No because, I really want to belive that all of this was a pay off to the soon to come third season, remember just as how he got Makoto involved because of Oz’s mess up and years later after planning and recruiting difficulties con’s people, Leraunt probably alongside his team had heard of some leads to Dorothy’s werebouts and took their sweet time to plan everything out and figure out a way to bring her back to him. So what if all of this was meant to be a sort off Cinematic parallel to how Makoto got to meet Leraunt when they first meant, it was all planned out from the start by him, now the same is coming full circle again by gaining Dorothy back to him. Just think about it maybe this is why this movie is here for. All so it can work as a introduction to how the Third season could play out.

So what if he knew all along and probably also helped in setting things in place too? Perhaps am informer to Cai since we did saw when the two of them were together and plus, he had a call from Abbey.
Great video, you absolutely nailed it. I loved the movie, but it's telling that throughout the entire movie, I'm constantly in the 'Great Pretender' mindset, constantly trying to figure out what the ploy is and how Laurent is pulling the strings. "Razbluito is a great movie, but it's not a Great Pretender" articulates the issue perfectly 👍

I think part of it is that it *isn't* a standalone product. It being divided the same way that the series was with the 1-1 and those being referred to as Intermissions really seem to hint to a follow up of some kind, and that would explain the amount of loose ends the movie had.
I was pretty confused by the whole plotline about the deal in Razbliuto, so when it was revealed in the end that it was a scam done by the main series main cast I was just surprised and thought "wait, so this was a Great Pretender plotline but from the pov of the scammed person?." I can imagine the disappointment being greater for someone who picked up on all the hints.
I wish we could see more of Leurant I just love the cameos and I also do think the heist happening like that wasn’t very smart but it also still fit in with the story as it was her way of escaping
it's about a few characters nobody knows or cares about, that keep running for their life while the real plot is happening in the background. maybe it'll be worth it if they make a new season and include frog face lady, but i doubt it, so it's kinda of a waste of time.

I agree with your criticism of the climax. I feel like the original great pretender also had a similar issue. It's as though the writers are more interested in conning the audience with one more big twist rather than properly paying off the story they were telling. Spoilers... I felt really apathetic when i found out jay's dad was scammed. So much so that i skipped back wondering whether there was something i missed that made that scene more important and relevant. But, nope. It felt like the ending to a completely different movie playing in the background was put here. I don't hate it as much as the originals ending which i genuinely despise.

Tbh, watching a heist out of the view of the clostest "normal" person possible of it, was just interesting. And you kind of have to admit that Dorothy probably was playing a decoy which made the Boss think SHE was planning something. But in the end it was a plan of diverting attention to one side just to ambush on the other. *To clarify:* for me it is refreshing to see this because the trope of "heist movie" is so washed through, that it bores me just hearing the describtion of one. But this movie pulled a "Godzilla" on us, only showing signs there is one and who the actors are, that it just lets you question everything (like you said in the video) until everything is (mostly) unveiled and over.
I have no idea how you write something as bad as the last arc of great pretender. Like imagine deciding to open a coffee shop because the leader of a child slave ring told you your coffee was good.
I'm sorry but I can't watch this video, youtube if forcing me to watch either 2 minutes of those fake mobil phone game ads, a minute and a half of a lady talking about something I will never use, or a comercial for a game i have no intrest in. it doesn't have a skip ad option so instead of watching this video I puased the ad and I'm comenting instead to prove how stupid RUclips ads are getting. And no, I will not fork over money for ad free viewing.

I loved the movie, it was pretty fun! I hope that Xiang Xiang's arc of self discovery can get some kind of conclusion in the future!
