It is revealed in the redundancy chapters that Talhand is gay and doesn’t actually hide this. So he wouldn’t sleep with Elinalize. Gisu (while it is only implied) is also not really interested in women. I think the main issue between Elinalize and Paul is that he ditched the party and took the party healer with him thus effectively destroying their (previously) strong bond with each other. Elinalize had nowhere to go and actually thought of the party as her family with her being the mother of the family. She was excepted by these people without any prejudice. She thought they would spend at least 30 years together until Paul, Ghislane and Zenith become old but then went and got Zenith pregnant and actually took responsibility for once and disbanded the party. So here’s the answer - Elinalize hated Paul for disbanding the party. But as time passed she realized that there was no helping it as humans tend to abandon their friends over their family and there’s nothing you can do about it…
It was explained in the LN's that it's a VERY big no-no to get involved with party members. It can leave to deaths and the team eventually splitting up, and it's not easy to trust another person with your life, so once you're in a good team and you work together in such a tight knit way you don't want to lose it to stupid behavior.
One thing I think might have been overlooked is not just the issue of marriage, but of family and children in particular. I suspect that, during the argument about breaking the party up, Paul might have pulled the "I'm going to be a parent, you have no idea what that's like" card - and against Elinalise, who very clearly does wish for a family and children of her own and has sacrificed much to do what seemed best for them at the time, that argument would be a right proper spark to ignite a decade-long hatred.
That's an interesting point, though I think he maybe knew her well enough to know she had had children and raised them - it's not something she is secretive about when talking about her curse.
We know that at some point Elinalise AND Ghislaine were in a relationship with Paul-- I distinctly remember there being a part where they reference taking advantage of Ghislaine's mating season + something happening in a labyrinth when they got teleported together(the teleportation being the start of their bond which leads into the mating season). But he ended up failing to take responsibility for either of them, not even Ghislaine-- and eventually got Zenith pregnant. If I had to guess, because Ghislaine/Elinalise weren't pregnant, he didn't feel enough of an emotional burden on abandoning them -- given how serious she was about Rudeus getting with Roxy, seems fairly plausible. There are probably more reasons that we don't know about, and probably never will. Off-hand detail that isn't all that big of a spoiler: Talhand is gay. I don't think she was upset about the party splitting. I'm pretty sure she even encouraged Zenith to get with Paul, taught her the "crawling bed" tactic.
Yeah, I either missed or haven't got to the confirmation that Talhand is gay (I'm on vol 20 at the moment). I thought it was likely from the succubus thing but also he might be asexual or just have a strong resistance to them, but other comments explain that it's confirmed he's gay. Still, I mean, just because he'd never actually be attracted to Elinalise, he'd still be able to er, physically do the job, to help his friend out, if she would die otherwise, I suppose.

You got the Zenith part wrong. Zenith never let Paul touch her but Paul always wanted to. But Zenith secretly liked Paul and learnt cooking from Geese to impress him. One day Zenith agreed to sleep with Paul if he promises to be only exclusive with her from that point on (Cuz she's a Millis follower and believes in monogamy). Paul agrees. Zenith gets pregnant so Paul quits adventuring and uses his connection with Philip to get a well paid stable job as knight. He marries Zenith and settles down with her in Buena village. Thats how he becomes a family man from a harem protagonist
Pretty sure its connected with the destruction of the party. Like you say, all of them where a family. Each of the. Being an outcast or runaway. They only had each other. After he broke up the party each of them needed to go their own way. For elinalise that time was probably special bc she has difficulties getting into Parties due to her Reputation. Paul disbanding the party can be seen as selfish from their view.

It's quite likely that its a combination of reasons. From the lack of stability for the her & the rest of the party to Paul seriously entering into a monogamous relationship with Zenith while they were all still adventuring. Elena clearly had limited options given Talhands distinct lack of interest, so Geese or Paul. If I recall correctly Geese fancied Zenith. Which essentially left her with the one reliable horndog, Paul, who would always happily oblige. After Paul knocked back the advaces of Elena because of, what could easily be seen as, Paul only being monogamous to finally get to sleep with Zenith. It likely irked her considerably, believing that she would never have the same layed back understanding and acceptance again or at least for a very long time. Every racial cultrue and civilisation generally frowned upon the percieved self-indulgant promiscuous behaviour she exhibits in order to survive. She had tried to settle down & raise a family but prejudices against her necessary actions drove her to abandon her family (well multiple family's) to save them from the persecution by association with her. So when Zenith fell pregnant, the rest of the party knew no matter what Paul did the party was doomed to break apart. Paul's not a complete jerkwad so he clearly did right by Zenith in settling down with her to raise the baby. Elena likely resents Paul more than anything else. Paul willingly slept around because he wanted to, not because of a life or death imperative. When Elena tried to settle down, it became obvious to her that the family life was not something she could have with her curse. Meanwhile Paul, whom had been with every woman in and out of their party, got to have that life despite his lifetime of voluntary manwhoring. She would be pretty bitter about that alone. Having learned that he cheated on Zenith with Lillia. Not only is he is still married to Zenith with Lillia as a mistress, but both have had his daughters too boot. That level of hypocrisy likely drove her into completely irrational hatred for him.
That last theory is what I felt was most likely the reason. Never gave it much thought beyond that. I may be a little weird but through most of the story I felt something motherly or familial with Elinalise. Honestly I'm really not sure why. Even when she is sleeping around I always thought in my head cannon that it was all cause of the curse. If not for that everything else we see about her was the real her. Like her loving relationship with Cliff or how she protects Rudy on their journey or with the Sylphy thing. Thanks for the video because it gave me a bunch more to think about her now.
Could have been that they had begun to get sweet on eachother, but Paul ditched her for Zeneth after knocking her up. Paul is actually sort-of a solid dude if you can ignore his warcrime levels of philandering - to an Elf that needs constant maintenance, his libido would be there to keep the curse at bay. Elinalise, secretly wanting to live a "normal" life, may have been way more into the idea than Paul realized so him doing right by Zeneth would have caused a fight. Would also make sense - Paul, if learning nothing else from the nonstop tragedy-spiral that is the teleportation incident, would be able to have picked up on that and likely prompted the apology.
They were all essentially mercenaries of ill repute. As an anime only, I can't tell the reasons for the other members to be loathed (Roxy and the Dwarf) Speaking of Ghislaine: I found it funny how her ring was passed to Eris, given the backstory of the ring... Also, I'm a little disappointed that Eris didn't realise that her family was the biggest customer of the slave traders...

