- How to change the input on Samsung Smart TVs, including without the remote. UDH 4K LED LCD AU8000 used but also works on any modern Samsung Smart TV. This is how to switch to Nintendo / Xbox / PS5, to cable TV, to streaming boxes, etc.
Unfortunately the menu is much worse and everything farther away on newer models like the QN90b. The "home" covers the entire screen, you have to walk even further to get to "connected devices", and video games are in the "games" tab, separate from the "video apps" and computer that are in the "media" tab. It takes a lot of work to change, it's one of the worst menus I've seen in my life and deleting an "input/source" button is one of the biggest stupidities on a TV, they're exaggerating in minimalism.
Couldn't agree more. So annoyed to have a worse experience on a more expensive tv, especially when this same company has already solved these problems on previous models! How often are people using picture in picture compared to changing source????
Worth noting: although it's kinda laggy, using the voice assistant to change sources is probably still easier/faster than navigating all the menus.
It's a horrible interface I wish we had option on Android TV which is much more functional.
Yes, worst design. I have qn90b I always search lot of time to switch to hdmi. I even called customer support once.
So there is no way to change source without pulling up the entire screen?
If you hold the settings 123 button it brings up the source menu
A. My Remote doesn't look anything like that. No colored dots button on it. (Or more appropriately, the colored dots were combined with the 123/Settings button.)
B. Pressing Home brings you to a Smart Hub Home Screen now instead of bringing you the great bar that used to give you quick access to everything.
My questions, therefore, are how do you get the old SmartHub bar or is it gone forever? If it's gone forever, is there another quick way to get to Sources without going to the HomeScreen, then Connected Devices, then along the Sources bar? This was a horrible design change by Samsung. It was efficient before. Now what should be the simplest task on a TV is tedious and convoluted.
Worst feature: no easy way to switch input modes. Remote sucks.
Having to press a button 20 times just to change input source. Then it takes additional 6 seconds before the TV starts showing the video. Samsung genius. My 15 years old Sony Bravia can do it all in 1 second.
The home button on my remote just opens the (plague that is the) smart hub. How do you get it to open the bottom banner?

Dont get me wrong i really love the minimalist remote, but for the love of everything holy couldnt one of the 12 buttons be used to switch sources ?? it's litteraly one if not THE most used function. Now you have to go through like 5 steps to do so, I refuse to believe that not a single intelligent engineer at Samsung tought of that...

+1,000. The Remote is absolutely horrid with the omission of a Source button. For this reason alone, I'm considering replacing the TV. That and the confusing Steps needed to even find Source in the software. BTW, I have the Q90B so my software doesn't look like that in the video.

Samsung, how the f* do I change the source with one click on the remote? Geezus christ, and sometimes (QN90B) the tv doesn't recognize the xbox was turned on, and I have to go through the menus. My god.

holy fuck this is a masterclass on how to not fucking design your shit to be nonintuitive to use such that even tech savvy people can't figure it out even with googling. Tried going to settings, going to that menu but it just doesn't seem to appear on my tv..
I would like to know how to keep it on that source. Eg screen mirroring. It keeps switching back to hdmi and I have to change it back to sm after a few minutes

Why does it take 6-7 button presses to change inputs? Worst design ever. At least I figured out how to stop it from making me manually select the input every time I turned the stupid TV on by hiding the Home interface on startup.

I use a firestick and a bt youview box and dont use any of the smart options on my qled samsung 50 inch tv. After i set it up, i foolishly moved my firestick to a different hdmi port closer to my plug socket. Now if i press alexa for youtube or disney, it brings me to my bt youview channel. So annoying

This is such a bad way to handle this. It’s insane how I have to go to through multiple menu’s to change inputs.
Especially when it only takes one accidental click on the remote to go to Netflix

The Samsung TU7000 and TU7050 (both 50") that I own have two HDMI inputs. Switching from one HDMI source (PS5) to the next (Switch) takes an unacceptable amount of time as the TIZEN OS chokes on its tongue trying to find it. What a POS. But that's MY fault. I bought Samsung appliances and they are/were junk. Why I thought the TVs would be any different is beyond me.
