Crying during this song is involuntary. It just means you're a normal human being.
Well that makes me feel better 😂🙈
Absolutely. I wish there were more reactions to this song, we all feel it.

All it takes is one time to hear this masterpiece,
To know you will never forget it for the rest of your life!
Loved your reaction!❤

We played this at my son's memorial. He was killed by an IED in Afghanistan. He was in his 6th year in the U.S. Army. He always said he wanted to do one year more than my 35 years. I miss my son so much.
Hey! Welcome to the soul sessions family! Wow! Thankyou for sharing ... so sorry to hear about your son. That can’t have been easy. I’m sure he is with you in spirit or looking down on you with so much love ❤️
Chris Madden so sorry for your loss! I only have one age 19. Can’t fathom that kind of pain. It’s my one true prayer, please let me die before my kids. (Daughter 25 too) even if that means dying right this second! 😭
@@TheHitKing4256 I understand exactly
I broke down reading this. Went through something quite similar. I truly hope you're doing well.
@@SantiAgo-eg5to thank you its a daily struggle but im a warrior and I have to stay strong for my 9 year old grandson. He says all the time he's gonna be a soldier like me and his daddy were.
Idk how Vince, Patty & Ricky ever got through singing this song without crying! It gets to me every time I hear it too!
Dont apologize. Its a song about celebrating life, to another realm, to youthfulness, ultimate happiness.
You know the true talent of an artist when he invokes such emotion. Vince wrote this song for his brother who died. Since this song was written about a real event, the emotion he felt bleeds through to the listener.
Why are you already crying? Because you're listening to the greatest tenor.. ever.
I know why you are crying. It's because this song is a serious kick in the feels.
It sure does 😭😭😭
You are precious.. this song is SO beautiful... Vince Gill's voice is SO beautiful.. It makes me cry buckets every time I hear it.. very, very beautiful!
My uncle died in a car accident in May 1995. This song was released in August 1995. I was driving the first time I heard it and I had to pull over, because I was crying so much. All these years later, I can't hear this song and not cry.
The BEST version of this song I have ever heard!!!!!
Vince Gill, Patty Loveless, Ricky Skaggs all are AMAZING artists!! This song has been blessed by God himself. Has brought many many people peace. B’Shem Yeshua!!
I've heard this song at least a hundred times and I ugly cry every time.
Vince Gill is a great musician and song writer plus more!! I'm a Vince Gill fan for life!!
He’s awesome ❤️
My grandfather died of cancer on Thanksgiving Day 2010 they played the song at the funeral I cried my heart out he was he was a buddy to me my brother my dad not only I will continue on to miss him so my brother and my dad. every time I think of this song or watch it or hear it with every tear that goes through not only my eyes so will my brother and my dad may God bless you for reacting to this video 😭😥
I’m so sorry for your loss 🤎 I’m glad you came across my video and watched so thank you 👏🏾🙏🏽
If you havent heard George Jones "He stopped loving her today" you should add that to your list. Old school country but very sad and beautiful. I was never a country fan until I got older but I love it now.
This song is one of the most played songs at funerals.. In the south, at least.
Well damn... I can understand why!! 🙈 So emotional!
Guts, we had it played at my brother’s funeral in 1998.
Its played at my cousin and uncle and both grandfathers i stay in SC
it was played at my mom's funeral last year...made one of my friends break down and cry as it reminded him of it being played at his grandma's funeral 15 years earlier, and he was very close to her...and yeah, we're in TX
It is nice after many years to know something more about that unforgetable song. I heard it from a amatuer singer's CD at truck stop in NC. Never thought was a famous song. But is was very memorable experience. Just learned tonight 20 years latter, it was a famous song.
Absolutely right girl.bring the tissues ain't nothing random about this song. It'll pull your ❤️ out and put it back a little better than it was 👍👍. ❤️🌎✌️
Vince Gill wrote this song after his brother had died. He performed the song at George Jones' memorial service and he could barely sing the song because he was crying so hard. It broke my heart watching it.
Such an emotional song and video .... 🙈 I don’t actually know how I got through it tbh
He actually wrote this song as a tribute to Keith Whitley after his death. It was not finished until after the death of his brother in which he added an additional verse to tie his brother into the song. Thus, making it a tribute to both.
Vince Gill’s voice is dangerous. His voice hits those nerve endings that brings the tears. I believe he could sing the phone book and make us.
He sure does have an awesome voice! 😍
This song gets me every time 😭
ikr same it reminds me of my nana😭💔she passed away from cancer
Me too every time.
So I cried too. Very deep meaning, full of love and pain
Vince Gill has the voice of an angel, no doubt..This song is the saddest song ever made..I can't stop crying as I'm writing this..Good video!