My theory is that it didn't have anything to do with sexual encounters or anything. I believe it has more to do with him reaching out to his family for a steady job. We don't really learn about Talhand until redundancy, but the others are all either outcasts or runaways for whatever reasons. Paul ran away at 12, Zenith at 15, Elinalise was chased out of the great forest, Ghislane left with Gal Falion, Geese was tricked by man God into destroying his whole village, and Talhand left because they never recognized his talent. After building a party of exiles, Paul went back to the family that would take him, an option Elinalise (and geese and Ghislane at the time) doesn't have.
My first impression was that as Sylphie lived in the same town that Paul settled in that Paul might've arranged for Elianise and her son to be separated before she was ready for the separation, basically retroactive foreshadowing Rudy's separation from Sylphie and a reflection of the Boreas Greyrat tradition of separating sons from their families should a play for power fails. Basically resenting Paul for interfering with a painful act that she's had to do several times in her life.
My guess? She agreed to sleep with him (during their old dungeon teleportation incident) because of the curse, but didn't want to because... Paul. He agreed to take advantage of the situation, but last minute used the pull out because he doesn't wanna have a child with her. Left her still suffering from the curse, and feeling like hes mocking her / taking advantage of her.
I think Elinalise's issue with Paul happens after Paul got Zenith pregnant but before the other members of the party found out. Paul comes on to Elinalise after having bedded Zenith, and she reciprocates. Maybe they're in a situation where he's the best available option anyway (with Tallhand "batting for the other team" and Geese...being Geese) and she assumes that he got tired of the obviously more straitlaced Zenith after having finally "conquered" her. Then she finds out that the reason he's turned his carnal attention away from Zenith is because he got her pregnant. Having had children herself, and with her curse making a traditional, loving monogamous relationship...difficult, at best, and seeing someone who we know she did care about (familially, at least, if in no other way) seemingly throw away that opportunity for himself and for Zenith, this understandably disappoints and pisses her off, and is likely the exact event that led to the dissolution of the party. This event sobers up Paul, who as far as we know was completely faithful to Zenith until Lilia seduced him, and adds an even more tragic irony to that latter incident of unfaithfulness, coming as it also did during a Zenith pregnancy. It also adds to the narrative consistency of the story, as what brings them back together is Zenith.
From this point there is a little spoilers of the novels about Tallhand. (10:14) Curious thing, because in a redudancy chapter that narrates the life of Tallhand, it was confirmed that he is homosexual (it is even implied that he had some phisical atraction for Paul), so It is not surprising that the Succubus don't affect him.
Yeah, I hadn't read Redundancy when I made the video, so that's why I didn't refer to him as confirmed gay. I did think he might be, based on the succubus thing, but didn't want to assume in case he was later confirmed to be asexual or just have some kind of resistance to succubi unrelated to that. In Redundancy it is properly explored though.
Personal I don't think either theory fits Elinalise's character, she's too mature than to become spiteful from projecting herself onto paul and I'd think she'd sooner cry tears of joy at Paul being faithful to Zenith than to be offended by it. It's assumed that their feud has to do with zenith/disbandment from what we know and when it comes to party members Elinalise is shown to treat them like younger siblings. She usually just wants the outcome in which everyone is happy, as such I always found it weird for her to be opposed to Paul and Zenith getting together if both of them liked each other, that is unless someone was getting hurt in the process. So after a lot of thought, the only situation that seems likely to me is that of Elinalise, similar to with Roxy and Rudy, was playing matchmaker with zenith and Geese. In my version of how how it went It was obvious to everyone that Geese had a thing for zenith and Elinalise was supporting him which probably including her warding off Paul. Skip to Paul telling the party that Zenith is pregnant and they're getting married, Geese becomes heartbroken and Elinalise gets angry for him since Paul should have been completely aware of Geese's feeling with their argument acting as the final wedge that splits the party. This explains Elinalise's hate for paul for knowingly cucking his friend along with why the party blames him so heavily for their disbandment with Paul and Zenith leaving to have a family, Geese leaving on his own out of depression, and ghislaine eventually leaving to try traveling on her own with half the party already gone.
Tbf geese do know that zenith liked Paul right. I think most of the party other than Paul knew of that. And I think Paul originally was just joking around which then became real and probably that spark the true conflict within the party.

So he had to watch the person he liked fall for someone else and I'll agree Paul treating it like a game must have rubbed it in even more
Sorry to comment on an extremely old video. My theory comes from things that Elinalise says to Rudius when explaining why she won't sleep with him. One is what you said, that she doesn't want to become Paul's daughter, but the other is that she doesn't want Roxy to hate her. And I think this second is the key. My theory is that directly after Paul promised Zenith that he would never sleep around, Elinalise became influenced by the curse, and before she could find a willing man, Paul forced himself on her, which she enjoyed while it was happening, only to be crushed by guilt once it was over. But knowing that Zenith would hate her and that it would leave Zenith's baby fatherless if she found out about Paul's broken promise, it forced Elinalise to keep the incident a secret from Zenith and kept her from taking her anger out on Paul for his betrayal. But since her curse and enjoyment of sex was also a factor, that's why she could admit years later that she wasn't completely blameless (although it was really all Paul's fault). Finally just a quick correction. The katakana for Elinalise's name indicates that the final "e" in her name is pronounced. It should be pronounced Ehleena-lee-say. Also the "s" in Ghislaine's name is not supposed to be pronounced. It's (hard g) Gee-lane ("lane" as in Lois Lane from the Superman stories). The katakana ends Ghislaine's name with a "nu" sound, but that's pretty common for French-based words and names that would normally be transliterated into English with just an "n" sound.
8:40. But this theory could still work tho. Maybe Elinalise did hate Paul’s promiscuous nature (because he wasn’t cursed and acted that way) and actually called him out about it. It’s possible that because she called him out about it, it’s possible they could’ve had a big argument and maybe Paul and her said some awful things to each other. Hence why Paul would know what he needed to apologise for, and Elinalise would admit she was in the wrong, because it isn’t her business to call out somebody else life choices or decisions
I think the 2nd theory (where the party broke because Paul left) is the reason. During the Tallahand Arc, he described how all of the members of the Black Wolf Fang were all outcasts. It was Paul who discovered these people and made them belong to a "family" once again but because Paul just cant keep it with himself, he just has to impregnate one of them. The party broke up and it was all from a singular decision from Paul (they maybe expected them to go on adventuring after the baby was born). As for Elinalise, the Black Wolf Fang was her family after spending so much time being an outcast. We learn from her story that she once married and had a fairly good life until her husband was murdered and she had to resort to being promiscuous. She was just bouncing all around but it all changed when she met Paul and now she had somewhere she can call home. Paul shattered that home and they can only blame Paul with this since Paul was really wooing Zenith like crazy. They tried to warn Zenith to not be attached to Paul but Paul was insistent and thus, the party broke up. Family is something Elinalise thought would be impossible for her again but she got blueballed when she finally had another family only to shatter a few years later.
Everyone from Paul's party have had a reason to ''hate'' Paul. Everyone from that party was an outcast in their own way. Paul left the Notus House, Zenith left the Latreia House, Tahland left his village, Gisu/Gesee was the last member of his race, Ghislaine was an outcast from the Dedoldia tribe and Elinalise had a bad reputation due to her curse (and personality). Paul had a relationship with both Ghislaine and Elinalise, but once Zenith got pregnant, Paul and Zenith left the party and the Fangs of the Black Wolf party was disbanded. (in otherwords he was doing it with all the 3 female members of their party) So the members who were once outcasts in the world, went back to being outcasts. That is the reason why they hate Paul. As for Zenith, well, Paul did the deed with Lilia, though Zenith did forgive him afterwords. But so did the rest of the party during their reunion, so by the time, Paul died, everyone had forgiven him.
I think the hate from the party is kinda overstated too. Geese seems pretty friendly to Paul and doesn't have much bad to say about him aside from his feud with Rudy. His feelings about Paul breaking up the party is that he blames himself for getting him with Zenith by teaching her to cook, so he doesn't even blame him for that. Ghislaine may understand that Paul is a womanizing scumbag conceptually, but from what I see with Linia and Pursena, his actions and morals may be more forgivable in Doldia culture so she mostly ignores it. I don't think they were in touch after the party split, she just happened to be working for Philip when he called his cousin for a favor (side note: I think Paul cut ties with the Notos line completely, and got his house by begging the Sauros family for his spot, hence why he is just Paul Greyrat, not Paul Notos Greyrat). Ghislaine also didn't seem to have any bad opinions or direct animosity towards Paul, aside from him still claiming her as his woman while (somewhat) monogamously devoted to his wife. Talhand probably thinks his womanizing behavior is pretty scummy and may resent him for breaking up the party, but that's probably it. He thinks of Paul as scum conceptually but doesn't have any ill will against him personally since he never slighted him (unless, like Elinalise, he's upset he got rejected /jk) And you summed up Elinalise pretty well. She probably got rejected in a time of need and they got in a back & forth when the party split. Or maybe the hate is justified and they've seen him do worse things than that night with young Lilia
Talhand isn't affected by Succubus. He's gay and he's the only member that Elinalise who talks to about their taste of men. Heck, he's with her when they're hunting for men. Zenith & Elinalise are the ones who taught the basics of math to Ghyslaine. Gisu the one who teaches Ghyslaine how to keep count of her travelling supplies. Gisu taught Zenith how to cook. Most likely she hated Paul because of the disbandment of the Family-like party they have. A Family that's she thought she will never have due to her curse.

