A golf channel like this has been needed for so long. I know there are some other good channels, but you guys have opened up my eyes to equipment I used to look upon as inferior. I would’ve never tried this ball but thanks to this video I’ll be purchasing a sleeve. Keep up the great work!
Can't wait to see ye try the seed a small irish company but for me its the best ball I have played with. I'm playing off plus 2 from Ireland 👍 great work guys
Just got a box of Tour Soft and loved them! I know is a 2 piece ball but performance was on point! Interesting to see a head-to-head between these two, seem to be on the same level, price point for Titelist. Tour soft & Tour speed
I have played the Tour Speed and the Tour Response. My initial observations are that the Tour Response is longer off the irons and checks up better than the Tour Speed. No difference in driving distance. I'll keep up the comparison for another couple of rounds.
You guys have been killing the game with these ball reviews. I remember watching your video about the Wilson Duo Soft and would love to see how it compares to all the other ultra low-compression balls. Would be cool to see a full comparison. (Wilson Duo Soft, Callaway Supersoft, Maxfli Softfli, Taylormade Soft Response, Titleist Tru Feel, etc...) Keep up the fantastic content. Thanks guys.
At last, been a Titleist guy all my life but recently moved to Bridgestone BRX(S) for softer compression and to eliminate the extra spin from a low hit miss hit as I get older and not as strike consistent. Really like the BRX(S) but can’t wait to get hold of this.....🙂
Love you added the 50 yd pitch shot to shown the feel shots, would like to see you also add a 25-30 yd shot where there is more ball release. Nice to see how consistent that release is
great to hear you will be testing the seed balls, great ball from Irish company. very popular here on a subscription deal of a box a month for 25€, or about 40CAD
Would love to see video's comparing all similar balls to each other. So all premium balls, then all second tier balls (Tour Response type) and then direct to consumer balls, and then a final comparing the top from each of these three groups to each other.
Bought a dozen a few weeks back. Not a big Titleist guy but I really was impressed with this ball. Glad you reviewed it to confirm that it was a very good piece of equipment. Thanks!
Agree that a golf ball bracket would be really helpful. Two brackets, 3 piece & 4 piece & include price. This would allow everyone to make a good value judgement.
Have TXG done testing on water-logged balls? I've seen scuba divers who are contracted by golf courses to recover balls that are hit into water hazard areas... but I wonder if the golf balls are even usable once they're retrieved?
I read an article recently that stated that a lake ball that has been in the water for 6 months loses 10 yards off the tee. I'm not sure what the science is behind that though
Michael, Golf Balls are non-hygroscopic so they will not absorb water to any discernable degree. However, depending upon the amount of time that they have been submerged there may be some degrading of the outside cover. Lake Balls that you often see for sale in discount stores are fine for practising and practice Rounds.
The review I read recently for 1 month, 3 month and 5 month lake balls (they suggest few actually make it past 4 months underwater) suggested there was a minimal reduction in performance, approx, 1, 3 & 6yds shorter, hardly noticeable for those who will likely benefit from numerous, cheaper balls
I play refirbs a lot and i find they're an incredible value. I personally cant tell the difference between a good quality refinished refirb like Reload than new
Titleist might not be the absolute longest for someone or the spinniest on wedges for someone, but they are so consistent and dedicate so much effort into quality that it’s easy to see why it’s the number 1 ball.
Great video guys! As someone who is coming from Tour Softs and just picked up a box of Tour Speeds, I’d love to see a comparison between Tour Soft and Tour Speed.
Grabbed a sleeve before my round today to try. Great feeling ball. Durability was a little disappointing. They seemed to scuff you easily but I was overall happy with the overall performance
Honestly the tour response has more spin, so it’s going to be better around the green. The tour speed is going to work for guys who feel they want less spin.
Great vid guys !!! Remember When RS tested the True Feel ( When Titleist launched them ) against PRO V1 and was impressed ! There was OFC more Spinn and stop with the V1 , the TF checked OK but rolled out , as expected , but for the weekend golfer it was a great ball at a great price 🏌️🇸🇪👌🙏
I tried these out this past weekend, I found them to feel very good and perform very well for me off the irons but that was about it. Ok off the driver but the big drawback was how soft it felt off my M Craft putter. And consider that is a putter without an insert! I had to really put extra force into my stroke to get the ball to the hole.
