Enjoyed seeing your progress on this project. Thanks for sharing. You do quality work. Also like the uniforms that set you apart from other companies. Which sikkens did you use?
We’ve been using sikkens log and siding for about 8 years and I really like it. It’s held up really well for customers. It’s a little limited in color options though so I’m considering using Ilva which is the same manufacturer we use for cabinets. That would be a two part system with stain for color and a clear coat. What do you like using?
@@okeefepainting1023 I use the same. Satin finish. I put it on a lot of exterior wood ceilings and doors in Texas. Their proud of it and charge a premium but after a couple weeks it looks amazing. Keep up the good work.
@@okeefepainting1023 hey I’m a painter in the north east. I’ve used sikkens which is now ppg before and has good results but in my current job the doors needed to match pre fab doors and I couldn’t get the dark oak to match. I stripped the doors down and wiped with water to open the pores. Used a wiping stain which isn’t ideal for exterior but came back with 3 coats of a oil spar satin clear coat meant for exterior finishes. I’ve done this before but always get a little nervous about longevity. I’ll be maintaining the doors yearly from now on, just wondering if you’ve had any experience with this method. Thanks
Since you stained while the doors are installed, doesn't that leave a thin border around the edges that are not stained, and could show sometimes?
Did you use and prestain wood conditioner?
Thank you for convincing me that I should not try to do this myself...lol
Great video. Thank you. Is the process the same if the product is a solid stain? I want to go from stained door and soffit to a dark gray.
Good video! I was wondering what was the stain color y’all used for those garage doors?
How much did you charge for that job?

No - Not with the sikkens stain system