I don't know if I am on the right track, but I wonder if Zenith does not get pregnant easily like Elinalise (there doesn't seem to be a time frame when Paul begs Phillip for a job, but I might be reaching here). It did take her five years to get pregnant with Norn. So, I am thinking Paul made promises to Zenith to get her to sleep with him and Paul being Paul (broken promises statement by Zenith when Rudeus blew a hole in their house) and maybe Zenith and him were having problems and he had sex with a random woman (I am thinking Ghislaine because she is not exactly friendly with him while she is very friendly with Zenith) when he gets drunk as he is wont to do. I feel that Elinalise respects Zenith so much that she would never sleep with Paul even if she was desperate. Gotta remember that Gisu might be an option if they were in the middle of a labyrinth. Of course, this might be one of the great mysteries of all time.
I can see what you said happening and I think another reason she would apologize is cause she said “she wouldn’t sleep with someone who’s in a relationship”
Personally, it always eked a bit of jealousy/hurt pride from Elinalise. That she put SO much emphasis on not wanting to be part of his family makes me think she was genuinely quite interested or invested in a relationship with Paul. We know that Elinalise does actually appreciate having a long-term partner, and that she had been in FotBW for an especially long period of time (when compared to the innumerable stories of fractured parties she left in her wake). Even if it was closer to an open relationship (given Paul's incident w/ Ghislaine & Elinalise's curse requirements), I can easily see that being quite a comfortable situation for the lot. Then after so long of the party being together and being so obviously close, Zenith comes in & develops feelings, makes a singular demand of Paul and that's it. Suddenly Elinalise (& Ghislaine?) are cut off cold turkey, and then Paul and Zenith up and leave them all behind to fend for themselves. It may well have felt like being tossed aside, or maybe just that a found family was suddenly ripped away. Either would be pretty damn heart breaking & could definitely lead toward the resentment and aversion to potentially rejoining his family in any sense.

Interesting love triangle theory where geese liked zenith, zenith liked Paul and paul liked any female in the party lol but perhaps since paul was human and understood elinalise would out live him, he only chose to fool around with her and never considered committing to her. Which may have led to the potential argument and rift between them
I was caught off-guard by that episode. I did not understand the curse part but I don't think there was any information on that in the episode. This is good information... And I don't mind being spoiled.
At this point in the anime, not knowing the reason that Elinalise is a nympho makes the 1 vs 5 scene seem unnecessarily gratuitous. Hate watchers have a field day with it, but its actually important to defining the depth of her curse, and the extent/attitude with which she embraces it. Its a vital plot point to some later storylines. Nearly every scene in the anime is there because a story line can not afford to have it cut.
I have to add. For anyone reading this. In anime, risqué scenes are usually considered fan service, and a scene that requires zero brain matter. In Mushoku Tensei, if something risqué is happening, its likely not fan service, but dramatic storytelling. Don't turn your brain off, take note of who, what, and consider why/what are they thinking. Its unironically part of the plot and one storyline or another, or telling us something about the characters involved that won't be spelled out in another way.

Even knowing about the curse and knowing that scene was going to probably be in the episode, I feel like in both the LN and anime, if you don't yet know why Elinalise does stuff like that, it was played more for comedy (Roxy's reaction) than ecchi... But it's an adult show and so I don't see why anyone would be shocked by that scene anyway, even if it was played as ecchi - it'd be sillier to pretend nothing like that would ever happen in this kind of setting.
You know I would be completely interested in a series based on Paul’s life. He appears to be like an isekai or rather in this case a fantasy protagonist. He seems like an outcast like shield hero within his family and he gets his own beast girl to train to fight alongside him and goes on many adventures
maybe he propose to elinalise then reneged on it. As to why elinalise said she erred too. I think she slept with someone else even though she was going to settle with paul for the marriage. Paul end up with Zenith and promised her to be faithful which broke up the party because paul wanted a settled life for his future family with zenith
The name "Ghislane" is pronounced as "gill-lane" and is a french name. The s is silent. Also In Japanese her name is spelt ギレーヌ (Girein) which is proof of how this name should be pronounced.

Or Paul forced himself to Elinalise telling her to just comply coz he know she needs it. However, at that time, she didn't feel like it. And I bet this probably happened while Paul is already in a relationship with Zenith and she does not intent to hurt her friend's feelings.
I don't think that seems as likely - from what we can tell Paul did do right by Zenith at first, up until she was pregnant with Norn. Also, if that was the case, I don't think Elinalise would have said she was in the wrong back then too, when they made up, if this was the situation, because she wouldn't have been.

Yes, they probably would. Everyone else seemed to be teleported with someone else if they were touching them at that moment (Lilia and Aisha, Rudeus and Eris, Paul and Norn, Hilda and Philip, for instance).
Hey. I like ur content. And as this i have only seen the anime and ur videos. My best thought at this moment is that this is directly from the writer and trying to showcaae how phycological impressions from early ages affect ppl in adulthood. In this case, pervertism and feelings can get confused becuse either A no one taught them how to use them, or B, someone taught them incorrectly. I get it, social acceptace doesnt make it right. Also so reading a spoiler but in relation to re zero, what if normal folk in from another world in re zero can’t use magic unless they are from that world which means Subaru was originally from the world so lending to the fact he’s originally from Lugnica. Unless it’s established anyone can have magic if they enter that world. A thought that came from mushoku tensei. Also I realized now how important making up with Eris is now despite what goes on based on more spoilers. Also how important all 3 are to him even more so
In Re:Zero the gate that lets you use magic is described as an invisible organ, so I think basically everyone would have it, it just wouldn't do anything in a world where magic doesn't exist.