The Tour Speed reminds me of the old Srixon HiSpin but slightly softer. THIS IS A VERY GOOD GOLF BALL FOR SLOWER SWING SPEEDS. Also if you play public golf courses that have slower greens than private country clubs, this Tour Speed will do just fine for feel and putting around the greens. Nothing performs like a ProV1, but you need 95+ swing speed to get all of the benefit of a ProV1. I like the feel of this Tour Speed far more than the tour feel. Also, higher spin rates will give you higher ball flight.
I have paying more attention to the ball performance vs what I expected to see with each shot. My swing speed is upper 90s to low 100s. I am a fairly heavy loader with my swing. I was using Taylormade project A today. Just some funky ball flights and distance vs strike was off. I switched to a pro V1. The ball did exactly what I expected with each shot. I felt like I was compressing the project A to much. Thus getting the odd shots. I learned all this from your channel. Great information.
Going for a titleist ball fit next week (ball fit was recommended by you guys a couple videos back) and I might add this to the list with the rest of the urethane covered golf balls titleist make, thanks guys 👍🏼
I know this is older: but it’s funny revisiting this after Mygolfspy did the 2021 ball test and found preliminarily that the tour speed was really long. I’m curious if I can give up that short game spin and play this ball. Thanks for all the hard work you all do! Love the channel
Playing Tour Response will definatley gives these a try great vid as always. As a senior us low spin guys do like a bit of roll out on the chips and pitches. Thanks for another good one. Cheers from NorCal
Would love to see this compared to the taylormade tour response. For me, this ball would go in the fall/ early spring golf ball category. A little cheaper price which is good due to balls lost in the leaves, yet I am ok with a little less spin since most of my greens will be a touch softer in the fall and spring so I should still be able to get a little nip. The big thing for me is I have ball speeds with my driver around Matts, so finding a ball that's a step down, but still doesn't cost me anything off the tee sounds like a winner to me and worth a try!
Played with these yesterday. They're the cheaper version of the AVX with a higher ball flight. It's starting to get cooler and windy up here in Long Island and they performed great in the wind. Only downside for me was that they ran off some of the greens on approach shots with irons. But for $40 I would buy them again.
I noticed the sound right away when you hit the pro v 1x

First class review and will definitely try. I have been using the Seed ball here in Ireland and I do like it. Should be interesting to hear and see your thoughts on their balls👍👍👍
The consistency of Matt’s swing is ridiculous...Are you guys doing any more on-course videos this summer? It would be awesome to see you guys play some of the courses that have hosted Canadian Opens.
I really want to see you guys put the Cleveland Launch HB Turbo driver through a test!... I just got mine and it outperforms my PING G400 from what I can see on my garmin approach g80, but that doesn’t give me as detailed a report as your equipment could give.. Love the tests and the channel guys!
Thanks Guys... as an old man coming back to golf and playing in Qatar, I have to play what I can find to buy here.... which means whatever the pro shop stocks as we are a little short on options and shipping isn't cheap. As such I started playing this ball a few months ago and saw a dramatic improvement inall aspects of my game from the Taylormade ball I had been using... even putting felt better! I should probably apologise to the purists though as I use the yellow one because it's much easier to find in the desert scrub used as hazards out here 🤣😂
From my experience and from testing (such as on your channel) I've found that that the "Hard" balls carry more than the "Soft" with a Driver, But that the "Soft" carry further (and rollout more) with the irons than the hard balls. Is my experience unique?
Kevin Maher agreed. I have experienced the same. But the biggest difference is that the softer balls are very inconsistent in short game shots. You get lots of jumpers.
My dad recently went to a Titleist AVX because he's older and has a lot of sidespin on his shots. He hits a straighter shot with them and really likes them so far. I actually disagree with the idea that a Po V1 tier ball is the "best performing" for all types of golfers. It is the best in the ideal scenario because the better player will deliver a better swing onto the ball, but some players may gain more strokes with lower spin, more distance, etc.
I played the Titleist EXP-01 ball last fall/winter and early this spring (prior to the COVID-19 golf shutdown at the end of March), and I liked it OK but didn't love it. I'm a dedicated Snell MTB-X and/or OnCore Vero X1 player (I play golf at least 3x to 5x per week) and those two balls work best for ME. The ProV1 would be my choice if I were to play a Titleist ball.
