Thankyou so much for the tutorial. I use ARB blanks, I am afraid of vinyl bunching up if the t-shirt shrinks. Can anyone please give me the feedback about arb blanks. If they have done applique with vinyl. I have read in the comments that you buy from embroidery boutique. ..and you trust the quality..but I am looking forward for a feedback from someone who did vinyl on Arb.
So just to confirm, you do a single line stitch first, to get the vinyl on & then go over it again with a thicker, sort of puff pattern? Want to try this out as a christmas present & want to make sure I get it right lol
Great video Kelly. Would you please tell me what temperature to wash a t shirt with embroidery vinyl on it? I test washed a sample, and some of the glitter came off. This was at the usual 40 degree wash. I can't offer this to my friends little girl, if the glitter comes off. Can you please advise? Thank you. Regards, Ann.
Hi, I have a question I hope you can help me, with this embroidery vinyl can you use tender touch because I read that this material can not be iron, but usually when we finish the T-shirt we put tender touch on the back of the T-shirt and we have to iron the tender touch. Thanks.
Here I was using my babylock 6 needle - I now have added a Ricoma and would recommend you looking into these as they are direct from the manufacturer- low reasonable monthly payment! You can check out there machines using this link ricoma.com/US/referral/kelly-payne
Just placed my first vinyl order. Mentioned your name in the order Thanks for the tips and video. Cannot wait to receive the vinyl and stitch out my designs.
Looking to troubleshoot.. after I finish my embroidery I noticed gaps on the satin stitch not sure how to fix. My machine is a brother pe900 , tshirt , floated , 2 cutaway stabilizer and used glitter htv.
I am really enjoying watching your videos! I am at the very beginning of my embroidery journey and I am so excited but also a bit overwhelmed, SO SO much to learn. 😂 Your videos are very helpful and informative, Thank you for all of your wonderful, helpful content!
This is a table I bought at Bed Bath and Beyond but can also be found on Amazon. www.amazon.com/Origami-Foldable-Kitchen-Island-White/dp/B00GRUFIYU/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=origami+table&qid=1633478276&sr=8-4 It is called an Oragami Folding Kitchen Table
Looks really nice. Did you do the "A" in 2 steps: First attaching the letter (and cutting away excess glitter fabric) and then stitching around the letter "A"? Not clear on how the letter "A" was finished. Than ks.
Sharon the A is part of the appliqué - appliqués have 3 steps - 1. Placement stitch showing where to put fabric/vinyl 2. Tack down stitch which adheres the fabric/vinyl to the shirt (now you cut close to the single stitch) 3. Finishing stitch - completes the appliqué with a larger stitch that covers tack down and cut fabric/vinyl
Yes of course! It is an Ikea hack table made with a bookcase/table top and 2 adjustable legs - I shared the details in a video I have about my IKEA craft room.
I have that design and wondering if the vinyl would work on a bath hand towel. I just started watching your videos and so thankful I found you. I love how you present everything. Thank you so much. Happy New Year. 12/30/20.
Was wondering if I need to adjust any settings to sew the satin stitch on the vinyl border. My glitter vinyl is pulling away from the satin stitch when it bends
Thanks! I do not prewash - but I do buy quality blanks that I have complete confidence in! I tested different blanks including how they looked after washing so I know they hold up very well!
No it is not metallic but it does look like it when it is stitched. This color is actually called light grey - Floriani thread just has a nice sheen to it so it always looks so great!!
Thanks Ramona! No I do not have a heat press - I’ve had one in my amazon cart for a while now but have not purchased it yet - I’m not sure how often I would use it - do you use one with your business?!
@@EmbroideryNurse I'm just getting started with embroidering. I recently purchased a Brother PE800, but I have been working with the Cricket Maker and the Easy Press 2 along with the infusible inks. I don't have a business yet, but I am really considering it.
Mikiri world has closed down. Where do we find this glitter canvas now? I bought some from amazon but i can feel the glitters, so not sure if this will hold up to washing. Your's looks like there is a thick plastic film over top.
May i know during doing the Appliqué, for vinyl, the bobbin used can be the same thread (embroidery) which is the upper thread or must use bobbin thread?
Hey Kimberly! I do have a video about my 3 favorite blanks companies if you want to see other things I recommend! My ruffle shirts come from Blanks Boutique which I highly recommend!
was just wondering what softwear you are using I have Wilco and can't install a full letter set in different sizes it uses emc format I think I can download dst files for a design but not a complete set of letters thanks in advance..
Wow there is so much to learn I have been watch you wow so much I do have Embrilliance and hard to learn I want to make my own files wow my heard hurts lol
I know this has been up for awhile and I watch it frequently. Did you use a different size/type of needle to stitch the vinyl other than the regular embroidery needle you use?
Carina Bam hey! I wash mine inside out and hang to dry - but here are the “official” instructions from MikriWorldLLC :::::::::::::::::: It is anti-mildew and abrasion-resistant. It can be washed in cold water on gentle or hand washed and dried via air dry, cool dry or hang to dry. Our recommendation is to HAND WASH. This is a vinyl product and heat settings are NOT recommended. DO NOT use chemicals such as Oxy Clean, Shout etc. with this vinyl as they can cause a breakdown of the vinyl. Many of our customers have washed and drier using the "regular" settings on their washer and dryer and have not had a single issue in doing so, but this is not our recommendation. If using this vinyl on items that are not preshrunk, please note that the vinyl will not shrink with the material. This can cause the vinyl to bunch up and even pull away.
Ilove your videos. They are so helpful. You mentioned that you do the Snowflake letters and numbers. I found the snowflake letter, b

So just to confirm, you do a single line stitch first, to get the vinyl on & then go over it again with a thicker, sort of puff pattern? Want to try this out as a christmas present & want to make sure I get it right lol
It is just the 3 steps for any appliqué design - 1 placement 2 tackdown 3 finishing
Just what I needed to see. Going to place my order for vinyl shortly. Thank you!!!
Glad I could help!
I love the design :) can you please tell me what brand and number is the silver color? Thank you
I have never embroidered vinyl but I just might give it a try. It looks pretty simple, I thought it would be harder to use. Thanks for the video.
You can do it!
Thank you for this video!! I have been wondering about glitter vinyl appropriate for sewing
It is so fun to add!

The vinyl I purchase Mikri World does not require any special temperature!
Kelly, how do you wash and dry the shirt with the glitter vinyl applique. What a cute idea for little ones!
Inside out on cold - I don’t dry - air dry and then iron on backside

Hi did you take the plastic off of the glitter vinyl?
Embroidery vinyl should not have plastic
