Flying To MUMBAI, INDIA 🇮🇳 (SELECTED!!)

  • I had been in the Maldives for several weeks but was about to head out on a flight to Mumbai in India. The flight would take a long time even though it was just a 2.45h direct flight. You'll see what it's like to fly to Mumbai in India as a foreigner. I had to apply for an E visa, and also fill out a health declaration form and provide proof of vaccination. The flight was a cheap flight with Air India. The coming videos will have a different video style. I have tried hard with nice dorne shots and cinematic clips but what seems to work the best these days is to walk around and speak on the street, like many other vloggers do like Bald and bankrupt, Kurt Caz, Harald Baldr, Harry Jaggard and more. So it is time to try something new.

For the people watching from India:

About the paperwork shown in the video, one is a declaration form of your past travel and address which is usually filled up in the flight itself.
The RTPCR test is madatory if you don’t have an India recognised vaccine. You could have avoided it at the airport by carrying a recent report before boarding your flight.
Also, normally you will face more paperwork when you’re traveling to a different continent (except in tourist dependent economies like Maldives or Sri Lanka).

When traveling in India or any other culture, you should be aware of local etiquettes. People usually stare when they see someone behaving out of the ordinary.
For India, two things you can remember regarding stares:
      1) The upper echelons of the society will stare or confront if you do something impolite or not per the etiquettes.
      2) The lower echelons will stare as they are inquisitive and will possibly want to get pictures clicked with a foreigner. This is an old rural practice in India where people who travel to a big city from villages will take pictures to show their family back home that they went to travel so far that they met someone from even far off! This basically amazes their family members in terms of how far the person had traveled from their village.
      Quick tips for traveling:
Look at the shoes of people before you go to ask them questions. If they are wearing outside shoes, they can help you out with answers, otherwise if they are wearing flip-flops, they might not be able to understand you.
You can also ask for directions from any shop/store to a particular place (Don’t ask their opinion or reviews of the place though).

William went for a cheap but decent hotel (Fab Hotels) which is a chain used by office employees when travelling to a different city for work and need to stay a night. These hotels are not tourist friendly. He seems to be staying in an area that is not used to tourists. The man who complained was because William was standing with a selfie stick in the middle of a walking road which is impolite. In India people walk fast on the roads in traffic, and they are not going to be watching out for obstructions in a non-tourist area. It’s better to use Go-pro to avoid these confrontations when filming in foot-traffic heavy areas.
It’s definitely going to be an interesting watch! 😂😂😂

Holy Crap, William! Hopefully you find a friendlier part of the country...I can't believe the looks you were getting and we freaked out at the end of your video with the running footsteps outside your door!! You clearly are trying to be nice, but some people want no part of it...PLEASE be safe! And find a safer place to stay! ✌️☮️

It so wonderful to be introduced to something new from my culture in Central Texas.
I have recently been so blessed to have a couple of Indian coworkers who are so sweet to teach me their culture. They bring me different foods and drinks to try. I learned the side to side head shaking is similar to us American shaking yes up and down.
William, you’re so fortunate to be able to travel and meet different cultures straight in their homeland. Yes, there’s anxiety, but approaching with a calm heart will allow you to appreciate a whole new world. Thank you for filming and taking us with you.❤

From paradise in Maldives into .. a country which has some really nice places to visit like several hill stations in the north of the country , some beach destinations ( but not as beautiful like the Maldives , Mexico or Thailand ), some historic sites , and of course the backwaters of Kerala. But as is evident from your experience at the airport and walking in the city , you have to be very careful every step of the way , and you will need a lot of luck as things do not happen smoothly at all !!!!. All being said enjoy the journey and best of luck. 👍👍👍👍👍

Mumbai isn't bad. Its just different and takes time to understand it. It is definitely overwhelming for sure. Especially if its your first time. Check out Juhu Beach, proper Bombay and street food scene. The city is amazing to discover. It has everything for everyone.

    Hi William,
My husband and I love watching your travels. We like the drone shots and that you give some history of each area. We followed along with you through Mexico as well. I loved being able to see the areas of Sweden. I am Swedish too :). 😊 someday I will make time to travel and meet the many relatives there. For now I’m a California girl..living the dream..:)
We wanted to wish you safe travels on your next adventure to India…that’s on my bucket list too..
Be safe and enjoy every day of your journey…I will be watching….

As they say here in the USA, "To each, his own." Your travel destination choices are quite unique, & I most certainly would never go to some of the places you've visited---but, that's what keeps your channel interesting to me. And, you have your own, unique, style of putting all of your videos together---so, please don't worry about copying those other RUclipsrs you mentioned---just stick to what's been working best for you all along!

@@williamtaudien Well, there's certainly no harm in experimenting with new approaches, in order to see which might prove most successful at gaining increased views & subscribers...still, in the end, I think you'll find what you're doing now works best--it's just going to take more refinement & more time...I recently subscribed to "itchy boots" on RUclips...she has over 3 million subscribers, & she employs a more cinematic presentation, such as yours...it's taken her a long time to build up her subscribership, plus she changed from being a backpacker traveler to a rally motorcyclist (which everyone loves apparently)...you'll find your niche--it's just going to take a little longer than you may have wanted or anticipated...just enjoy the journey on the road less traveled!

Hi William, always enjoy your channel and you sure know how to keep things interesting lol. Bombay, what a culture shock after the wonderful Maldives, a destination that I always thought was too expensive. I did three weeks in India a couple of years ago. We went to Rajasthan which was not so crowded and really enjoyed it, but once was enough. Get used to people staring lol. Keep well and safe travels.

This was an awesome video because it showed the immigration process in great detail. Don't think that you have to follow your "plan". I say go back to the Maldives, go back to the same hotel on Diffushi and stay for as long as you like. You seemed to be genuinely [a bit] sad when you were leaving, Life is full of challenges as is -- don't seek them out additionally. If a moment in life blesses you with serenity, that is where you should be. Don't run away from the place you enjoy just because you think you have to keep moving.... :)) The time will come for that, too.
