engine lulls me to sleep. We had a jacuzzi bath tub when I was younger - essentially just an air intake on an indoor bath tub. In high school I would come home, draw a bath and fall asleep to the motors. I would purposefully put water droplets in my ears to plug them, which as a result would cause me to hear/feel the sound of the jets better: given how well sound travels through objects, my body being against the tub essentially made me an amplifier for the motor sounds. I loved the sound so much that I invested in Bluetooth speakers with good bass, clarity, and a long enough battery to last me the night and I’ll either throw on videos of prop planes, or I’ll play my 9 hour recording of a jacuzzi I made. Hahaha The only problem with falling asleep to sounds like this is that I subconsciously wake up if it for any reason stops playing. :P
Flew Dakotas, dc4s and 6, constellations , viscounts , even managed, when i was a young boy, to identify them from my bed at night, just by the sound , during their final descent to Beirut airport. Made me dream of far places...
At 6:29.5 & 6:30.5 there is a very brief set of words approx 5 over two to four seconds? That sound like radio traffic or a call sign? Has anyone else heard this and what is it saying? Other than a few snaps n pops of static and these words.. this is the best sleep sound on the internet! 👍
Fantastic propeller ASMR sound. I love to fall asleep to this while wearing my Airpods in bed. I imagine myself as a WW2 pilot on a secret bombing mission at night when I play this. It does help me fall asleep very quickly.
Dont relax too much... Time to switch tanks? Last known position? Time to nxt check point? Check hdg, mag compass.... Engine temps? Chc exaust flame for mix... Lots to do...
If I fly when I am tired, I have to be careful because the drone of the engine and warm sun through the windscreen and skylight windows can make me seriously drowsy. I haven’t fallen asleep yet, but I’ve come close a couple of times over the past 30 years.
This the best sound out of all of them, I just wish it was 9 or 10 hours long. I always wake up a few minutes earlier than I want to when the sound stops.
@@soundsandrelaxingI play this video almost every night. First time I have noticed that bit of chatter in it. Just a thought, could you create a video like this one but with more radio chatter in it please? Or perhaps with some weather sounds like rain, strong winds, thunder etc?
Thank you for your feedback. With the radio discussion it's an idea that I'm going to try. With the rain and thunder it's here. ruclips.net/video/vf60y9oHrPE/видео.html
Thanks for that. Also it is possible to remove the red headphone watermark when playing in full screen mode in order to reduce the risk of screen burn on OLED displays please? Thanks.
Thank you for the video. I loved this until we were awoken out of a dead sleep at the 6:30:00 mark of the video when you hear our of no where a man speak a different language. Maybe supposed to be the pilot. I’m disappointed ☹️

very happy to read that !
Excellent white noise. After a good sleep I woke up not only refreshed but energized. Thank you for this content.
Thank you for your feedback !
Very refreshing as I spent 3000+ hrs as an aircrewman in a ,C2A COD plane in the Navy very similar sound they were T56 turbo props
See any strange things up there?
for some ppl this is relaxing, and used for sleep. for ww2 veterans this was a sound of either joy or fear
Whatever...

It happened often that pilots fall asleep during missions, last time I've heard was in the gulf war. So it is a not uncommon phenomenon!

HWY 41.....
So what was you place of birth listed as? I’ve always wondered how that gets decided in that situation.
A gient propeller would be a perfect meditation machine for a yoga room.

Sounds like a an22 and a tu95 propeller but your just inside that airplane
All these models are equipped with 4 turboprop engines, this is the reason for the resemblance. Thank you for the comment.
