Just so you know, it's actual position 2 of the pickups selecter switch that gets you all 3 bridge coils as active. Position one is just the first two, making it the usual dual coil humbucker sound.
@BaenaCarcosa True. The Apocalypse pickups from which it's derived are actual pretty high output already. Higher than the Sunset pickup at least, so it's not surprising it clipped quicker.
I got my Scarlet Burst Extreme 7 two weeks ago now. I did 12-62+80 for D#1 and I’ve been learning new invent animate on it and holy crap it’s one of the best 7s I’ve ever owned.
Schecter has been killing it the last few years. I miss my multiscale 7 in the toxic green splatter finish. I traded it in towards my majesty, but i still think about it from time to time
@NateSmith87 as someone who wants a mid/high budget range 8 string with single coils so i can play jazz/low tuned distortion on single coils i think it is pretty necessary + it will look dope. Im out there looking for something like it but the only 8 string with single coils is like 2k$, is the ESP LTD Javier and aint no way im spending that much
I used to have an Alvarez Dana Scoop that had a three coil bridge "bucker." It's been a lot of years but I remember it being a strong sounding pickup. The concept is certainly cool.
The video glitched on RUclips's end for a second when you started playing the first guitar. It must be a sign of how heavy it was 😂 The Tripocalypse pickup reminds me of this Wechter Pathmaker guitar I'd won from Sweetwater about a decade which I regretably sold. It had pinch/push switches on each humbucker so you could configure each how you'd like. Push both switches in one direction to select that individual coil, pull the switches together for standard humbucker sound, pull them apart for an out of phase sound. The guitar also had a piezo built into it. So many tonal options. A perfect example of "I'd appreciate it a lot more today".
Cool stuff Andrew! I think they both look awesome. I also thought it was really cool I could see the vibrations of the strings on the video! I also bet you are really ready for some R&R after that one hell of a tour!
Damn man, sick as always. I knew as soon as I saw the triad you’d be doing a review as soon as you got one. And anyone know what that last riff he played on the red guitar?
Hey dude, I heard you were gonna do individual reviews, and I saw the triad, but I would LOVE if you did a review of the Sunset Extreme 6. Considering buying and love watching your reviews.
SIICK unboxing Andrew and welcome home! I would love to see you compare those to the John Browne TAO! Or is it a 8-string TAO you have? Anyways how different are they as a whole? PS. Please in your review of the triple coiled guitar, could you compare it to a normal humbucker schecter?
Damn son. That Sunset Extreme really is gorgeous, hard to believe these are selling for under a grand USD. The Sunset Strip in the bridge sounded pretty awesome. What did you think of the fretwork and neck shapes?
i wish the triad came in a different finish. something about a plain gloss black finish with no binding or pickguard always looks so cheap and corny to me.
There have been VERY FEW videos even revealing the Schecter Tripocalypse. I would emphasize to you that your opinion/results as a serious baritone/dropped tuning player would hold a little more water than the average RUclipsr. Please do a serious comparison! You only would need to compare positions 1 and 2.
I love my apocalypse series guitars I might look into that triple bucker next time I'm at sweetwater. Because I'm assuming the triocalypse p/u should be close to what comes in the ones I have now.
I've only seen on 3 coil pick-up prior too this video, it was very noisy even with the gate cranked so clearly Schecter has solved that problem. Very badazz guitars over all.
I used to not like schecter. I bought one of the diamond series and disliked it. This renewed my faith. I just bought a Jackson Chris Broderick 7 string and loved it. I really wanna get the sunrise 7 extreme now it’s beautiful and sounds deadly.
I have a question... normally, to pair a humbucker with a single coil pickup is difficult, because of volume jump on the HB when you use the selector. How reacts the volume when you change the selector from the triple HB to the single coil? For me is ridículous to not pair the triple at least with a HB. Is typical in the good HSS configuration, to have high output SS and low output HB to pair them OK, so I don't know from 3 to 1 coil how good or bad is the pickup selection (talking about volume differences)
The question that comes to mind is what is the purpuse of a triple coil? single coil is the OG.... Double coil allowed for hum canceling.... Wouldn't the triple coil cause 60 cylce hum?
both beasty sounding pick ups. triad ones sound denser. That one single coil added texture to the tone. it didn't sound soft of nothing it's just more meat in one place. i vote for triads
Andrew Baena if you see this I'm hoping you might be able to help out you demoed the sunset extreme do you know or do you believe that the bridge could be swapt for an actual hipshot hardtail bridge like a drop and play situation or do you think it would need more in depth work. Have a brand new hipshot 6 string hardtail along with open gear hipshot locking tuners and a set of bkp juggernauts I've wanted a schecter km6 mkii mkiii and now the legacy but not in my budget but this guitar has ss frets graptech nut the same inlays and $1000 less then those sigs I'm thinking with the mods I can get really close and have a really great guitar I love schecters my others have been over the 1200 mark but I trust in there quality anyone if you see this and have the time hmu if not I know your busy just looking for good info
I have kinda fallen off of Schecter for what they've been putting out.. But that Sunset Finish is gorgeous, and sounds soooo good... maybe have to give em another crack.

