A lot of people are whining about this or that it doesn't have, but it's still arguably the best all-around camera you can buy at any price. If you're shooting landscape or portraits, you can probably get by just fine with a lot less camera. But if you're shooting action/wildlife or anything else with dynamic subjects, you won't find anything better. From my point of view, if you amortize the cost of the camera over its minimum 3-to-4-year life, a difference of two or three thousand $$$ is meaningless when you actually use everything the A1ii has to offer.
At $6.5k, a1ii using the same sensor would be expected to also have the following features: Video: New processor, up to 8k30p Open gate, up to DCI 8k60p, 4K120p no crop in full frame and in super35, 2k240p in full frame or super35, 32bit audio with XLR top handle, anamorphic mode, waveform, shutter angle Photo: In-camera pixel shift, in-camera focus stacking, 40-60fps in super35, AF-linked stabilization
It was nice meeting you at the event. I was with my friend that was looking for Phil. 😎 the camera is crazy. The stabilization is pretty good. Great video. 💪🏽
Sidney do you know if this Mark 2 overheats with longer video such as podcasts in 4K or above. I’ve seen one other person saying it does after 30 min or so. Any experience with this or expect an issue with this? Thanks
I don’t think we’d even want a global shutter in a flagship hybrid. The compromises are too great for a camera that’s meant to do everything extremely well. The a9iii sensor is marvelous, but it’s VERY specialized…spectacular at 1-2 things, kinda not so great at a lot of others.
What matters in the end is picture quality, not the technical characteristics, and Sony has a long way fixing their colors. I'd choose any imperfect Nikon over the best Sony body on any day.
@@SidneyDiongzonI think the extra stab will play a difference in handheld video, but if you intend to place the camera on a tripod, then there is zero difference from 2021 specs with the original A1ii in terms of the readout and video specs with the camera dynamic range and colors. Really missed an opportunity to debut a new CPU that could support Gen 4 CF-A, which is needed for 8K60. I do not believe Sony can have this as its “flagship” until 2028 with these glaring deficiencies when Nikon & RED drop a Z9ii well before that point. When you look at what Nikon just did yesterday with another Firmware Update for the Z9, giving it custom Zebras & Shutter Angle…it’s appalling what Sony is doing to their Pro Clients, which I am one and a Sony Pro Member. They give so much firmware support to low end cameras like the a7IV, and leave the a1 to die on the vine, while Nikon is still adding value to its Pro Users years after release. A1ii doesn’t have shutter angle, Sony would rather force you to throw more money at them for a FX-body that doesn’t do stills well, as opposed to creating a “Flagship” that has the best of everything for stills & video
This camera will shoot 100% of the pro work one could possibly think of. But that’s where it ends IMO. It’s not a camera for casual users, travellers or RUclipsrs. FX3 and A7Cii combo makes MUCH better sense 😊
Real talk, do you think the Sony Alpha 1 II is worth the price????
It seems over priced compared to the competition, which has pretty much caught up.
The original A1 is now $5k only. I canceled my A1 II preorder.
Curious...why not get the A7RV?
@@heymanhn Got mine used for $3.7k
Whoa

Totally agreed, it's a pricey camera so it should be packed with more features
Holly Hannah 7:08 the contrast is amazing. Beautiful camera but I don't feel like I'm ready for the A1 II jump quite yet.
One day!

I agree. I’m not 100% sure but there’s a compromise of low light quality if global shutter was in the A1 II. Will have to do more research!

This camera is essentially perfect! Just a bit bummed out that they didn’t include open gate video on it…
2:09 that is a lie, the Alpha 1ii has a 1.2x crop at 4K120 just like the original zero improvements on video codecs
You’re actually correct. My mistake. I’ll be curious to compare the 4K 120 between the A1 II and the A7S3

I think this camera is more for hybrid shooters who do video and photography work equally
Those are terrible cameras…they don’t have an on-axis tilt screen. Totally unusable for landscape and street
Cool vlog for sure…..I want to go to NY. One day lol 😂 Your good with your cameras till 2025 😅
Most Sony cameras are good for a long while haha
When you go to these events or even every time you leave the house is your wife afraid you're going to buy something?
