A remix of "The Fire Is Gone, and I Remember it Best".
Originally i was going to just make a "The Fire is Gone" remix, but as i was making the song, i realized that it sounded too much like an intro to a Prime soul bossfight to not make it into one, with the idea for P-S forming during the making of the song, officially turning what was going to be just a remix into a fully fleged Prime Soul theme.
I still wanted to make the remix of the menu theme, as an idea for what could be the ending theme of Ultrakill, which is the idea behind this song.
As i see it, there is a pretty big chance that Hakita is going to reuse this old song of his as the credits theme of the game, both because reusing songs is something he already does quite often and because i think it would work thematically in the context of a part of the original piece being used as the main menu theme.

this is absolutely haunting. strangely enough i think the best place for this to play would be the enemy gauntlet before the prime soul, you were expecting a high energy, catchy theme, but instead you're fighting enemies as usual, but this scares you. it feels like the game itself has changed, the once peaceful song has been warped, demented and sinister. every checkpoint you clear, you dread to see what's on the other side of that door

personally I've always thought the third prime soul would be Prometheus, and this fits PERFECTLY with what i had in mind
prometheus gave mankind fire, the will to create, and now, in the world of ultrakill,

prometheus is actually the best p-3 proposition i've heard so far, and this solidified it
The only reason Prometheus wouldn't make sense here was because he was one of the VERY FEW titans who were NOT cast into the underworld, and was stuck on Earth for all eternity. Even though he does fit betrayal since he betrayed the Olympian pantheon twice, it doesn't make sense for Hakita to put him into hell.

@@Aavanitro If we bother him enough probably. But he's got good musical taste, and I think this could work great with his more serious segments.

Yeah but max0r makes incredibly fast paced videos, this is not fast paced
A lot of his videos are mostly fast paced, but he has enough gaps at times where the tone, at least, is more sedated. He is creative, I think if he has a track he likes, he can find a way to use it well.

This sounds like something out of Little Nightmares and it somehow fits well into ultrakill too
I like this a bunch, especially since the music box struck a nerve with the part of me that played Spiral Knights. Harry Mack made a lot of nostalgic-sounding tunes for that old, dying hidden gem (minus the grinding). It sounds like a sequel to the game, almost.
I'd like to see Prometheus on P-3.

you finally beat gabriel for the 3rd and final time.. he is dead.. for good.. there is no hellevator to end the level, instead there's just a terminal... a weird looking one that plays this song as you upload your final bit of footage to it, credits rolling, the terminal goes black and then.. "would you like to upload into V1.5 model?" your finger goes towards the yes option, and right as you click it, the screen goes black, then the ULTRAKILL text appears with that musical bit from 0-1 and text that fades in under "will be back in ULTRAKILL 2: Heavenly Ends"