Nice. They basically three coiled ya like Dingwall but on a guitar.
Just so you know, it's actual position 2 of the pickups selecter switch that gets you all 3 bridge coils as active. Position one is just the first two, making it the usual dual coil humbucker sound.
Lmao
A true first impressions vid wouldn't be accurate without me fucking something up! haha
@BaenaCarcosa True. The Apocalypse pickups from which it's derived are actual pretty high output already. Higher than the Sunset pickup at least, so it's not surprising it clipped quicker.
Came here just to mention that lol. But that 1st position sounds mean as hell anyways.
AKCHTUALLY
I love how Schecter simply doesn't gaf and just goes ahead and does things lol
lol this isn’t new with that style of pick up 😂
I got my Scarlet Burst Extreme 7 two weeks ago now. I did 12-62+80 for D#1 and I’ve been learning new invent animate on it and holy crap it’s one of the best 7s I’ve ever owned.
Invent Animate has some fuckin fire music, literally in my top 5 played Spotify artists last year 🔥🔥
@@mathprodigyyou should see them live if you already haven’t! I saw them with bad omens and ERRA a while back and all three crushed it.
Schecter has been killing it the last few years. I miss my multiscale 7 in the toxic green splatter finish.
I traded it in towards my majesty, but i still think about it from time to time
I wish Hisatake would buy Dean and pimp it out like they did Schecter. ESP has been good for all its brands.
That Scarlet burst with the pickups reminds me a lot of the PRS CE24 DW which I LOVE
Dude you pulled out the galactic Pegasus riff!! Sounds epic as always
Holy shit. We absolutely need an 8 string Triad
Totally unnecessary.
I had an Alvarez with that also, probably like 30 years ago. I didn't have the Scoop but it was still cool. It was a great playing guitar.
Absolutely love Schecter, I'm hoping to get my hands on that scarlet burst one at some point. Unfortunately can't find it at any EU retailer for now.
Thomann has the grey burst 6 string so I assume they will be getting this one at some point too
@@fl4shbangz Exactly what i'm hoping for! Hopefully they get that in stock soon enough
Isnt the triplebucker supposed to be on the 2nd position?
Yes.
I saw the 6 string version of that redish guitar under a grand. I wouldn't mind having it

This sort of thing is why I love Schetcher. Unique, cool guitars.
It was awesome seeing you in Ottawa!
Oh man, that triple bucker beast! Glad you are back from tour in one piece. Get some sleep dude!
I have a Partscaster with a triplebucker from a Fender Marauder. It gets stanky, but not nearly as stanky as the Tripocalypse. Great score!
Damn man, sick as always. I knew as soon as I saw the triad you’d be doing a review as soon as you got one. And anyone know what that last riff he played on the red guitar?
Thank you for demoing. Like the Sunset Extreme. Been interested in that one
Mid 80's Kramer called, they want their triple coil back.
Fender Marauder had a triplebucker too! I have one in a Partscaster, and it's good, just not as good as the Tripocalypse.
Hey dude, I heard you were gonna do individual reviews, and I saw the triad, but I would LOVE if you did a review of the Sunset Extreme 6. Considering buying and love watching your reviews.

Saw you guys in Seattle for my first heavy show ever. It was fucking nuts🔥
Thanks so much for coming!
What is the riff @ 11:11??
Carcosa - Hypnos
got them 'fresh off the tour' hands nice playing dog
thank you for this video now I’m going to save up for a schecter triad!
Damn son. That Sunset Extreme really is gorgeous, hard to believe these are selling for under a grand USD. The Sunset Strip in the bridge sounded pretty awesome. What did you think of the fretwork and neck shapes?
Fr I am really thinking of snagging it now
I have the Extreme 6 and the fretwork is on par with my Ormsby. Stainless steel frets that are just perfect. The neck also feels incredible!
Under a grand? I might make a bad financial decision tonight
i wish the triad came in a different finish. something about a plain gloss black finish with no binding or pickguard always looks so cheap and corny to me.
