Having physical upgrades appearing on the character was something we talked about like Day 1. It really mattered to the team to make sure the player felt strong, while also leaning into the concepts of body modifications and cybernetic upgrades. Thank you for providing such clear and concise feedback, including all the all important "why" behind each! The first patch is already underway, tackling some bugs and balance. But I'll make sure the team has heard this as well to hopefully inspire some other improvements as well. Cheers!
I wish you spoke more about the aesthetics and pixel art of the game, and how it serves to propel the story, as well as the intense drum n bass style music played in the background. The game oozes cool factor, and all of the enemies have awesome portraits and dialogue that really make them unique. Looks and soundwise, the game is amazing and this shouldn't be overlooked. Overall, I agree with your score for the game, it's a solid B+. The game and narrative have some strong initial presentations, but after about 4 hours of play spaced over 2 days, I found myself going forward only to finally beat it and uncover the story (which is presented really well). My issue with the game is that the gameplay loop gets boring way to quickly, and becomes more a chore to get to the story even while playing on speed mode. I don't have the same urge to beat it again like I do with Isaac, and that's mainly because the actual items you get don't interact in any interesting way that make the runs feel different.

definitely a fun game, and I enjoyed my time with it :) (look forward to the updates as well)
would love to see more bosses and maybe a new game mode which allows more than 25 skills to be allotted

3:41 they're at the bottom of the skill point menu
I was glad to hear they added that in the third patch - though this review was of the release candidate just a few days prior to official release
Just beat my first run, even with just about 7 hours it might just be my GOTY
While it doesn't quite hit GotY for me, it is absolutely one of the better bullet heavens out there :)
Wait, so now that the game is fully released, can someone tell me how to get the true ending??
You have to flawless the first four bosses and beat the final boss.
@@TheZeroHeader Thanks!