I know right! Such a beautiful song! 😍
@@SoulSessionSundays oh for sure hun for sure..
You Cry young lady, because you have a tender heart and that is nothing to be sorry for!
Bless you! Thankyou for watching 🙂
3:03 that’s his voice and this music. Bluegrass is so somber and the instruments with the voice just has a way of reaching in your chest and grabbing your heart
Your crying because you have a heart!!! Much love to you. We should all pray someday we see each other on mountain
The purpose of art is to evoke emotion. This song reaches deep into your heart and makes you feel the bittersweetness of remembering a loved one who has passed. Vince wrote it for his brother but I think he wrote it for everyone who loses some special.
Never be sorry for letting something touch your heart angel
Always loved Vince. No one comes close.
He’s awesome ! 🥳
I loved your reactions and comments to Vince Gill's Go Rest High on That Mountain ❤❤
Thank you xx
Don't feel bad about crying. I cried the first time I heard it, too - bawled my eyes out, in fact.
Good to know I’m not alone in that 😂❤️
I've cried every single time I've heard it. It is beautiful, I love it, but it makes me cry.
I still cry every time I hear this! I don’t know of too many people that this wouldn’t affect. We’ve all lost someone and would love these words to send their precious souls to their next destination.❤️
Amazing talent and beautiful song. Amen
This is bluegrass. They call this type of Bluegrass singing High Lonesome.
Love this Song!! Vince, Kathy, and Ricky, just hate the fake crying. Maybe next time?
😂😂😂😂😂
My favorite line - wish I could see the angels faces when they hear your sweet voice sing. Love how this song touches you.
What a beautiful line 😍❤️ Thankyou lovely!
That's what real talent can do to all of us. Vince is gifted. He wrote the song then ripped our hearts out with his beautiful voice. He wrote the song for his friend, his brother, Keith Whitley, who was an amazing artist, after he passed. Check Keith out also. You'll love both of them. What a beautiful soul you have. Never apologize for being human
I’m telling you! Can’t it just ❤️
Tissues are welcome!
DO NOT BE SORRY THAT YOU CRIED. IT ONLY SHOWS THAT YOU HAVE A SENSITIVE HEART. GOD BLESS YOU. Vince Gill wrote this song and finished it when his older brother Bob, had a heart attack and died, He first sang it at Bob's funeral. Now it is sung with its meaning world wide. We live in troubling times and so many are afraid, Put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ. God's children are leaving and going home to heaven soon,
God bless you young lady!
This is called "bluegrass".
It's a type of dirge, so it's peaceful.
The three singers in this are all bluegrass legends. (And Bible believing Christians)
Ricky Scaggs, Allison Kraus and of course, Vince Gill.
Ooooooo I wasn’t aware 🙈 Thankyou for filling me in. Really appreciate it ❤️
@@SoulSessionSundays You're so very welcome sweet sister!
@@SoulSessionSundays My Darlin Curls, this version actually has Patty Loveless singing. She was the original female singer. There is a version with Allison Kraus singing and playing the fiddle and Ricky Skaggs playing the ukulele. That uke really gets me. Give it a shot.
The harmony stack is bluegrass style, the rest isn’t especially, more gospel like than bluegrass.
This is gospel music. No bluegrass here.
Vince Gill now tours and sings with none other than...
The Eagles!❤
Vince Gill (I still believe in you) Faith Hill (There will come a day) Really moving.
Thankyou for your suggestions 😊
It's okay to feel deeply. It's really a gift from God.
Love this! Thank you 🤎
Please don't apologize for crying, I cry everytime I listen to this song . Peace and love 🙏✌💕
if you knew the backstory for this song you would be bawling when you read the title. im a 54 yr old combat vet, and this song CRUSHES me every time i hear it.
I can completely understand why 😭
It's OK...this makes me cry (you probably already know it's about his brother). I am a hippy from the 60's...but Vince Gill is one of my favorite artists...country and all...Peace, Health and Happiness from Halifax, Nova Scotia
Lost my Wife in 2020 after battling Cancer for 2 years
This song hits home
Sending you the biggest of hugs x
Vince Gill got me to like country...
Beautiful reaction, thank you.
Do not feel bad i am a grown man that fishes and hunts. I can field dress Bambi's dad and mom and not shed a tear. But this song.... man, this song gets me every time. It was played at my brother's and my mothers funeral. Every time i hear it. i remember Them and it yanks a tear right out of my soul.
It’s such an emotional and simply beautiful song ... I completely understand ❤️
Love this song even though it gets me everytime! As soon as Vince starts to sing I get goosebumps. ❤
That’s completely understandable ❤️
He wrote this for his brother when he passed.