The teleportation incident wasn't randomly teleporting people. It used their mana to judge them, the greater their mana-pool the further the distance. This is why Zenith and Eris+Rudy were sent so far. And why the butler wasn't, nor was Paul and Norn.
Interesting theory but if that were the case this would imply that Zenith would have more mana than Sylphie as she was teleported further away. I really like the idea though!
@@LeeSunKyuu you might actually be right. Sylphy is indeed quite strong, but let's not forget that Zenith was a S rank Adventurer, it says quite a lot about her... It might also have something to do with Fate. In all the loops of Orsted she befriends Ariel... It's quite clear it has to be mana based as each of the teleportees were drained of mana.
We know for a fact that the incident sucked part of the victim's mana, but if the distance they were teleported was affected by that, then most people would've been teleported just a few meters or so, not entire continents like one of the kids that bullied Sylphy. As the incident was caused by the miko opening a time-space rift and by Rudeus unknowingly changing the fate of the world with his actions I like to think that the place each person got teleported was influenced by their fate

Paul held out on cheating until he was tempted. It stands to reason that Elinalise was horny and he took the chance even though he was already with Zenith. This might have been one of the contributing factors to the fracture of the party. Ergo, Elinalise was angry at Paul for being tempted and Elinalise also feels some responsibility over her curse.
There's one thing that was completely amiss, and would explain perfectly why she, specifically, hates Paul. She has children, most, full grown adults, and her children are, without a doubt, good looking. Is it so far fetched to assume Paul, broke the heart of one of those children? She herself cannot intervene, since she tries to separate the taint her presence brings, from her children, so she cannot mention that Paul had his way with one of them, but she can hate the living hell out of it. She always says that those who sleep with her know exactly what they are getting into. But Paul doesn't extend that curtesy, and it's understandable.
Also curious about your thoughts on the hero and the divine beast theories. I already have an idea based on spoilers. Really can’t help spoiling but I heard a few interesting things

Nah it's in the main story who it is, yeah, it's fairly late on but it's not in the final arc or anything. If you want to know I'll put it below: It's Rudy's second daughter Lara (Roxy is her mother). Rudey is given a scroll to summon a guardian animal to protect his family, and when he uses it, the sacred beast comes through. At this point Roxy is still pregnant with Lara. The beast protects all of the family, but stays close to pregnant Roxy then Lara when she's born. After a while, Rudeus returns to the great forest to explain to the beastmen he met in the last couple of episodes what happened to their sacred beast, and they tell him Lara is the hero. ETA I had to edit this because I wrote Paul instead of Rudeus - I just woke up lol!

I hadn't noticed it was confirmed Talhand is gay when I made the video, and didn't want to say it as an assumption in case I was wrong! People have mentioned it in the comments though. It will become clear about Gisu in the next couple of episodes, but while that does feel like a small world thing, the way he met Rudy was not a coincidence...
First, we know that Zenith basically got pregnant on like their first time together. So there wasn't going to be a lot of adventuring after that, so the discussed scenario of Elinalise getting caught without a man is unlikely. I think the more likely scenario is that Elinalise and Paul were super close, like partners in crime. Paul was probably the closest thing Elinalise thought she'd ever come to having a "husband," at least in the sense that he would always be in her life, but in a very open way for both of them, so she thought they were well suited to each other, and they probably had a fairly formal understanding along the those lines. Zenith's condition for bedding Paul, was that he had to swear off all other women, which would be a betrayal of his existing relationship with Elinalise, but he went ahead and did this in order to be with Zenith. It's for this reason Elinalise didn't want to bed Rudeus, and become Paul's daughter, as she had previously seen Paul as "hers" and thus to be in that child position, with the child of both Paul's and Zenith's (the woman Paul betrayed her for) none the less, just wasn't something she could stomach. This would also explain why later Elinalise made sure to point out to Paul that he and Zenith were like her kids, since Rudeus was now her grandchild. Knowing this would rub him the wrong way, just like the idea of bring his daughter rubbed her the wrong way, so it was an uno-reverse moment.
That’s an interesting idea for keeping women in succubi infested area. It could have been something that was left off since it’s been quietly resolved. It’s a good thing that it’s being adapted properly since there are many points that could be not included that would cause issues later down the line and especially if it was rushed. I could see elinalise was really in need of someone because of her curse. Also not explaining the curse and the complexity would cause lots of issues for those watching some of her scenes despite the fact it shouldn’t be a big deal if she was having sex whenever and with whoever
The curse isn't explained in that scene in the novel either, so it's reasonable that it wasn't in the anime there either. People will just have to deal with it! I think it makes it better that at first you think she's just having fun, and also maybe think she's not taking their quest as seriously as Roxy if she is doing that instead of looking for information the normal way, but when you get to know her better and find out the details of the curse it changes how you see her actions.

No, there is no flight magic. Teleportation magic exists but it's illegal and kept secret by the few people who use it. Basically, people have to travel the long way and it can take months or even years to complete journeys between continents.
could be a deep messy one which I don't believe is impossible, where she got pregnant with his baby but he didn't care and they kept adventuring just to lose it in the process with her caring so much about family and her children making her devastated. To then find out that zenith is pregnant, then Paul wanting out. So she loses a kid due to Paul not caring just for zenith to get pregnant and Paul cares all of a sudden. Would start a huge argument that wouldn't ever be shared because she doesn't want to ruin zeniths and Paul's relationship. Would explain not wanting to see him but also not telling anyone of what happened. The other option is simply feeling betrayed where she was invited to the party by Paul and also uses others (I feel like she is a person who wouldn't hold grudges with being used but holds grudge's with people hurting or taking advantage of others she cares about) just for him to say to her he will do better just for him to get zenith pregnant and leave making her feel like he never actually got better.
I think Paul probably could have cured her of it by giving her a child cause she was in love with him at one point. Could have been with her for a little while so her affection grew and wanted a "normal life" with him but he just dipped off with Zenith when she was pregnant. Basically, he could possibly cured her but he dipped out on her when she was in love with him and got another woman pregnant (Zenith). Her curse is "Lust" and a very strong bond of singular love could have cured it potentially if a child is produced from that. The child wouldn't have much of the curse as it would be dulled down or diminish completely. Paul was the answer to it but he just left her behind for some other woman, a woman she was extremely close to. That'd cause problems for sure as she has no way to cure it herself
Having a child doesn't cure the curse (she has had many children), and Paul wasn't really someone who did research and stuff like Cliff, so I don't think he could or would have cured it.

Yes, but that doesn't have anything to do with Elinalise - she had separated from Paul's group at the time so wouldn't even know about this. Lilia seduced Paul the time he got her pregnant but they actually knew each other before he married Zenith, and he'd basically forced himself on her back then.
⚠️ SPOILER WARNING ⚠️ Turns out, she was found in a coma like state literally crystallized inside a labyrinth. When this happens you often develop these conditions which are considered a type of gift or curse. She has no memories of her past. After she was found, adventurers escorted her to the elf village presumably where she was from. People recognized her in the elf village and she even found her supposed husband. Due to her curse from the labrynth, she is forced to have a insane amount of sex or else her life force slowly depletes until she dies. She fucked all the dudes in the village and her husband left her. The other wives of the village kicked her out and banned her from ever returning. Shortly after she becomes an adventurer and joins Paul’s team. Paul being the play boy that he is, fcked the sht outta her all the time. It became a regular thing on trips and she began to feel like she finally found someone who understood her and didn’t care about her curse. That was until Paul met Rudy’s mom and he quit the team to get married and have children. The poor elf girl felt betrayed because she developed feelings for Paul but they were never returned. End of story 👏🏼 this was definitely something they explored in the light novel but idk how far the manga gets or about the web novel…
Yeah. That's my understanding as well. I know she was kicked out of the elf village but I don't remember her husband leaving her. I thought she had sex to gain crystals for her husband that made him rich but he eventually died. Elinalise was madly in love with Paul. She loves sex but doesn't prefer randoms. She thought she had found a soulmate in Paul who could match her libido and didn't view her as a pariah. The fact was all the female adventurers in Black Fang as well as probably Talhand were probably in love with Paul. Scum or not, Paul was very charismatic. There was hint of rivalry between Ghyslaine and Elinalise when they reminisced at the inn near the end of the story but Ghyslaine as a beast person couldn't have sex unless she was in heat so that probably ruled her out. Elinalise was more outspoken and was incredibly hurt when Paul chose to live a conventional life with Zenith. She felt Paul rejected her because of her promiscuity, which may have been the case. That is why she is so devoted to Cliff. She wanted to be accepted and assumed no one would marry her given her curse. She wants a family like everyone else. That is the point the author is trying to make because "purity" is an obsession with Japanese men.
Another clue is in Elinalise's relationship with Roxy. She is not against polygamy as she told her even when you would expect her to be in that particular instance because of (massive spoiler). That tells me she would have been fine with a polygamous relationship with Paul as well but that Paul took Zenith's side and followed the Millis belief on monogamy. She felt betrayed and I imagine the sex had been really hot and heavy between the two for some time. She can't become Paul's daughter-in-law because Rudy reminds her of Paul and her lost love. Later, it would betray the person who she thought would be the only person willing to marry her.

