  • In part 2 of my visit to ‪@DavesAirPlantCorner‬ we do some DLI (Daily Light Integral) calculations for his plants under grow lights. We also get to see his vast collection of airplants, succulents, and other plants.

What is optimum DLI for Aglaonema?
Supposing that it is 6DLI, how we can reach it with 40 Ppfd, mentioned in your website?

Some local plant seller told me that plants with darker leaves such as Anthurium Papi or Ace of Spades requires less light than normal plants, or else they will lose their dark colour, is that true?

Plant sellers work with the greenhouse/shade cloth light system - so yes, those dark anthuriums may maintain their dark color better with more shade cloth (maybe up to 90% shading) vs others that grow best with higher light (which is lower shading such as 60-70%).

When using a water meter how deep do you go to measure moisture?

I've never used a moisture meter - it's not necessary
