Great video. Very informative. Do you know if anyone makes a flat shank 140/22 needle that has a triangular point or other cutting point. The round needles will just not penetrate the leather well. I modify industrial needles but would rather buy already made up needles. Thanks.
Very informative, thanks. I am thinking of getting one of these machines. I want to use it as a cheap "sew off the arm" solution, mainly for light fabrics. Would it be suitable for this purpose?
I would get an electric modern sewing machine for that. These work better for finicky heavier materials where you can stitch by stitch. Good luck with that venture though!
Hello, thank you for the awesome tutorials on these machines. Do you know if there is a way to use the wax thread for hand sewing in these machines? I really like the finished look and feel of the waxed sinue type thread.
Thanks for the comment! The only way would be to try it... These machines are extremely simple, so don't have the complex electronic feeds etc that modern machines do, and might make it easier.
@@FlexitoolGuides Ya that's true, I did try it but only once, I think I may try doing the heavy thread in the bobbin and the thinner on top. Thank you!
Sorry for late reply... been off the channel quite a long time. If I remember you might be able to get a 160 to work but they are not in commercial production any where in the world, as far as I know.
I bought some Schmetz needles in size 20, but they don't have a "flat" size. Therefore, they are set to one side of the needle hole and impact the arm when running down inside the arm hole - cutting off the thread. Have you found this in your experience with aftermarket needles?
Hi Graham got my machine last week it came with a cone of black thred as its in chiness would you know what grade of thred they send out with machines .TIA
it's very embarassing that the bobbin is too small. If i use thick thread in bobbin, it goes only 1 meters i guess..? Is there any solution to get this?
Unfortunately not... the small bobbin can definitely be an issue with very thick thread, I have a bunch of bobbins set up so that I don't have to wind all the time. Regards!
Sorry its hard for you to hear. I made these when I was just starting to produce youtube content. Unfortunately there is no way to just replace audio without deleting the video and re-uploading a completely new video with all that loss of history.

Your videos are a ton of help. I’m currently using 138 thread and size 20 needles but I’m having issues with the thread snapping almost immediately.
Thanks! Check tensions but also material can cause it (rough edges).

Great videos! do you know if its common or know where I can get a needle size larger than 140? and will it fit in these Chinese machines?
Sorry for late reply... been off the channel quite a long time. If I remember you might be able to get a 160 to work but they are not in commercial production any where in the world, as far as I know.
thank you this was perfect.
You're so welcome!
Do the needles shown here have a flat side? All the stores I've been only carry round shank and I think my cobbler has a flat side on the needle

Sounds like you bought the wrong type of needle. These machines only use flat shank needles. Regards!
Thank you for the advices! Are those nylon threads you are presenting?
Hi - no they are, polyester.
Can I ask you for the link to buy these machines
Look on one of the big web sellers, tons of individual sellers there. Regards!
