OMG you have no idea how fustrating it was with all these freelancing videos saying you can make money teaching video games or drawing furries as if that's easier than becoming a twitch streamer or other jobs that are too good to not have competition. But to actually see the numbers this is the best thing I've seen in a freelance vid thank's so much :D
I think freelancing is great but so hard to get into depending on the field. But once you get your foot in the door it's pretty much smooth sailing until you have to discuss price with some clients
At least in Tech, once you've built a solid network of contacts, discussing price becomes very easy: They will trust you. They will want you to work for them. They will be fine with paying you market prices - or even a little more. They won't want to risk losing you over a few dollars per hour.
I worked 4 years in 2 large companies before going freelance. I hated having others decide whether I could spend new year or Christmas with my family. I hated dealing with admin people who cannot even understand my knowledge based technical job impose protocols that made no sense to make themselves look useful. I went free lance trading stability for potentially higher pay and complete control over my life. The pay could in theory swing wildly month to month. Thanks to Jesus . The work just streamed in. My overheads are minimal: gas money and insurance. I earned 120 k to 130 k for 20 /year for the past 20 years averaging 25 hours a week. Minimal stress as I can just say NO to companies who are shitty after one job. Plenty of time for exercise and hobbies.
I worked for DoorDash right when I turned 18 during senior year of high school. The colder months (which is when I started) are better. From january - march, I made on average 30/hr after deducting gas. I worked 8-10 hours a week.
@@eggbertjohnson2591 The colder the area you live, the more you'll make. November - March is the best, friday 5-9pm, saturday 4-11pm, sunday 12-7. You have to learn your area's stores. I learned quickly which stores I will always decline. Also, you want to be delivering to houses that aren't too far from restaurants. I accepted anything 1.5$/mile but nothing lower. My acceptance rate is like 15%
I've been looking into freelancing and passive income opportunities for a while and always get overwhelmed by the options. Thank you for breaking the main ones down with data to back them up. It's very much appreciated and helpful!
There seems to be a cross-over between ease and passive. I would say ease = barriers to entry, not how easy something is. Barriers to entry prevent - most - people from just going out buying another house but setting up a small business usually just takes a bit of time and marketing etc. although, renting out property is more passive while running a small business is time intensive.
I have been on the internet for a long time building websites and what I find is that it gets harder and harder to compete. When I started I could easily make money via clicks on Google Adsense Ads with page one ranking web pages. Now there is immense competition for the passive income. Getting clients to pay you a monthly fee for maintenance of a website is a good one (even when there is no actual maintenance required).
Hi Shane, thank you for another great video. I have a video request. Can you make a video where you explain different programs available for people who already have a bachelors degree in biology? For example PA, nursing, etc. I currently have a bachelors degree in biology and am unsure which path to take moving forward. The plan was to apply to medical school but after becoming a mom during the pandemic, I am looking for a shorter program that can get me into a career faster. Thank you 🙏🏻
Great video. Especially the pros and cons without all the 'guru change your life over night BS'. As a consultant myself I think that the hardest by far is the pitching part. Yes you can get a couple of k a day but the more specialized you get the fewer clients there are and the more goes into networking. Now I wonder how can you bring something very specialized into a course that is valuable while has enough market 🤔
Hi shane, quick question. I want to be a financial analyst for Samsung. They REQUIRE a bachelors degree in a business related field, but they PREFER a masters degree in a business related field. Would it be smarter to go farther into debt and get a masters degree, or just get a bachelors degree? Also here’s a video idea: Best companies to work at for new grads. You could put these companies in different categories, for instance “Best tech companies to work at for new grads.”