It's a miracle I don't have a Schecter already. I've always liked their stuff and a 27" 7 string sounds right uy my alley
Thanks for the awesome video, now I know which guitar I'm getting next
There have been VERY FEW videos even revealing the Schecter Tripocalypse. I wish they made the sunset extreme in that gloss black as well
I saw Carcosa in Denver, you guys were awesome!!
dude the triad sounds fuckin insane holyyy fiirst guitar i need based off sound alone
For anyone wondering Fredrik from meshuggah has a 8 string Ibanez with a triple bucker. First I’ve seen of it..
I love my apocalypse series guitars I might look into that triple bucker next time I'm at sweetwater. Because I'm assuming the triocalypse p/u should be close to what comes in the ones I have now.
Both guitars are SICK!!
Hey Baena! Do you remember what amp sim you were using for this one? The tones are killer!
Cheers!
Remember when we all used to make fun of schecters? Lmao. Now they are one of the only import brands pumping out new shit.
That red 7 string looks even better in video... dang...
One day we'll see the pickups covering the whole gap between the bridge and the neck, that would be awesome lol
I've only seen on 3 coil pick-up prior too this video, it was very noisy even with the gate cranked so clearly Schecter has solved that problem. Very badazz guitars over all.
"Hey, remember when alvarez made a triple coil pickup? No? Perfect! Let's do it since everyone forgot."
Damn yoh are the first person of the whole internet being able to get one of these
Wow that sounds amazing. Perfect tone!
Forget university, im spending my financial aid on a sunset extreme
Dude what are you using for that tone on the Scarlet?
Hey man can you do a dedicated vid on the red one. Havent seen any other demos on youtube yet. Considering buying one 😍
Well Holy Fuck they did it again. That sounds fuckin snappy
Dude a lime green revv amp, that’s insane!
Wow these fiddles are under a grand too. Schecter killing it.
That's a fucking awesome Vulvodinya hoodie 🔥
Boi that three pickups sounds THICC AF
Triad is just a bit too muddy for my taste but what a awesome option if you like that kind of sound!!
It adds more low end, so you probably would reduce the low end a bit.
According to the product page, all the way back on the 5-way, is just the two coils. I'm asking, I guess, if you were in the triple coil position.
I was so curious about the triad, does the triple pickup have noise like a single coil?
I used to not like schecter. I bought one of the diamond series and disliked it. This renewed my faith. I just bought a Jackson Chris Broderick 7 string and loved it. I really wanna get the sunrise 7 extreme now it’s beautiful and sounds deadly.

What is that jazzmaster shaped guitar with the multiscale frets?
Here for the triad tones 🤘🤘🤘
I gotta know what you used to get those tones!
What kind of strings should I use if I want to tune down to drop f# on a regular 7-string?
FUCK THAT IS SICK
both beasty sounding pick ups. triad ones sound denser. That one single coil added texture to the tone. it didn't sound soft of nothing it's just more meat in one place. i vote for triads
What’s the benefit of the third coil?
Andrew Baena if you see this I'm hoping you might be able to help out you demoed the sunset extreme do you know or do you believe that the bridge could be swapt for an actual hipshot hardtail bridge like a drop and play situation or do you think it would need more in depth work. So glad Shechter started incorporating hipshot bridges in their American models and not those boomer sadle bridges
im sold im getting it
I need a fucking triad 7
sick hoodie, vulvodynia.
Bro triple pick sounds like end of the world
I wish they would finish the necks to match
I have kinda fallen off of Schecter for what they've been putting out..
But that Sunset Finish is gorgeous, and sounds soooo good... maybe have to give em another crack.
Not weird, rather super cool gloss black
I just want a super bucker that is coils from bridge to neck...
You still have your Ormsby?
7:48 Holy Jesus Fuck!
Just wait till you get your hands on the motherbucker
how to get such a guitar sound ? 7.24 ?
I hope it comes to Germany. Can't find it anywhere
Love schecter! Hope they start making stuff like this in 8s as well they seem forgotten😢
Is the Sunset pretty much the same shape as the Tao?
Not quite, the Tao has a lot more carves on the horns
welcome back 👻
Dude honestly i thought the first one you unboxed sounded better. The triad sounded just a bit too chonky
Second video I’m not on the Patreon member list 😢
Hey message me on Patreon and I’ll get you sorted!
Schecter stopped giving hardcases?
Thanks.
Bro is quad tracking guitars with one guitar track
I like this dude!
The Schecter Baritone has the "more appealing" tone to me. Mix those pups on a Jackson, Ibanez or PRS, and daaammnnn it'll punch you in the throat😂
they are both baritones!
very cool 👍👍👍👍
Red one sounds way better
🖤
Did you even use all 3 coils? Carcosa? More like didn’t even use all 3 coils
Bruh i just met you
🎸🔥
The triad seem like a massive gimmick for guitarist who don't know that you can have too much output. I love schecter but this really isn't needed.
Not green. Dislike 😂