It is revealed in the redundancy chapters that Talhand is gay and doesn’t actually hide this. So he wouldn’t sleep with Elinalize.
Gisu (while it is only implied) is also not really interested in women.
I think the main issue between Elinalize and Paul is that he ditched the party and took the party healer with him thus effectively destroying their (previously) strong bond with each other. Elinalize had nowhere to go and actually thought of the party as her family with her being the mother of the family. She was excepted by these people without any prejudice. She thought they would spend at least 30 years together until Paul, Ghislane and Zenith become old but then went and got Zenith pregnant and actually took responsibility for once and disbanded the party.
So here’s the answer - Elinalize hated Paul for disbanding the party. But as time passed she realized that there was no helping it as humans tend to abandon their friends over their family and there’s nothing you can do about it…

It was explained in the LN's that it's a VERY big no-no to get involved with party members. It can leave to deaths and the team eventually splitting up, and it's not easy to trust another person with your life, so once you're in a good team and you work together in such a tight knit way you don't want to lose it to stupid behavior.

One thing I think might have been overlooked is not just the issue of marriage, but of family and children in particular. I suspect that, during the argument about breaking the party up, Paul might have pulled the "I'm going to be a parent, you have no idea what that's like" card - and against Elinalise, who very clearly does wish for a family and children of her own and has sacrificed much to do what seemed best for them at the time, that argument would be a right proper spark to ignite a decade-long hatred.
That's an interesting point, though I think he maybe knew her well enough to know she had had children and raised them - it's not something she is secretive about when talking about her curse.

We know that at some point Elinalise AND Ghislaine were in a relationship with Paul-- I distinctly remember there being a part where they reference taking advantage of Ghislaine's mating season + something happening in a labyrinth when they got teleported together(the teleportation being the start of their bond which leads into the mating season).
But he ended up failing to take responsibility for either of them, not even Ghislaine-- and eventually got Zenith pregnant. If I had to guess, because Ghislaine/Elinalise weren't pregnant, he didn't feel enough of an emotional burden on abandoning them -- given how serious she was about Rudeus getting with Roxy, seems fairly plausible.
There are probably more reasons that we don't know about, and probably never will. Off-hand detail that isn't all that big of a spoiler: Talhand is gay. I don't think she was upset about the party splitting. I'm pretty sure she even encouraged Zenith to get with Paul, taught her the "crawling bed" tactic.
Yeah, I either missed or haven't got to the confirmation that Talhand is gay (I'm on vol 20 at the moment). I thought it was likely from the succubus thing but also he might be asexual or just have a strong resistance to them, but other comments explain that it's confirmed he's gay. Still, I mean, just because he'd never actually be attracted to Elinalise, he'd still be able to er, physically do the job, to help his friend out, if she would die otherwise, I suppose.

You got the Zenith part wrong. Zenith never let Paul touch her but Paul always wanted to. But Zenith secretly liked Paul and learnt cooking from Geese to impress him. One day Zenith agreed to sleep with Paul if he promises to be only exclusive with her from that point on (Cuz she's a Millis follower and believes in monogamy). Paul agrees. Zenith gets pregnant so Paul quits adventuring and uses his connection with Philip to get a well paid stable job as knight. He marries Zenith and settles down with her in Buena village. Thats how he becomes a family man from a harem protagonist

Pretty sure its connected with the destruction of the party. Like you say, all of them where a family. Each of the. Being an outcast or runaway. They only had each other. After he broke up the party each of them needed to go their own way. For elinalise that time was probably special bc she has difficulties getting into Parties due to her Reputation. Paul disbanding the party can be seen as selfish from their view.
But Elinalise is like 200 years old, so She probably knows that Adventurer Parties often split up. So it doesn't really fit for me.

It's quite likely that its a combination of reasons. From the lack of stability for the her & the rest of the party to Paul seriously entering into a monogamous relationship with Zenith while they were all still adventuring.
Elena clearly had limited options given Talhands distinct lack of interest, so Geese or Paul.
If I recall correctly Geese fancied Zenith. Which essentially left her with the one reliable horndog, Paul, who would always happily oblige.
After Paul knocked back the advaces of Elena because of, what could easily be seen as, Paul only being monogamous to finally get to sleep with Zenith.
It likely irked her considerably, believing that she would never have the same layed back understanding and acceptance again or at least for a very long time.
Every racial cultrue and civilisation generally frowned upon the percieved self-indulgant promiscuous behaviour she exhibits in order to survive.
She had tried to settle down & raise a family but prejudices against her necessary actions drove her to abandon her family (well multiple family's) to save them from the persecution by association with her.
So when Zenith fell pregnant, the rest of the party knew no matter what Paul did the party was doomed to break apart.
Paul's not a complete jerkwad so he clearly did right by Zenith in settling down with her to raise the baby.
Elena likely resents Paul more than anything else. Paul willingly slept around because he wanted to, not because of a life or death imperative.
When Elena tried to settle down, it became obvious to her that the family life was not something she could have with her curse.
Meanwhile Paul, whom had been with every woman in and out of their party, got to have that life despite his lifetime of voluntary manwhoring.
She would be pretty bitter about that alone. Having learned that he cheated on Zenith with Lillia. Not only is he is still married to Zenith with Lillia as a mistress, but both have had his daughters too boot.
That level of hypocrisy likely drove her into completely irrational hatred for him.
That last theory is what I felt was most likely the reason. Never gave it much thought beyond that. I may be a little weird but through most of the story I felt something motherly or familial with Elinalise. Honestly I'm really not sure why. Even when she is sleeping around I always thought in my head cannon that it was all cause of the curse. If not for that everything else we see about her was the real her. Like her loving relationship with Cliff or how she protects Rudy on their journey or with the Sylphy thing. Thanks for the video because it gave me a bunch more to think about her now.
Could have been that they had begun to get sweet on eachother, but Paul ditched her for Zeneth after knocking her up. Paul is actually sort-of a solid dude if you can ignore his warcrime levels of philandering - to an Elf that needs constant maintenance, his libido would be there to keep the curse at bay. Elinalise, secretly wanting to live a "normal" life, may have been way more into the idea than Paul realized so him doing right by Zeneth would have caused a fight.
Would also make sense - Paul, if learning nothing else from the nonstop tragedy-spiral that is the teleportation incident, would be able to have picked up on that and likely prompted the apology.
Paul's lucky that He didn't get arrested. Seriously sneaking into a Woman's room and taking advantage of Her.

