    Was neat for me to see this one. Started out good but then you met up with Will (I've seen some of his videos on Idaho. Mostly parts of the state I've not seen myself). The name Lemelo Lake was pulling at my memory...had to look it up after I watched your video. I camped just a few miles north of there at another lake earlier this year. I think the Bigger lake you guys stopped at is Big Lake. I was there a month or two ago. I think I have identified the campground where you stayed at Detroit. Only ever been along the highway side of the lake myself. And the final surprise for me was the place you visited in wine country. Evergreen Aviation is almost in my back yard (okay a handful of miles from my actual back yard) and a few hundred yards from where my wife works. Now, this was already a really good video. I seldom watch one as long as this and yet when it was getting near the end I was thinking...no...don't end yet...I want more. The knowledge that you visited near (or in one case at) areas I have explored made it just that much cooler for me. Great job.

    • @RevereOverland
      @RevereOverland  3 дня назад

      That’s awesome! Big Lake is correct.
      Side note: when I initially read this the part “started out good but then you met up with Will” made it sound like it went downhill when he showed up 😂

    I hope trailers don't become the norm on trails. I think it takes the fun out of off roading. Dragging all the convenience of home into the woods...stay home. Just my opinion. Great video though.

    • @RevereOverland
      @RevereOverland  3 дня назад +1

      I’ve never been bothered by someone else having a trailer. There was the one time a line of them wouldn’t move over to let me by, but they were going ridiculously slow and were being particularly selfish. Most people move over, so I think that was a person problem, not a trailer problem!

    • @RevereOverland
      @RevereOverland  5 дней назад +1

      They've been great in the snow. They're louder and get worse mpg than the Nitto Recon Grapplers, despite being 35s, but they're also an inch wider which probably doesn't help.

    • @mikelewis6965
      @mikelewis6965 4 дня назад

    • @RevereOverland
      @RevereOverland  3 дня назад +1

      Close to 75k miles on it now.
      The only unavoidable problem was the mirror camera falling out. It was a common problem in early models, so they fixed it free out of warranty. My biggest problem was the fuel line leaking, but I’d been putting off the recall that would have prevented it.

    • @RevereOverland
      @RevereOverland  4 дня назад

      It tows fine and can handle the trails, but stops me from exploring side roads. With the Tundra buildout and just the two of us it's completely unnecessary, but I hope to borrow one again with the GX.

    So add $55k for a trailer to pull round. It can't really be worth that, can it?

    • @RevereOverland
      @RevereOverland  4 дня назад +2

      Whether something is worth it is relative to income and use scenario/situation.
      For me, no. I don’t make enough and mostly only camp with me and my son. For the other two families there it might well be, and I wouldn’t be shocked to see either of them buy a trailer.

    • @RevereOverland
      @RevereOverland  4 дня назад

      If you’re looking for a trailer and have the money to spend then I think spending the extra is definitely worth it. I had a $30k trailer from one of the big RV stores and it was a piece of garbage that would fall apart on the interstate. I didn’t do a single trip with it without having to fix multiple things. You definitely pay for what you get. The one I borrowed was obviously built so much better and will far outlast the cheap ones, even used off road.

      While I was looking for a trailer that I could pull with the Jeep Grand Cherokee limited, I looked at all these super fancy high-end off-road trailers. Purely on a whim I stopped at a local RV dealership and found the IBEX 10 LHG I paid $28,500.00 that included the FSR HighCountry tent, RhinoRack rooftop rack system, Batwing 270 awning, Joolca HotTap, Truma fridge, Dometic two burner cooktop, 32gallon fresh water within filtration and D/c pump and outdoor spray port, inverter, 110V outlets, USB-A ports, 2-12V ports, LED lightning, large propane tank, JBL bluetooth speaker, external 200w solar, and a conventional A/C roof Unit with heat strip, which I had replaced with a MaxAir fan, tire pressure monitoring system. Substantially cheaper than almost every one of these small cottage industry overlanding trailer. Now it’s manufactured by an RV company so I knew that I would have to fix things build quality would not be as good. All that being said the trailer is far more capable off-road than my Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk it tows excellent it has a greater cargo capacity than what I need as it is a mini toy hauler. And pretty much does everything the cottage industry trailers do; and being a mechanical engineer I would venture to say that my suspension and frame is just as capable if not more capable than most of the “off-road” trailers I have seen. My only concern is the stapled together luan and particle board interior parts. But I am working on an upgrade for that currently. So cost depends on your personal needs, budget, and how much upgrades/repairs you’re willing to deal with. And now 3 years on the road full time in this trailer and my only issue I had to deal with is the cheap wood cabinets and some minor issues with condensation lately.