Heres my opinion in case he doesnt answer. I would say if you k or you'll work there for life, get the master's . Otherwise get the bachelor's and learn from experience everything they teach in the master's. That way less debt and you get job experience before/during the desired job
Apparently, the masters of finance is really in demand right now, I had an opportunity to go do it but I chose not too because I was skeptical about the degree at first and nobody could give me a straight answer maybe nobody wanted to give up the secret that its actually a good degree. NOTE: My college required that you had 2 years experience in Finance as of 2022, maybe its just smarter to get a banking job for 2 years then go be an analyst as a "promotion" TL;DR don't do degree until get 2 years experience and get work reference but degree good
There are companies that will take you on at your bachelor's and pay for your continued education (master's degree). Maybe you could look into those opportunities if you want. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
Great video! It's interesting to see someone rate these, considering I've gone through a few of these. What I'm still doing is just in s tier so that's good
Those are all service based businesses. There are also some websites/apps that allow you to sell your services, so if you go that route it would fall under the side hustle app/website category as well.
Really enjoyed the video! Thank you Shane! I was wondering what your option on more creative freelancing jobs is? Graphic design, video editing etc.. ✨
thanks for this video! some great ideas. although I think you and I have different definitions of passive. most of these are side hustles for most people who attempt them ie basically second jobs. giving physical labor 5/10 passive is wild 😂
SaaS is definitely not passive, even after you've built a successful product. If you're making big money, either your whole life is consumed by the project or you have a whole team maintaining it. At the VERY least, you need to be on your toes about security updates. More than likely, to be profitable long-term, you're also gonna need to be delivering feature updates. Then you'll need marketing and sales. Also, anyone getting into software in 2023 just be aware that the market has changed. You're not gonna make big money on nifty ideas anymore. Investors aren't buying into "software for the sake of software" anymore. You need a product that delivers concrete value to an audience that has a legitimate need.
I disagree with you on delivery apps. I've done a little myself and I know others who have also. You can definitely make more than minimum wage doing deliveries or Uber driving. If you're only making minimum wage you're doing it wrong. For Uber Eats you can manage to pull about $20/hr in some cases. Uber drivers can clear even more.
physical labor and sustainability is a question of technique and form, i know a lot of old movers who are smart about how they use their bodies and have no issues.
Shane, you really need to work on your audio. Most of your videos have some kind of audio problem, either p's popping or distortion at higher volumes. Listen to your audio with a pair of headphones after you record and adjust accordingly, please.
I don't day trade or trade penny stocks. I do however do well looking for a market crash, I mean fire sale for a condition that is most likely to be temporary and buy on sale, and when there is a bubble, get the stop loss in place. The start of the pandemic was my best time. Price of oil tanked. Bought pipeline stocks, tankers, and whatever I could right after selling out of tech at the bubble. Sold INTC at 62.75 on a stop loss after hitting 68 per share. Today 2 years later INTC is 48.11. Gotta recognize a bubble and sell high. Bought ENB, WES, FRO, DHT, and XOM. WES is up 385%. ENB is up 33%. FRO is up 23% DHT is 3.8%, (reason to diversify) and XOM is up 125%. Sold FRO because they eliminated dividends and somehow running at a loss even though oil it up, so bought PAA in July last summer. PAA is up 4.57%. On top of gains, the stocks pay dividends. so PAA up less than 5% is offset by dividends of 7..6%, so worth keeping. Not selling DHT at a loss. Will keep it until is either dies completely and be offset by the stock nearly 5X the purchase price, or wait till it has gains, then sell for something else. Buy low, not sell. Sell high, not low. So in my spare time made a bunch selling INTC at a peak, then buying low. so net worth from stock is up almost $70,000 in two years. My wife was into MLM. Get a check monthly for just under $3. In comparison, dividends from stock average about 600/month, which is then saved for the next market sale. Dividends alone bought all my XOM stock.
Tried to log in to the Zoom Training session yesterday . Said it was "...waiting for Host..." and, though I refreshed, it acted like I was in a Zoom session that never started. Was the Zoom session recorded and can I view it? Thanks!
Freelancing is worth it only if you are way above average in your domain or live in a poor south east asian country and are a young person with no family to take care of
It’s also worth it for people that need Medicaid and are limited in how much they can make (because they can’t afford their medical expenses with private insurance)
True this I can literally make top % pay in my country without a degree if I can grind through it with all these heavy competitions! The competition is still stupid high though (so high that you gonna expect shit pay/no pay for the first whole year )😑 Also if someone can atleast hit 20 dollar per hour mark, it is more than enough to handle a family of 4 in south asia/ south east asian country!