My theory is that it didn't have anything to do with sexual encounters or anything. I believe it has more to do with him reaching out to his family for a steady job. We don't really learn about Talhand until redundancy, but the others are all either outcasts or runaways for whatever reasons. Paul ran away at 12, Zenith at 15, Elinalise was chased out of the great forest, Ghislane left with Gal Falion, Geese was tricked by man God into destroying his whole village, and Talhand left because they never recognized his talent. After building a party of exiles, Paul went back to the family that would take him, an option Elinalise (and geese and Ghislane at the time) doesn't have.
Loved the Halloween theme Nat.
My first impression was that as Sylphie lived in the same town that Paul settled in that Paul might've arranged for Elianise and her son to be separated before she was ready for the separation, basically retroactive foreshadowing Rudy's separation from Sylphie and a reflection of the Boreas Greyrat tradition of separating sons from their families should a play for power fails. Basically resenting Paul for interfering with a painful act that she's had to do several times in her life.
My guess?
She agreed to sleep with him (during their old dungeon teleportation incident) because of the curse, but didn't want to because... Paul.
He agreed to take advantage of the situation, but last minute used the pull out because he doesn't wanna have a child with her.
Left her still suffering from the curse, and feeling like hes mocking her / taking advantage of her.
To be completely honest I love the Halloween theme is Halloween theme very awesome. But I do like the discussion of this it is very curious.
Even though I'm watching this After Holloween, the animations and the animated person talking just really seem to make it worth it.

I think Elinalise's issue with Paul happens after Paul got Zenith pregnant but before the other members of the party found out. Paul comes on to Elinalise after having bedded Zenith, and she reciprocates. Maybe they're in a situation where he's the best available option anyway (with Tallhand "batting for the other team" and Geese...being Geese) and she assumes that he got tired of the obviously more straitlaced Zenith after having finally "conquered" her. Then she finds out that the reason he's turned his carnal attention away from Zenith is because he got her pregnant. Having had children herself, and with her curse making a traditional, loving monogamous relationship...difficult, at best, and seeing someone who we know she did care about (familially, at least, if in no other way) seemingly throw away that opportunity for himself and for Zenith, this understandably disappoints and pisses her off, and is likely the exact event that led to the dissolution of the party.
This event sobers up Paul, who as far as we know was completely faithful to Zenith until Lilia seduced him, and adds an even more tragic irony to that latter incident of unfaithfulness, coming as it also did during a Zenith pregnancy. It also adds to the narrative consistency of the story, as what brings them back together is Zenith.
From this point there is a little spoilers of the novels about Tallhand.
(10:14) Curious thing, because in a redudancy chapter that narrates the life of Tallhand, it was confirmed that he is homosexual (it is even implied that he had some phisical atraction for Paul), so It is not surprising that the Succubus don't affect him.
Yeah, I hadn't read Redundancy when I made the video, so that's why I didn't refer to him as confirmed gay. I did think he might be, based on the succubus thing, but didn't want to assume in case he was later confirmed to be asexual or just have some kind of resistance to succubi unrelated to that. In Redundancy it is properly explored though.

Personal I don't think either theory fits Elinalise's character, she's too mature than to become spiteful from projecting herself onto paul and I'd think she'd sooner cry tears of joy at Paul being faithful to Zenith than to be offended by it. It's assumed that their feud has to do with zenith/disbandment from what we know and when it comes to party members Elinalise is shown to treat them like younger siblings. She usually just wants the outcome in which everyone is happy, as such I always found it weird for her to be opposed to Paul and Zenith getting together if both of them liked each other, that is unless someone was getting hurt in the process. So after a lot of thought, the only situation that seems likely to me is that of Elinalise, similar to with Roxy and Rudy, was playing matchmaker with zenith and Geese. In my version of how how it went It was obvious to everyone that Geese had a thing for zenith and Elinalise was supporting him which probably including her warding off Paul. Skip to Paul telling the party that Zenith is pregnant and they're getting married, Geese becomes heartbroken and Elinalise gets angry for him since Paul should have been completely aware of Geese's feeling with their argument acting as the final wedge that splits the party. This explains Elinalise's hate for paul for knowingly cucking his friend along with why the party blames him so heavily for their disbandment with Paul and Zenith leaving to have a family, Geese leaving on his own out of depression, and ghislaine eventually leaving to try traveling on her own with half the party already gone.
Tbf geese do know that zenith liked Paul right. I think most of the party other than Paul knew of that. And I think Paul originally was just joking around which then became real and probably that spark the true conflict within the party.

Sorry to comment on an extremely old video.
My theory comes from things that Elinalise says to Rudius when explaining why she won't sleep with him. One is what you said, that she doesn't want to become Paul's daughter, but the other is that she doesn't want Roxy to hate her. And I think this second is the key.
My theory is that directly after Paul promised Zenith that he would never sleep around, Elinalise became influenced by the curse, and before she could find a willing man, Paul forced himself on her, which she enjoyed while it was happening, only to be crushed by guilt once it was over.
But knowing that Zenith would hate her and that it would leave Zenith's baby fatherless if she found out about Paul's broken promise, it forced Elinalise to keep the incident a secret from Zenith and kept her from taking her anger out on Paul for his betrayal. But since her curse and enjoyment of sex was also a factor, that's why she could admit years later that she wasn't completely blameless (although it was really all Paul's fault).
Finally just a quick correction. The katakana for Elinalise's name indicates that the final "e" in her name is pronounced. It should be pronounced Ehleena-lee-say. Also the "s" in Ghislaine's name is not supposed to be pronounced. It's (hard g) Gee-lane ("lane" as in Lois Lane from the Superman stories). The katakana ends Ghislaine's name with a "nu" sound, but that's pretty common for French-based words and names that would normally be transliterated into English with just an "n" sound.

But this theory could still work tho. Maybe Elinalise did hate Paul’s promiscuous nature (because he wasn’t cursed and acted that way) and actually called him out about it. It’s possible that because she called him out about it, it’s possible they could’ve had a big argument and maybe Paul and her said some awful things to each other. Hence why Paul would know what he needed to apologise for, and Elinalise would admit she was in the wrong, because it isn’t her business to call out somebody else life choices or decisions
I think the 2nd theory (where the party broke because Paul left) is the reason. During the Tallahand Arc, he described how all of the members of the Black Wolf Fang were all outcasts. It was Paul who discovered these people and made them belong to a "family" once again but because Paul just cant keep it with himself, he just has to impregnate one of them. The party broke up and it was all from a singular decision from Paul (they maybe expected them to go on adventuring after the baby was born).
As for Elinalise, the Black Wolf Fang was her family after spending so much time being an outcast. We learn from her story that she once married and had a fairly good life until her husband was murdered and she had to resort to being promiscuous. She was just bouncing all around but it all changed when she met Paul and now she had somewhere she can call home. Paul shattered that home and they can only blame Paul with this since Paul was really wooing Zenith like crazy. They tried to warn Zenith to not be attached to Paul but Paul was insistent and thus, the party broke up.
Family is something Elinalise thought would be impossible for her again but she got blueballed when she finally had another family only to shatter a few years later.
At least Lise is happy at the end :)
Everyone from Paul's party have had a reason to ''hate'' Paul.
Everyone from that party was an outcast in their own way. Paul left the Notus House, Zenith left the Latreia House, Tahland left his village, Gisu/Gesee was the last member of his race, Ghislaine was an outcast from the Dedoldia tribe and Elinalise had a bad reputation due to her curse (and personality).
Paul had a relationship with both Ghislaine and Elinalise, but once Zenith got pregnant, Paul and Zenith left the party and the Fangs of the Black Wolf party was disbanded. (in otherwords he was doing it with all the 3 female members of their party)
So the members who were once outcasts in the world, went back to being outcasts.
That is the reason why they hate Paul.
As for Zenith, well, Paul did the deed with Lilia, though Zenith did forgive him afterwords. But so did the rest of the party during their reunion, so by the time, Paul died, everyone had forgiven him.
I always thought she was upset because of the break up of the party, but your theories are pretty nice too.

