Tae is blind in one eye and IU is deaf but through the lents of the camera they are able not only to see but to really feel like nothing wrong ever happened in the world, that everything is right and they are able to just be together and happy, even "forgetting" that they are supost to run, so they decide to just fell their love, until realty comes.

IU wow her voice is so delicate so pristine, I know she would really sound together with any of the vocal line..but I’m not gonna lie, I would like her to sing with Jin. And Taehyung omg his acting and that gorgeous face..so freaking charming . No words could be enought to describe everything about this MV , and the song like wow.
If you pay attention, you'll see pieces of clothing all over the place, even on the forest / garden they were coming from 😢 I just think the pile were the cubes getting at people in the welcome hall of the big hotel. About acting, it always amazes me when people acts with the whole body, and the scene were we mostly see just their hands is just heartbreaking
Thanks for this reaction! I’ve included the key points that IU’s agency released this morning from their official MV interpretation guide at the end of my comment for those who want to know the ‘official’ intended meaning of MV. So they can skip the next bit of my comment.
Everyone pls bare in mind this next portion is my reaction before reading the interpretation guide and my initial reactions:
Personally when I first watched it… the MV moved me to tears. The song was intricately and exquisitely beautiful… IU’s Vocals gave me goosebumps. There is a reason she is referred to as a Queen. She is most defo the best female vocalist in South Korea. The subtlety in the acting was perfection by both and the visuals by both… just wow. Tae in all his sweetness, softness and gentleness was the honestly the definition of prettiness. There was something so beautifully vulnerable and delicate about him, that touched my soul.
In terms of the meaning… In the Korean press releases of this song used in all the articles yesterday… IU said that: ‘I want to respect and support everyone who loves and lives in various ways with love rather than hate’ this and the statement before when the song was called Love Wins was released which talked about people who face prejudices and obstacles in love… Personally make me think that it’s showing that many people in love face stigma’s and obstacles for whatever reason in life for things that they are born with and have no control over. Personally I think when they look through the camera they see the perfect world in which everyone can live without the lense of hate where people don’t see you or judge you for your stigma’s or labels but they see the whole you. Another thing that I find beautiful with the sign language involved is that both IU and Tae have a history of sign language. IU with her ear condition and Tae has communicated in official sign language many times (his birthday is even celebrated by some of deaf community in S.K). When it comes to the box I see it as society trying to put us in a box… I also feel the box was representing the hate that tears people down and strips them of their humanity out of predjiduce. Personally I feel there was a wider message in this MV and feel that Tae very specifically chose to appear in this MV because of the message. I’ve lost count of times over the years where he has said he would like to side with the marginalised or the minority in life. From the creation of his drawn characters in numerous content, to his BT21 character, to his fairytale character he chose in the 7th Army Zip content that was tragically killed for being different. I feel like this MV very much fits with that. Also I think the message that love allows us to see the world with a healing and whole lense too.
This MV for me was very much Art. And the song was beautiful. Fantastic job IU and Tae. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Actually food stylist is an essential part of the team when you film movie, TV show or music video where food involved in any form. They make sure that food will look good on screen, that it's edible and if they try to mimic and make edible something that actor will not eat in real life - they in charge of it too. Like, if you watched Game of Thrones, in the first season Dany eats raw and bloody horse heart - it was made from jelly and food stylist was in charge of it.
I am a huge fan of Hannibal TV Show and food has the main focus in it. And because Hannibal loves cook fancy food with extravagant decorations and also he is, well, a cannibal, food stylist of the show (Janice Poon) had a lot of work to do. And she is as famous and appreciated in Hannibal fandom (Fannibals) as actors who played main and secondary roles.
So this is a very important job.😅

Did someone already tell you what IU's company put out about this? So fire! The cube represents our judgmental society which basically goes after anything it perceives as flawed or imperfect. But the video shows how there is basically no one left because we are all flawed. Someone in a post I read somewhere else, also pointed out that there is so much destruction all around but the mannequin was left perfectly in tact. Just more food for thought.

Here IU is deaf and Taehyung is blind and they love each other, but the society won’t let them be happy by discriminating against them.Perhaps the message behind this video is the discrimination people feel and experience. It was so beautiful that they stayed together and comforted each other till the very end. IU was tapping in sign language "I love you" to Tae (on his shoulder) and hiding his good eye so he doesn't have to be face to face with it 🥺

I loved this MV, it's perfect! An IU's voice is incredible! I'm not too fond of girls' groups because their voices are generally too acute, and this hurts my ears, but hers is so smooth, even at high tones.
Imho, this MV shows that impaired people (or with any "flaw") is rejected and exterminated from society. That camera was special and showed them how life could be as "perfect" and happy people... but the reality came to destroy them.

Iu and V love each other even though the world looks down on them and their love (like them happy at the wedding even though the crowd is pointing at and throwing things at them) but they dont care. Even if the world is cruel towards certain people and their end seems doomed, their love still exists no matter who tries to oppose it. And so, love always wins.
Imo the pile of clothes represents the morbid reality that these stories are very common, and millions of beautiful love stories have been ruined thanks to hatred.