This is definitely my next ball purchase. Nothing is as consistent as a Titleist....and with this performance and saving $15/dozen you cannot lose. Kudos again Titleist. My garbage 6 handicap will not know difference at all!!
Never liked ProV and Pro1x. prefer softer. do like the Velocity and can see myself liking the Tour Speed. Currently in LOVE with Bridgestone. Ticks all the boxes.
Looking forward to the Oncore test! I play their Avant55 but I think it's too soft for me so I'd like to see how the elixir performs for the price! I'm interested in the Vero x1 also but it's not in my price range for my 30 handicap lol
I've discovered these balls after they have been discontinued. As a high handicap, I have played Wilson 50 Elites at 25-30 a double dozen on sale, and previous gen Bridgestone Tour BX..... these balls Titleist balls are basically just as good as the tour balls. The 50 Elites, although I have been an advocate of them, compress too much for a 95-100 driver- something that I've proven to myself on the simulator (the only way to ever get higher smash factor than a 1.42 on the Trackman was to swing slower) Wonder what they'll replace this one with?
Great video as always, but is there any way you could add in some putter testing to reflect on feel off the face (though I know this would be subjective). For me, when it comes to ball selection, this is a key question. I now play ProV1x for the extra short game spin, but took me quite a while to adjust to the slightly clickier feel off the putter.
Can you guys keep a running spreadsheet? IE, a spreadsheet that lists data on all the balls you guys test so we can see where they rank against each other. As you test a new ball, you add it to the spreadsheet.
How does it compare to the tour response head to head? I would like some more spin on my 54 and 50 degree wedge. I play the Snell mtbx, would the mizuno rbx be a good ball to try?
Love the review! Please please consider reviewing the maxfli straightfli. I’ve been using that ball almost exclusively for the last 2 summers & I’ve never been able to find a review on it. I’m not sure if it’s truly a great discount priced ball, or if I just have an attachment to it.
Not what I was expecting to hear! This ball seems to be a lot better than I expected it to be. My dad likes to run the ball so I’m going to pas this along.
I believe ProV1 is the best all around ball made, I play Z star because of price and it’s the best short game ball for me, I’ll give up 5 yards if I get the control I trust around the green.
I agreed with the ball bracket! Or just a full like ball testing for companies. From the complete budget bottom dollar to top. Also, a Tour Speed vs Taylormade Tour Response test.
The more I've practiced short game this year, I mean really practiced, with the start of Covid, the more I realized that even as an old 8-10 handicapper, now 3-5, that my short game knowledge and control to hit the lower checking shots, how and when to hit them out of lies that you can actually do it, just did not exist before the hundreds of hours I've practiced. Thus for anyone who can't 90% of the time, when they are trying to do it, hit that lower checking shot, these lower spinning short game balls are actually superior.
I bought chrome soft x to try a dozen. Price point like a pro V. I like them. Great spin around green. Good with driver. But I still like the pro V better. Just me saying.
Check out the MyGolfSpy review of them from a couple days ago. Basically they determined they're still pretty bad. Big quality control issues, I think it was 20% of the balls they tested had issues.
How much do you look at dispersion as a consideration for a ball? is that more the player? for instance, in this case, the PROV1x was more circular and the Tour Speed was more oval with an axis tilt. do you have a preference of what you want to see in a fitting? or as a player?
Do they classify AVX in the same Category as ProV1? From a price point it would seem so, but no one seems to ever Bring AVX up in conversations along side it. Wondering if it should be in that bracket, or should be in a bracket with the Tour speed/soft Love the Ball review videos. and the direct reference comparisons are great for helping choose which ball to play if you want to switch to a DTC brand like Vice.
Probably mentioned already, but seeing this up against the other "2nd" tier balls low spinning off the driver and decent spin on irons/ wedges seams ideal
At the store the other day these ones were $39.99/dozen. Interesting price point choice. To me, that 2nd tier is $32-35, so creeping up at 40 is similar to other top-tier pricing. Would’ve liked this to be the same as the Tour Soft at $34.99.
I'm going to try this new Titleist Tour Speed. But just an observation as I watch more and more of your hannel and reviews it is hard for me as a 62 year old, 87- 90 mph swing speed player to relate the information gleaned by Matt who is exponentially faster. In fact, I think the majority of players over estimate their swing speeds. I am 6.5 handicap, so I have good short game as you probably would guess. Thank you, keep up the good videos and testing.