Really? I actually didn’t know that. Thanks for sharing 🙂 Well it’s such a beautiful song! 😍
Yes. He actually started this song after another country legend that died of alcoholism named Keith Whitley. Then he finished it after the death of his brother and recorded it. Keith Whitley is another artist you should look into. The first verse references some of Keith’s lyrics “no stranger to the rain” and “weren’t afraid to face the devil”. The guy singing with Vince, Ricky Skaggs, grew up with Keith and they actually started their musical career together. Great reactions!!!
Patty Loveless is singing also....
He tried to sing it at George Jones funeral which was a close friend and Vince cried all the way through it
@@dirtyjack68 I usually hate Live performances, but that one w as heartbreaking.
love your heart
Brooks and Dunn I believe ( with the video ) also Alison Krause is an amazing artist to checkout . For a blues style Beth Hart : I’ll take care of you, Caught out in the rain , I’d rather go blind
Love all these suggestions! Thankyou! 😊
We played this song at my son's funeral. He was killed by an IED in Afghanistan just two weeks after I left and retired. It's the perfect song.
Oh wow! So sorry to hear that .... but yes indeed it is a beautiful choice of song 😍
Great job. Love you reactions. Don’t stop.
Patty Lovelace and Vince Gill sing. A watch fight and pray song you would like, also Patty Harlan county
He wrote that song for his brother who died of Lukemia.
You have such a tender heart. Stay that way
Thank you! What a beautiful comment ❤️ I appreciate the love!
Vince Gill wrote this for his brother who had died. I lost my twin brother to kidney disease on Sept 1st 2018., they played this song at his funeral. Then I lost my oldest brother July 3rd 2020 to cancer. He also had a twin, my sister Terri. This original is the best in my opinion. Thank you so much for posting this and your raw and heartfelt emotions. I have the same reaction every time I hear it.
You're not alone Sweety! I'm coming up on the fourth anniversary of losing my big brother. We played this at his wake and I too cried most of the evening.
Country music and Blues share their roots with American Gospel music. These three fabulous artists respectfully share Vince's song for all of us to mourn our loved ones.
Thank You for sharing
You are in my prayers
Hoka Hey
Great reaction beautiful lady country music will move you
Thanks man! I appreciate you! 🙂
It sure will 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Thank you so much
The tears are a God's nod to you. Come on home sister.
The velvet voice of Vince Gill...he is also a master guitarist!
He wrote that song for his brother.
Marc Broussard “Home”. He is older now and just as good!
Brooks and Dunn. “Believe”. This was written about a friend he had as a child.
Love your reactions to music. So pure. Thank you!
Thankyou for watching lovely and Thankyou for your comment also ❤️ Have a blessed day!
It touches any of us
Welcome to a true country song. Country music tells a story and moves you emotionally.
It sure does! 😍😍
Listen to “When I Call Your Name “, another song that will tug on your heart, and “What the Cowgirls Do”, a happy, up tempo song.
he's a bluegrass/country guy one of the best of his generation.
Is he?? 👀 Well I’m learning something new everyday! Thankyou for sharing! 😊
@@SoulSessionSundays if you like instruments you should just look up some bluegrass music its pretty cool.
He wrote song about a brother he lost and you can feel it it in words and music. It tears me up everytime from first note on. I think of my dad who died in 1992. When I was 16
This song demonstrates the amazing power of music and lyrics, second to none! Several years ago a Vince G special was on TV and began to sob like a little baby at the mere THOUGHT of hearing the first note of this song, not having yet heard it. No song has ever moved me more!
You're crying because that's the right thing to do!
Hi, don't ever apolagise for crying, this is real music. This is music with rraw emotion in their voices. unfortunatly, a lot of music being made today doesn't have the raw emotion in the voices because most music has too much auto tuning, especially in today's country. Vince, Patty Loveless, and Ricky Scags are great country music singers. Great reaction, thank you very much.
I can't even imagine how hard it was for Vince Gill to write this song after his brother died. He must feel that grief again to some degree every time he sings it. How could he not since it's a tribute to his brother. But, as I've heard Vince say several times, this song has brought an awful lot of peace to an awful lot of people. Thank you Vince Gill
Thankyou indeed 😍
This is your first video I have seen. EXCELLENT empathy response. You get it. Good job=)
Thanks for watching! ❤️
He wrote for his brother who died of Lukemia. His name was Bobby.