I think the hate from the party is kinda overstated too.
Geese seems pretty friendly to Paul and doesn't have much bad to say about him aside from his feud with Rudy. His feelings about Paul breaking up the party is that he blames himself for getting him with Zenith by teaching her to cook, so he doesn't even blame him for that.
Ghislaine may understand that Paul is a womanizing scumbag conceptually, but from what I see with Linia and Pursena, his actions and morals may be more forgivable in Doldia culture so she mostly ignores it. I don't think they were in touch after the party split, she just happened to be working for Philip when he called his cousin for a favor (side note: I think Paul cut ties with the Notos line completely, and got his house by begging the Sauros family for his spot, hence why he is just Paul Greyrat, not Paul Notos Greyrat). Ghislaine also didn't seem to have any bad opinions or direct animosity towards Paul, aside from him still claiming her as his woman while (somewhat) monogamously devoted to his wife.
Talhand probably thinks his womanizing behavior is pretty scummy and may resent him for breaking up the party, but that's probably it. He thinks of Paul as scum conceptually but doesn't have any ill will against him personally since he never slighted him (unless, like Elinalise, he's upset he got rejected /jk)
And you summed up Elinalise pretty well. She probably got rejected in a time of need and they got in a back & forth when the party split.
Or maybe the hate is justified and they've seen him do worse things than that night with young Lilia

I don't know if I am on the right track, but I wonder if Zenith does not get pregnant easily like Elinalise (there doesn't seem to be a time frame when Paul begs Phillip for a job, but I might be reaching here). It did take her five years to get pregnant with Norn. So, I am thinking Paul made promises to Zenith to get her to sleep with him and Paul being Paul (broken promises statement by Zenith when Rudeus blew a hole in their house) and maybe Zenith and him were having problems and he had sex with a random woman (I am thinking Ghislaine because she is not exactly friendly with him while she is very friendly with Zenith) when he gets drunk as he is wont to do. I feel that Elinalise respects Zenith so much that she would never sleep with Paul even if she was desperate. Gotta remember that Gisu might be an option if they were in the middle of a labyrinth. Of course, this might be one of the great mysteries of all time.

Personally, it always eked a bit of jealousy/hurt pride from Elinalise. That she put SO much emphasis on not wanting to be part of his family makes me think she was genuinely quite interested or invested in a relationship with Paul. We know that Elinalise does actually appreciate having a long-term partner, and that she had been in FotBW for an especially long period of time (when compared to the innumerable stories of fractured parties she left in her wake). Even if it was closer to an open relationship (given Paul's incident w/ Ghislaine & Elinalise's curse requirements), I can easily see that being quite a comfortable situation for the lot. Then after so long of the party being together and being so obviously close, Zenith comes in & develops feelings, makes a singular demand of Paul and that's it. Suddenly Elinalise (& Ghislaine?) are cut off cold turkey, and then Paul and Zenith up and leave them all behind to fend for themselves. It may well have felt like being tossed aside, or maybe just that a found family was suddenly ripped away. Either would be pretty damn heart breaking & could definitely lead toward the resentment and aversion to potentially rejoining his family in any sense.

Interesting love triangle theory where geese liked zenith, zenith liked Paul and paul liked any female in the party lol but perhaps since paul was human and understood elinalise would out live him, he only chose to fool around with her and never considered committing to her. At this point in the anime, not knowing the reason that Elinalise is a nympho makes the 1 vs 5 scene seem unnecessarily gratuitous. Hate watchers have a field day with it, but its actually important to defining the depth of her curse, and the extent/attitude with which she embraces it. Its a vital plot point to some later storylines. Nearly every scene in the anime is there because a story line can not afford to have it cut.
I have to add. For anyone reading this. In anime, risqué scenes are usually considered fan service, and a scene that requires zero brain matter. In Mushoku Tensei, if something risqué is happening, its likely not fan service, but dramatic storytelling. Don't turn your brain off, take note of who, what, and consider why/what are they thinking. Its unironically part of the plot and one storyline or another, or telling us something about the characters involved that won't be spelled out in another way.

Even knowing about the curse and knowing that scene was going to probably be in the episode, I feel like in both the LN and anime, if you don't yet know why Elinalise does stuff like that, it was played more for comedy (Roxy's reaction) than ecchi... But it's an adult show and so I don't see why anyone would be shocked by that scene anyway, even if it was played as ecchi - it'd be sillier to pretend nothing like that would ever happen in this kind of setting.

I don't think that seems as likely - from what we can tell Paul did do right by Zenith at first, up until she was pregnant with Norn. Also, if that was the case, I don't think Elinalise would have said she was in the wrong back then too, when they made up, if this was the situation, because she wouldn't have been.

My best thought at this moment is that this is directly from the writer and trying to showcaae how phycological impressions from early ages affect ppl in adulthood. In Re:Zero the gate that lets you use magic is described as an invisible organ, so I think basically everyone would have it, it just wouldn't do anything in a world where magic doesn't exist.

The teleportation incident wasn't randomly teleporting people. It used their mana to judge them, the greater their mana-pool the further the distance. This is why Zenith and Eris+Rudy were sent so far. And why the butler wasn't, nor was Paul and Norn.
Helps explain why everyone’s mana was so low after teleporting too, it didn’t judge them on their mana, it used most of it
Interesting theory but if that were the case this would imply that Zenith would have more mana than Sylphie as she was teleported further away. I really like the idea though!
@@LeeSunKyuu you might actually be right. Sylphy is indeed quite strong, but let's not forget that Zenith was a S rank Adventurer, it says quite a lot about her... It might also have something to do with Fate. In all the loops of Orsted she befriends Ariel... It's quite clear it has to be mana based as each of the teleportees were drained of mana.
We know for a fact that the incident sucked part of the victim's mana, but if the distance they were teleported was affected by that, then most people would've been teleported just a few meters or so, not entire continents like one of the kids that bullied Sylphy. As the incident was caused by the miko opening a time-space rift and by Rudeus unknowingly changing the fate of the world with his actions I like to think that the place each person got teleported was influenced by their fate
Maybe it's the hopeless romantic in me, but could it be that she might have fallen in love with him as well?? That she got rejected despite them both being very into sex? That for Paul, it was just sex, but for her, it was more. And when he didn't return her feelings and instead made off with Zenith, it broke her heart? Just a thought anyway...

