    For decades, Polk has been churning out affordable speakers that hit the sweet spot when it comes to balancing performance, style, and value. And while the company has gone through many iterations before being purchased by parent company DEI Holdings (which also recently snatched up both Denon and Marantz), the brand has proven over the last few years it still holds tight to its roots. In our Polk Signature Series speaker review, we take Polk’s latest and greatest surround sound system for a spin, discovering some impressive sound at a price that just about any home theater budget can shoulder.
    In this hands on review, we've tested out the S60 towers, the S35 center channel, and the S25 bookshelves, to see if the Polk Signature Series is right for you.

    I read and was amused at the "Know it All" comments from people calling these speakers bad. I'm sure they have spent real time with these speakers, like I have. If they did they would stop showing their ignorance and get with the program. If you're considering these Polk's, after owning them for over half a year, I would buy them again. I'm not going to leave a review because I hate casting pearls before swine--they're down below--but these are worth every dollar I paid.

    I’ve had the S35 for a month and I only have praise for this thing! I picked it up for just $189 shipped which was a steal for this quality. I needed a slim center that wouldn’t block my LG C8 so any center with 5.25 or larger midrange drivers. So that pretty much eliminates 80-90% of speakers right off the bat.
    It has excellent clarity and produces a full sound in my room. I liked it so much that I just ordered a pair of S15s for just $159 to pair with it. Another great price. At these discounted prices this Polk signature series definitely punches above its weight. If I didn’t live in an apartment I would’ve ordered a pair of the signature towers (S55 or S60). If the S35 is good the 55 and 60 have to be awesome.

    I have the Denon AVR X8500 ($4,000 flagship model) running a 7.2 setup with all front and rear S60’s, mid S20’s, and the S35 center and every time I turn it on I get shivers up my spine because the quality of the signature series is insanely good with the right receiver. Would spend the about $8,000 again if I had too.

    I own two sets of Signature Series 15. One set for front Mains and the other set for surrounds and the s30 Center Channel. I must say I'm very impressed, paired with a subwoofer they sound incredible.

      I have the S35 center which rocks (really good looking as well with grille on and off) and I have a pair of S15s on the way for front mains. I’m going to leave a pair of T15s as surrounds for now.
      To be honest the T15s already sound good enough but I love the clarity of the S35 and really wanted a better pair of speakers for music. The surrounds aren’t as important but I’ll upgrade them eventually.
      I have an old Yamaha sub that does a good job but I’ll probably end up buying the signature Sub on sale later on. Polk is already great at regular prices but on sale they’re pretty much unbeatable.

    I have the whole signature series for a 7.2.4 setup. Have not installed them yet but....... when listening to different speakers in the shop I went with polk over klipsch. The reason being is that the klipsch are ear piercing because of how crisp they are and actually hurt my ears. Each person has different hearing and the only thing I would say is to listen to different setups before buying. I personally think polk is great

    I encourage anyone who is interested in getting a good set of 5.2 setup to start with the S15. Mind you, my theater room uses a PSA MT210 LCR and Rythmik SUBs and I bought S15 pair for my Patio. It’s around $150 on Amazon I believe. Surprisingly they are very very good! They sound way better than those Elac Andrew Jones Crap, has a better 3d stereo image, runs much more efficiently and has punchier low end even though it cuts off a bit earlier than elac b6s. Just get a decent AVR like Denon/Marantz/Pioneer Elite/Yamaha Avantage/Onkyo RZ series and a set of these and start this wonderful journey. Yes they are not the best speakers in the world, frankly nothing is! But at just $150 they sound as good or better than most speakers under $400 per pair!

    • @lecorsaire2283
      @lecorsaire2283 5 лет назад

      asiboy29 I get by with a pair of T15s. You don’t need anything expensive back there and I find that they match the S15s and S35s perfectly since they have the same Polk sound signature.
      If you really want to spend more or want better looking speakers you could maybe look at the S10s.
      But I highly recommend the S15s in the front. I’ve had them for almost a month now and they’re truly fantastic. They’re just what I needed.
      For Atmos speaker it depends if you’re installing in the ceiling or just want those angled speakers. Maybe something from Klipsch? Just make sure the size is right for your space. Some of them are pretty big.

    • @iamsabit1337
      @iamsabit1337 5 лет назад

      asiboy29 Atmos is great if you can do 4 ceiling speakers for height channels. If that’s not possible then just stick with 3.1 or 5.1. Front soundstage and a good subwoofer that produces clean deep bass makes the biggest difference in Homs theater.
      Surround channels sound best if the sound is diffused which means you need bipole/dipole design. Look at the polk fxi a4/a6 or the def tech sr9 series surrounds or fluance xlbp if you want a low cost option.

    They are a descent speaker for the average person. Now that DEI holdings inc. Owns the brand, I have to say that these are not the quality that Polk audio used to be. I have the rt1000i's. They are now vintage. I also have the lsim703's and 707's and I'm afraid that now that Matthew Polk is out of the game, the Polk brands is compromised. They went from low, mid and high end options to basically average. That's just my opinion. It's a shame really.