You know what i would like to see gentlemen, i would like to see you guys take a hackers ball like the wilson elite 50. I know that it is only 50 compression, but they are a great ball for the average golfer. If you both can dial down your swing speed to match up with the low compression, you can finally test a ball for the average golfer. We can't afford anything like these titleist balls. Please do this for us, please, we want to see it. You will be amazed by the Wilson's. Thank you.
Ian and Matty - putting my request in again to test the srixon balls, they seems pretty good value for money and I think performs fairly well but would love to have your take on it!
I love the golf ball testing videos! I am curious if the GCQuad algorithms assume every ball has the same dimple pattern and aerodynamic behavior. If the aero behavior is assumed to be the same, how much of an impact would this have on the results between different models that have different dimple patterns?
GC Quad does not take dimple design/aerodynamics into account, that has to be done outdoors using Trackman. In an ideal world we would do it that way, but the logistics to do that properly and eliminate all the variables make it very tough to do as an ongoing youtube series.
TXG Tour Experience Golf - The launch, spin, and speed from the Quad are still immensely valuable. Not only that, but the ability for you guys to easily identify and eliminate outlier data points that are the result of off-centered strikes is another notch in the pro column. 👍👍👍
Hi what ball(s) should I consider for high ball flight and lower spin? In my bag I have Onesie 900, Callaway Chrome soft, Bridgestone BX, Simon AD333. Plenty of choice. Have never had a ball fitting. Can you help? Looking for more distance off the tee.
Are you guys going to ever test the Maxfli tour matte balls I sent to prove or disprove what MGS claims? I'm disappointed and a little frustrated that I took the time and spent the money to have them shipped to Canada after you said that you would test them if I sent them. Love you guys!
Wine in hand at 9:30 pm at night in Australia. Ready for a TXG ball review.
You must be in perth
Another from Perth 👌🏼
11:30pm on the east coast 🤦
Nothing like Wine and Balls! Good on you mate!
9:30 am in Canada, coffee in hand! ☕
We need a golf ball bracket.
YES
Blind if possible!
This. This so much.
An idea for a golf ball bracket: Matt hits a lot of balls and just show Ian the numbers without giving away what ball he's hitting.
Hell Yes!
A golf channel like this has been needed for so long. I know there are some other good channels, but you guys have opened up my eyes to equipment I used to look upon as inferior. I would’ve never tried this ball but thanks to this video I’ll be purchasing a sleeve. Keep up the great work!
When will we see a golf ball bracket? C’mon, we’re all thinking it. Both Ian and Matt and have to play the winner 😉
Can't wait to see ye try the seed a small irish company but for me its the best ball I have played with. I'm playing off plus 2 from Ireland 👍 great work guys

I would definitely tune in for this video
Just got a box of Tour Soft and loved them! I know is a 2 piece ball but performance was on point! Interesting to see a head-to-head between these two, seem to be on the same level, price point for Titelist. Tour soft & Tour speed

Helpful - thanks!
You guys have been killing the game with these ball reviews. I remember watching your video about the Wilson Duo Soft and would love to see how it compares to all the other ultra low-compression balls. Would be cool to see a full comparison. (Wilson Duo Soft, Callaway Supersoft, Maxfli Softfli, Taylormade Soft Response, Titleist Tru Feel, etc...)
Keep up the fantastic content.
Nice to see how consistent that release is
great to hear you will be testing the seed balls, great ball from Irish company. very popular here on a subscription deal of a box a month for 25€, or about 40CAD
i'd love to see you guys do a test of a used ball vs a new one to see how much drop off in performance there is with age/wear
Good to see the partial shot included! Big telling factor for some people. This ball is a definite surprise.
This would allow everyone to make a good value judgement.
agreed. I would also breakdown golf balls into swing speed requirements (80, 95, 100+)
Played 18 with this ball over the weekend and really liked it. Distance control was spot on
Playing these now. Good feel and sound. My only criticism is the cover seems to scuff a lot quicker compared to other similarly-priced golf balls.
thanks. the durability test was missing from this video.