Played at every one my daddy, uncle's cuzins funerals. We never had this song if Vince hadn't wrote this song for his brother. I'm 4ever grateful for Vince, n all music touches your heart. You have reaction that true it's touched your heart. PEACE
Thankyou so much! Wow yeah it seems to be such a popular choice for funerals which explains why it’s sooooo emotional ... what a beautiful song 😭
Please react to Jasmine Thompson & Calium Scott singing "Love is Just a Word". The vocals are jawdropping!!
Your crying because this song has moved you. So much talent here and singing the truth. Welcome to traditional country music.
It was just a beautiful experience hearing this in all honesty ....
There are tons of country music that will rip your heart right out of your chest. If you ever feel the need to have a good cry, listen to Teddy Bear by Red Sovine. But be sure you have plenty of tissues.
Oh no another tear jerker! This should be fun 😂 just kidding ... a love a good cry when it comes to music 😍
I'm cryin whichu.
Joseph Drawbond I’m sorry! 🙈🙈🙈 I really didn’t expect to cry ... but hey lemme give you a tissue ❤️
So beautiful... It will break me down every time.. and?? I listen again😥😥😥
The power of music ❤️😍
This is why i love music no matter who you are where you are whats going on music connects us all almost more than anything else....you can feal the loss in his voice and how much he means every word....love it
Exactly! That’s the beauty of it ❤️😍
Kathy Mattea and Ricky Skaggs are amazing in the harmonies. They did this song live at the Opry for George Jones' memorial and Vince couldn't get through it. It was a sad and beautiful witness. Reminds me of JJ GREY AND MOFRO doing The Sun is Shining Down which should go into the magic jar
*adds to magic jar* 😅😊
Patty loveless not mattea
This was one of my sister's favorite song and I cry every time that I hear it. We played this song at her funeral bcuz she loved God
Vince Gill wrote that song when his brother passed away.
I saw Vince Gill in concert and heard him sing this in concert, he sings it live just as beautiful...and I cried my eyes out through the whole song!! Lol ❤😭
Suchhhh a beautiful and emotive song! Glad I’m not the only crier around 😂😅
@@SoulSessionSundays yes a beautiful voice..lol nope not the only crier around lol 😂
You are a precious young lady, you keep on,Thank You
if you cryin in first minute this gonna be something special, oh it keeps coming
Beautiful
Love God, love good music...this one brings tears everytime
Great reaction..if this song doesnt get to you, nothing does..you took the right way.
Good country music does that. There isnt much left of it, but this sure is the essence
For something different, try Dimash Kudaibergen. Much love from this old cowboy in Texas! SUBBED!! TOO CUTE!! LOL
Thankyou so much for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed! Yes my reaction videos have really given me an opportunity to explore a more diverse range of music and I have to say ... I have been pleasantly surprised by country music! It is beautiful! ❤️
Oh and Thankyou for subscribing!!! 👏🏾 Welcome to the family x
@@SoulSessionSundays you bet. The essence of country music was the best there ever was or will be, and that's Merle Haggard. Called Poet of the Common Man. Thanks for the welcome !!
Oh, lovey! I cried right along with you, and I've heard that song dozens of times. The harmonies and the message just trigger the tear ducts. I'm sending you a Texas-sized hug and lots of 💙. For something a little happier from Vince Gill, check out his song One More Last Chance. It's fun & upbeat and the video cameos a ton of country legends.
That was an emotional one sweet 😢 Bless you! We’re such a pair of softies! 😂 I know right ... it’s crazy. Thankyou I’m sending you a hug right back! I appreciate the suggestion lovely ❤️ I’ll be sure to check it out 😅☺️ Have a lovely day!
Well that was a huge difference! A lot more upbeat and cheerful! Thankyou 😂🙂

You have to do a reaction video to the song Dancing in the sky by Dani and Lizzy.... I promise you will love it!!!!!!!
Just about every southerner plays this at a funeral or decoration day, it's become a family funeral song for us, it was used for my parents and my grandmother
Don't apologize, Vince Gill released this song shortly after I lost my 16, year old 😢 brother. ❤
I’m so sorry to hear that but I’m sure this song brought you some comfort … loss of a loved one is probably one of the worst things we can go through 🤎
Great reaction it gets to everybody
This song gets me thinking about and missing my dad and my son
Sending hugs your way! 🤎
And now my mom
♡ :)
This song is just as beautiful as you - inside & out.
Thought I would cry all through this video because of my brother .... but you made it feel like I was viewing with a friend ... and you made me smile :) Thank you for that.
Please take care, my friend across the pond. Sending love, blessings, and hopefully sending some of the light you shine right back to you! ♡
(Incredible reaction, by the way. Don't ever apologize for crying, there are enough unfeeling people in the world. We're lucky because we're are getting to see such loveliness ♡)
