I always thought that was a pretty awesome detail on Rockstar’s part.
Maybe the bullets got stuck in the body, forcing him into that pose? Or, maybe it’s the only pose that will keep him from falling.

Well, you see John is no longer a human but he’s not a zombie either, he’s what’s called a revenant. A revenant is a holy being unlike a zombie and they only come back to life not because they’re feral beasts but because they have unfinished business in the land of the living, which describes John at the end of undead nightmare pretty well.

Well I mean if you saw a zombie with a gun killing other zombies and not targeting the humans you would be on its side too. Also, by this time in the game pretty much everyone knows who John Marston is. This would make him very recognizable and if you got the Legend of the Apocalypse or Legend of the Undead it would make him more recognizable. If I knew what he had done before he turned into a zombie I would be horrified to be on his wrong side. This man took out 1 army, 2 gangs, and their leaders and killed Javier. He also aided in the Mexican revolution making Abraham the leader of Mexico.
@goblo023 Another great attention to detail is that the explosion from those Retcher zombies (Big green boils that hock toxic loogies) kill other zombies when they explode, but only knock over John when he's alive. However, if you get hit by the explosion when you're Undead/Revenant John, he will die instantly.
I'm surprised Ross would go through the trouble of killing Marston when he'd have a million other things on his plate trying to make the government and the country recover after a zombie apocalypse especially when he's the one who saved the world.
Not to be that guy but it’s not really canon
I'm pretty sure his death here was more or less from either natural causes, or something unrelated to Ross. This is a different reality all together from what I gather.
@@GetBonked Undead John limps and twitches his body in the exact places he would have been shot by Ross and his men.
@@J10005 is it confirmed whether or not his death in UDNM is the same as the Canon death? I know it's story itself isn't Canon, but I'm not sure if it plays out the same when it comes to Ross killing John. I honestly don't know, but it would make sense either way. Even if it wasn't, it would still be a really cool detail only keen eyes would pick up on without being told about it

So if they return the mask John and Arthur can come back to life hopefully they make a rdr 2 undead nightmare

@@freddiemercury8625 it probably takes place before the military and Edgar Ross come and kill John and his family probably when John is spending time with Jack, but then again someone is going to say "Uh it's not canon so it's not really taking place during RDR 1 or 2" but I don't know

We need undead nightmare 2. Imagine the entire Van Der Linde gang rising from the dead, fighting against Micah, Dutch, Javier, and Bill to keep them from causing havoc.
Interesting idea, but there should be more added layers.
That would kind of be weird since Dutch probably would’ve reverted back as the old Dutch because a zombie apocalypse is pretty close to the Wild West. Those were worlds that he pretty much thrived in. The only one Dutch didn’t thrive in or liked was a civilized world. Micah would one of the ones to die first because he’s the guy everyone would want to kill. Not sure about Bill and Javier though.

That would be incredible. One of the main plot holes would be how Uncle died on the same day John did, but here Uncle’s head is blown off as a zombie by John after he attacks Abigale.

Not sure. He may have, but the blood probably decayed, crusted, and fell off. That doesn’t explain his suit not having bullet holes though.

Probably wasn't the same events to occur since this was an alternate timeline. So my guess is that he didn't get taken down by the government given the worlds circumstances.

Undead John Marston's moans, growls, and roars is giving me the creeps. I like him better when he was alive.
Imagine how sick it would have been to see a rdr2 undead nightmare and being able to see undead arthur crawling out of his grave like John. Although if it still took place in 1907, his corpse would be a skeleton. It would probably have to take place in late 1899 or 1900.
But it wouldnt allign with the main story. If it happened before John would know what he is dealing with immediately. Here we see that it happens for the first time. Of course this is a videogame but gaming industries rarely agree on changing the story that they put great effort in making it the way it is to smth that wont make sense. Like Arthur alive as a zombie during RDR 1.
Maybe Arthur could be a Ghost, not exactly a Undead like Marston, of course, Arthur 'd be a moving Skeleton shooting the zombies (including Undead Micah)

I've finished this game twice to 100%. I remember that my favorite weapons were the Semi-Auto Shotgun, Blunderbuss, Mauser Pistol, Holy Water, Tomahawk, Cattleman Revolver, Buffalo Rifle, and the Repeater Carbine. And my outfit of choice was the undead hunter and undead cowboy.
I always LOVED the Henry Repeater. I have a real Henry Repeater too, they’re great firearms!

It's weird that zombified John still gets attacked by zombies and normal townsfolk not scared of John and don't shoot him like the rest. XD Maybe there'll be a remake of this DLC one day for RDR2? But more accurate, so the townsfolk will actually try to take you out like the rest, but have the zombies not attack unless they've sustained damage by the player 1st.

This dlc is great but I would've prefer an actual story dlc that follows the story of John leaving the gang for a whole year

How were you able to progress. Mine glitches out to the point all the zombies have no heads or are purely distorted and I can't progress any missions because they somehow count as normal people, it happens the further west I go into the map, past Fort Mercer. Usually kicks in near tumbleweed.