Paul held out on cheating until he was tempted. It stands to reason that Elinalise was horny and he took the chance even though he was already with Zenith. This might have been one of the contributing factors to the fracture of the party. Ergo, Elinalise was angry at Paul for being tempted and Elinalise also feels some responsibility over her curse.

There's one thing that was completely amiss, and would explain perfectly why she, specifically, hates Paul. She has children, most, full grown adults, and her children are, without a doubt, good looking.

Nah it's in the main story who it is, yeah, it's fairly late on but it's not in the final arc or anything. If you want to know I'll put it below:
It's Rudy's second daughter Lara (Roxy is her mother). Rudey is given a scroll to summon a guardian animal to protect his family, and when he uses it, the sacred beast comes through. At this point Roxy is still pregnant with Lara. The beast protects all of the family, but stays close to pregnant Roxy then Lara when she's born. After a while, Rudeus returns to the great forest to explain to the beastmen he met in the last couple of episodes what happened to their sacred beast, and they tell him Lara is the hero.
ETA I had to edit this because I wrote Paul instead of Rudeus - I just woke up lol!

First, we know that Zenith basically got pregnant on like their first time together. So there wasn't going to be a lot of adventuring after that, so the discussed scenario of Elinalise getting caught without a man is unlikely. I think the more likely scenario is that Elinalise and Paul were super close, like partners in crime. Paul was probably the closest thing Elinalise thought she'd ever come to having a "husband," at least in the sense that he would always be in her life, but in a very open way for both of them, so she thought they were well suited to each other, and they probably had a fairly formal understanding along the those lines.
Zenith's condition for bedding Paul, was that he had to swear off all other women, which would be a betrayal of his existing relationship with Elinalise, but he went ahead and did this in order to be with Zenith.
It's for this reason Elinalise didn't want to bed Rudeus, and become Paul's daughter, as she had previously seen Paul as "hers" and thus to be in that child position, with the child of both Paul's and Zenith's (the woman Paul betrayed her for) none the less, just wasn't something she could stomach. This would also explain why later Elinalise made sure to point out to Paul that he and Zenith were like her kids, since Rudeus was now her grandchild. Knowing this would rub him the wrong way, just like the idea of bring his daughter rubbed her the wrong way, so it was an uno-reverse moment.

That’s an interesting idea for keeping women in succubi infested area. It could have been something that was left off since it’s been quietly resolved. It’s a good thing that it’s being adapted properly since there are many points that could be not included that would cause issues later down the line and especially if it was rushed. I could see elinalise was really in need of someone because of her curse. Also not explaining the curse and the complexity would cause lots of issues for those watching some of her scenes despite the fact it shouldn’t be a big deal if she was having sex whenever and with whoever
The curse isn't explained in that scene in the novel either, so it's reasonable that it wasn't in the anime there either. People will just have to deal with it! I think it makes it better that at first you think she's just having fun, and also maybe think she's not taking their quest as seriously as Roxy if she is doing that instead of looking for information the normal way, but when you get to know her better and find out the details of the curse it changes how you see her actions.

No, there is no flight magic. Teleportation magic exists but it's illegal and kept secret by the few people who use it. Basically, people have to travel the long way and it can take months or even years to complete journeys between continents.

could be a deep messy one which I don't believe is impossible, where she got pregnant with his baby but he didn't care and they kept adventuring just to lose it in the process with her caring so much about family and her children making her devastated. To then find out that zenith is pregnant, then Paul wanting out. So she loses a kid due to Paul not caring just for zenith to get pregnant and Paul cares all of a sudden. Would start a huge argument that wouldn't ever be shared because she doesn't want to ruin zeniths and Paul's relationship. Would explain not wanting to see him but also not telling anyone of what happened. The other option is simply feeling betrayed where she was invited to the party by Paul and also uses others (I feel like she is a person who wouldn't hold grudges with being used but holds grudge's with people hurting or taking advantage of others she cares about) just for him to say to her he will do better just for him to get zenith pregnant and leave making her feel like he never actually got better.

I think Paul probably could have cured her of it by giving her a child cause she was in love with him at one point. Could have been with her for a little while so her affection grew and wanted a "normal life" with him but he just dipped off with Zenith when she was pregnant. Basically, he could possibly cured her but he dipped out on her when she was in love with him and got another woman pregnant (Zenith). Her curse is "Lust" and a very strong bond of singular love could have cured it potentially if a child is produced from that. The child wouldn't have much of the curse as it would be dulled down or diminish completely. Paul was the answer to it but he just left her behind for some other woman, a woman she was extremely close to. That'd cause problems for sure as she has no way to cure it herself
Having a child doesn't cure the curse (she has had many children), and Paul wasn't really someone who did research and stuff like Cliff, so I don't think he could or would have cured it.

Yes, but that doesn't have anything to do with Elinalise - she had separated from Paul's group at the time so wouldn't even know about this. Lilia seduced Paul the time he got her pregnant but they actually knew each other before he married Zenith, and he'd basically forced himself on her back then.

Turns out, she was found in a coma like state literally crystallized inside a labyrinth. When this happens you often develop these conditions which are considered a type of gift or curse. She has no memories of her past. After she was found, adventurers escorted her to the elf village presumably where she was from. People recognized her in the elf village and she even found her supposed husband. Due to her curse from the labrynth, she is forced to have a insane amount of sex or else her life force slowly depletes until she dies. She fucked all the dudes in the village and her husband left her. The other wives of the village kicked her out and banned her from ever returning. Shortly after she becomes an adventurer and joins Paul’s team. Paul being the play boy that he is, fcked the sht outta her all the time. It became a regular thing on trips and she began to feel like she finally found someone who understood her and didn’t care about her curse. That was until Paul met Rudy’s mom and he quit the team to get married and have children. The poor elf girl felt betrayed because she developed feelings for Paul but they were never returned. End of story 👏🏼 this was definitely something they explored in the light novel but idk how far the manga gets or about the web novel…
Yeah. That's my understanding as well. I know she was kicked out of the elf village but I don't remember her husband leaving her. I thought she had sex to gain crystals for her husband that made him rich but he eventually died. Elinalise was madly in love with Paul. She loves sex but doesn't prefer randoms. She thought she had found a soulmate in Paul who could match her libido and didn't view her as a pariah. The fact was all the female adventurers in Black Fang as well as probably Talhand were probably in love with Paul. Scum or not, Paul was very charismatic. There was hint of rivalry between Ghyslaine and Elinalise when they reminisced at the inn near the end of the story but Ghyslaine as a beast person couldn't have sex unless she was in heat so that probably ruled her out. Elinalise was more outspoken and was incredibly hurt when Paul chose to live a conventional life with Zenith. She felt Paul rejected her because of her promiscuity, which may have been the case. That is why she is so devoted to Cliff. She wanted to be accepted and assumed no one would marry her given her curse. She wants a family like everyone else. That is the point the author is trying to make because "purity" is an obsession with Japanese men.
Another clue is in Elinalise's relationship with Roxy. She is not against polygamy as she told her even when you would expect her to be in that particular instance because of (massive spoiler). That tells me she would have been fine with a polygamous relationship with Paul as well but that Paul took Zenith's side and followed the Millis belief on monogamy. She felt betrayed and I imagine the sex had been really hot and heavy between the two for some time. She can't become Paul's daughter-in-law because Rudy reminds her of Paul and her lost love. Later, it would betray the person who she thought would be the only person willing to marry her.