Day trading stocks requires consistency over time but it gets better after the first few years if you stick with it. The stats change completely when examining people who have trades for over w years. Not recommending it for a everyone
Trading low earning and low longevity? Maybe shouldn't have included it if he wasn't going to do deep research. Also limiting only to penny stock trading and day trading doesn't paint an accurate picture. Yes trading is probably the hardest of the lot, but the earning potential and longevity are a 10/10 and 9/10 respectively I would say. This is for trading and investing as a whole. Investing is far more accessible and is passive. Trading has massive earning potential but is extremely difficult
In the case of Shopify isn't is also the case you can use it to sell your own stuff, such as self published books that were printed with the aid of sites such as Lulu for example?
real estate is probably the easiest one on this list to scale, you can literally just recycle the money invested lol. idk why you said its so hard to scale unless you are grant cordone
You basically have to build the next Facebook if you want to do that. It has to be a wild idea. My approach is to avoid that and just build a small app that local businesses can use. To outcompete, you would have to sell cheaper subscriptions than what the competition offers. You don't need to have millions of users, just a few businesses willing to pay, enough clients to get you your desired income per month.
honestly, I'd probably start with some of the lower barrier to entry side hustles just to get enough money together to get into real estate and rental property
3:04 Amen brother, crashed and burned. But it was a good lesson. I couldn't control what my Chinese suppliers were doing. I made a business plan and I couldn't justify getting the product to me, repackaging, and sending it to the client. Drop shipping to the client, I found the seller was inserting their advertising and the pricing. Nay Nay Nay..............
Thank you so much for all the good work and now I can very sure that those side hassles RUclipsr most of them is talking bs thank you for bringing the real information
I want to be a freelance translator in turkish-english. I am a collage student who wants to earn extra money. What can I do to get jobs nd NOT get scammed? I live in tukey btw for the reference.
That's a service based business, basically any form of freelancing falls under that category. Only thing is that some of these businesses are creativity oriented and don't always solve a particular problem, which is what he was referring to, so your mileage may vary
21:58 wow! soon you'll see this become a degree with the advent of zoom university - you could say this is the one skill zoomers would actually pick up lmao 25:00 great tip! similar to how people get into entrepreneurship after let's say 10-15 years of working up the corporate ladder as a consultant or as an engineer
I don’t like how softly you try to downplay the statistics and make every freelancing sound great, you should have a much more rigid judgment of these businesses and the flaws that come with them…unless you just want to make people feel good about starting a business and I mean sure whatever pays the bills lol
Umm, I think his description and ratings was enough. I think you can infer logically (and from the nice list) what he favors and doesnt. Unnecessary drama not needed, but could be entertaining lol
Yes you can do that But what if it peaks in between and drops worse after 10 years?? You gotta keep updated... What if it's rising, you sold and then it jumps literally twice?? It's all a big gamble.. U should be content with what you make and make "gain whatever you lose" as your main motto and "hustle for additional gains" as your side motto!!
I highly advocate for NOT flipping items, more often than not its an extremely scummy practice. I find that “flippers” are often the least respected people out there. Its one thing to buy off sites like facebook and such, but buying out popular products that people want or sometimes even NEED should not be advocated for and it seems kinda irresponsible to put it on this list in the first place
I disagree. Its a free market. If someone wants to buy at a price point that you the seller set, thats on the buyer not the seller. NEED is subjective here. We're not cornering the market and boosting diabetes medicine prices here, we're selling refurbished laptops or shoes 🙄 Like the video said, its limited based on your inventory, but morally consequential, far from.

Yes trading is probably the hardest of the lot, but the earning potential and longevity are a 10/10 and 9/10 respectively I would say. This is for trading and investing as a whole. Investing is far more accessible and is passive. Trading has massive earning potential but is extremely difficult
you didnt put the last one "influencers" in any tier, can you comment and tell what tier you consider it?