Looking forward to your Seed Golf (Rep. of ireland) ball testing. 👍
I just caught this review and glad I did. I had just purchased 2 boxed of the Tour Speed for my upcoming Golf season. Thx,
Looking at Titleist website the tour speed has a compression in the high 70’s
Have TXG done testing on water-logged balls? I've seen scuba divers who are contracted by golf courses to recover balls that are hit into water hazard areas... but I wonder if the golf balls are even usable once they're retrieved?

Love the segmented bar under the video. Never noticed that before. Very cool. Thanks for another great video.
Would like to see Titleist Tour Speed against TaylorMade Tour Response. Seems the Titleist May edge it out
Honestly the tour response has more spin, so it’s going to be better around the green. The tour speed is going to work for guys who feel they want less spin.
Ian is finally becoming a true Canadian. "Not to bad eh!"
Canadians got the phrase from all the Scots that emigrated there!
Thanks as always guys! I bought a box the day they came out. So far, I'm a fan and I haven't lost many, so that's always a plus!
Played the Tour Speed today. It is a really decent ball. Does all aspects well for me. I think it will be a winner.
I tried these out this past weekend, I found them to feel very good and perform very well for me off the irons but that was about it. Ok off the driver but the big drawback was how soft it felt off my M Craft putter. And consider that is a putter without an insert! Another great golf ball review. I currently game the Pro V1x. I’m gonna get a sleeve of the Tour Speed and see the difference for myself.
Mygolfspy went in on the consistency of each companies balls. I’m loving the reviews of these balls. Keep them coming guys.
Really appreciate you guys my favorite channel you’re the best always helpful information.
Another nice video, I just picked up a dozen of them to test it out this weekend
The spin for the Tour Speed seems to be in line with your other review of the Srixon Z Star XV from 50 yds. Comparable.
I've been interested in the Tour Speed ball. Thanks for reviewing them. This was perfect timing.
Playing Tour Response will definatley gives these a try great vid as always. As a senior us low spin guys do like a bit of roll out on the chips and pitches. Thanks for another good one. Cheers from NorCal
Love the golf ball testing. Definitely an area a lot of people could see gains by playing the correct one.
Really like the Seed Pro 1 ball, played it this year for a bit along with Snell mtbx and tp5x.
Looks like a solid ball all around. Thanks for upping the ball testing vids boys. Cheers!
Would love to see this compared to the taylormade tour response. For me, this ball would go in the fall/ early spring golf ball category. Great job! Fun review. Love to see another all Titliest VERSUS show.
Excellent review. I really enjoyed it and subscribed because of this video! Thank you!
Excellent review I can't wait to test these!
I love golf ball testing. Could you do a refurbished ball vs new? I just bought some refurbished ProV1's and they feel great.

Great review, I tried out and shot my best ever round gross 73, net 65 would def saycworth trying out, I immediately went and bought a dozen 🙂
Top shelf as always guys. Any chance of a Chrome Soft vs Diablo Tour test please?
Good review - well worth giving these a try
Great video. Can you compare it vs Taylormade Tour Response and vs Vice?
New chrome soft (x) against the other leaders in the premium category? Really curious about the redesign after having issues in the past
I bought chrome soft x to try a dozen. Price point like a pro V. I like them. Great spin around green. Good with driver. But I still like the pro V better. Just me saying.
Check out the MyGolfSpy review of them from a couple days ago. Basically they determined they're still pretty bad. Big quality control issues, I think it was 20% of the balls they tested had issues.
tried the seed balls , based here in ireland would love to see the numbers up against a prov1
Wondering if it should be in that bracket, or should be in a bracket with the Tour speed/soft
Love the Ball review videos. and the direct reference comparisons are great for helping choose which ball to play if you want to switch to a DTC brand like Vice.
Can you guys test this Tour Speed ball against the EXP01 ball and tell us where they changed the EXP before mass production?
Any plans to test the Cut golf balls? Now that your videos have me looking into the different brands I am getting ads for all kinds of crazy brands.
Thanks guys, great test!
Thank you.
The ball tests are great. Is this more of a comparator for AVX than Pro V1?
Can you guys maybe test diffrent conditions grade balls? so like a grade b or c+. Just to see how good they performe.
Ian and Matty - putting my request in again to test the srixon balls, they seems pretty good value for money and I think performs fairly well but would love to have your take on it!
Always great videos!
Love TXG!!
