A test that can measure holster flip during running and that “peel” effect when drawing without a leg strap would be interesting

Yes. I run the true north adapter without a leg strap. Very annoying during foot chases and drawing my pistol. I switched back to safariland ubl with zipties because of this. Considering the bang hanger now just because it is lighter in weight. I am concerned that it will have the same flipping as the true north.

ANR design belt mount. Cheaper than Safariland, can fit 2 inch/1.75/1.5 inch belt loop. It is also cantable forward positive or backward negative. Comes in standard (slightly lower than safariland mid ride), or short (looks equal to safariland mid ride) design.
    Only $17.
Combined with the QLS (which already has built in cant) there are intuitive adjustments available. It is also lighter than true north concepts being that it isn’t metal.
I was able to add some pads on top of using Qore performance aero pad to block off any potential hot spots the holster mount may have. Normal thigh straps still work , I use Trex Arms thigh strap
    Keep it simple.

I would like to see some sort of standardized destructive testing involving the force necessary to rip a holster body (say, a 7390 or 7360) from the mounting hardware

It would be awesome to see wilder tactical’s mhp included as I have yet to see any reviews. Then a durability test of some sort for those of us in duty settings. Also the ride heights between them all

Had an ANR on my duty belt for a little over a year, just broke on me the other day, had to go back to the safariland, for now and ordered the true north concepts, hopefully it doesn't suck.

How many belt have been destroyed by the MHA??? It’s hard on belts.
The bang hanger is awesome. It’s flex while worn is so much more comfortable and I don’t need a thigh strap with it like I did with my MHA.

I've seen 2 belts get their MOLLE chewed up by MHAs. Won't be a problem for a while for people who only wear their belt for the occasional range outing, but for anyone wearing their belt regularly, mounting it over the belt is the best option. Or just get a Bang Hanger. It won't chew up belts and is much nicer than having a slab of aluminum hanging off the belt.

I currently use the Ice Vents Classic pad on the Banghanger, and I have to say that while it certainly helps, it would be nice to have a more precise pad with a thicken taper towards the bottom and with full coverage on the corners.
The material still digs into my thighs and causes hotspots after a few hours of wear. I find that the pad also shifts away from the corners, as it's only really being secured by the velcro strap.

Flex and strength. How much can/will the adapter flex or tilt or shift if the draw isn’t perfect or otherwise effected by other factors. If someone besides the wearer attempts to remove the firearm or the wearer falls or hits the holster on an object (or gets hit) how will they hold up?

  • @DaBigBR

Take a look at the RDR Gear MH2. Looks nearly identical to the UBL but has significant built-in cant capabilities and a really slick TQ bracket available. Good pick especially for those concerned about something that "looks different" at work.

  • @markarcher2441
    @markarcher2441 29 дней назад

True North Concepts is solid but there are two things I found annoying.
First, they are adaptable but there is a price for that. If you get the adapter for Gcode and other holsters you are adding bulk and complexity. In regards to complexity adjusting is a PIA. Trying to find the perfect leg strap placement and height requires you disassemble the thing. Assembly is fine but that is a challenge with the universal adapter. Not impossible but not straightforward.
The rigidity of the system can be annoying. When you sit, the long mount does not swivel. Not a deal breaker but be aware.
Compatibility is limited in some combinations. I added an rti wheel. My Havok holster’s hood would not seat properly because the the thumb release got caught up with the universal adapter. A spacer solved this issue but with the adapter, rti wheel and spacer, the holster sticks out an inch! So i changed it back and won’t use the holster on that belt.

The last three holsters I have gotten from safariland all have come installed on a cubl. That being said, i run everything on MHAs. I run a Bladetech tek-mount on a GWS bang hanger on my battle belt. When attached to a tek lock, or a UBL, it does push it out a bit more from the body.
For fast application or on the flat range, I run a Bladetech UBL with Tek Mount and mag carriers on mini tek mount recievers on tek locks. For more dynamic shooting, I move my holster to my battle belt. It's much more comfortable in unconventional shooting positions.

The product selections for all of our videos is entirely user driven. We tally votes from comments, DMs, and emails. We do not make any selections ourselves. If any particular product was omitted, it is because it did not have enough votes/requests to make it in the video compared to other products. We hope this helps, but please let us know if you have any additional questions.

These Adapters were selected using a combination of audience requests and Instagram polls, so we had no hand in selecting the lot. That said, we can certainly add more adapters to the follow-on video if y'all want, just let us know here in the comments.