In the case of Shopify isn't is also the case you can use it to sell your own stuff, such as self published books that were printed with the aid of sites such as Lulu for example?
Where is Web Development, Graphic Design etc?
SaaS
@@maximilianwenker916 mean?
@@abusayemsifat3669 software as a service
Service based businesses. SaaS is specifically for web/software development
Shane thankyou man
real estate is probably the easiest one on this list to scale, you can literally just recycle the money invested lol. idk why you said its so hard to scale unless you are grant cordone
What about video editing?
Delivery apps drivers make more than engineers in my country, but yeah, it's not scalable.
Creating a SaaS business alone and making billions? You out of your mind
And competing with people like Salesforce and slack... Vry difficult
Notch did it with Minecraft
And the founder of stardew valley did it in the level of multimillions (not billions but you get my Point)
@@maximilianwenker916 Those are games, not exactly SaaS. SaaS is more like Slack, Google Drive, Twillo, ClickUp, Salesforce, DocuSign, etc.
Anyone else listening to Shane’s voice to fall asleep?
Freelance writing?
honestly, I'd probably start with some of the lower barrier to entry side hustles just to get enough money together to get into real estate and rental property
That's a LONG way up dude...
Aww thank you for the worksheet
I want to be a freelance translator in turkish-english. I am a collage student who wants to earn extra money. What can I do to get jobs nd NOT get scammed? I live in tukey btw for the reference.
Turkish people are not good in English but you sound good
you forgot about photgraphers and videographers web designers tutors etc
That's a service based business, basically any form of freelancing falls under that category. Only thing is that some of these businesses are creativity oriented and don't always solve a particular problem, which is what he was referring to, so your mileage may vary
Are you using any particular software to generate your animations?
bruh delivery apps earn at least 5-10 more per hour than minimum wage
That might depend on where you live -- how high minimum wage is, how high gas is, how densely packed people and businesses are, etc.
I am getting ready to get into IT. Are people like carpenters and delivery drivers really getting into IT that easily
What about a service based biz that is helping real estate pros create online courses lol
Hey why were u just kidding about the trading nft part ?!?!??!?!?
Can someone help. Me to start In services bassed solution
I need a Job
You stopped adding to the tier list after service business :(
Is hospitality management worth it??
Everyone knows youtube is just rich kids whose parents paid for advertising and already had multimillions..
21:58 wow! soon you'll see this become a degree with the advent of zoom university - you could say this is the one skill zoomers would actually pick up lmao
25:00 great tip! similar to how people get into entrepreneurship after let's say 10-15 years of working up the corporate ladder as a consultant or as an engineer
Zoom Uni is rubbish.

“Maybe you’ll might learn “
LMAO I just love how being a doordash driver is better than the outright scam that is penny stock trading.
So real estate it is then
"Looks at current market"
...
Have a good time now 👋
I don’t like how softly you try to downplay the statistics and make every freelancing sound great, you should have a much more rigid judgment of these businesses and the flaws that come with them…unless you just want to make people feel good about starting a business and I mean sure whatever pays the bills lol
Yup it is hard!!!
But a push is needed
😊
*injects you with motivation*
Umm, I think his description and ratings was enough. I think you can infer logically (and from the nice list) what he favors and doesnt.
Unnecessary drama not needed, but could be entertaining lol
Cool
Could just buy Bitcoin and Hold it for 10 years.
Yes you can do that
But what if it peaks in between and drops worse after 10 years??
You gotta keep updated...
What if it's rising, you sold and then it jumps literally twice??
It's all a big gamble..
U should be content with what you make and make "gain whatever you lose" as your main motto and "hustle for additional gains" as your side motto!!
GREAT video thanks! All of your videos are great! lots a good info to get yourself on a new career path.

We're not cornering the market and boosting diabetes medicine prices here, we're selling refurbished laptops or shoes 🙄
Like the video said, its limited based on your inventory, but morally consequential, far from.
Not all MLMs are bad. They're all different. Research is required. Very good way to earn passive income.
ALL MLM'S ARE BAD.
