“Would you like a piece of Goats cheese?” “I have some here”…reaches into pocket and produces some leftover cheese from his lunch. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 they don’t do interviews like that anymore🤣 love it
Enjoyed hearing Brooks creative process for his movies. Love all his work especially Get Smart tv show. I wish they’d create that show again. Thanks for posting this interview.
Melvin James Kaminsky (Nueva York; 28 de junio de 1926), más conocido como Mel Brooks, es un guionista, actor, director y productor de cine estadounidense, especializado en el género de comedia.
Okay: I don't mean to nitpick; I may be completely off-base. Love Brooks, have watched and enjoyed the complete Cavett episode from which this was edited, but is Brooks's right side-burn significantly longer than his left side-burn, or am I having an episode?
So Princess Bride: Rob Reiner is son of Carl Reiner, Mel Brooks' best friend. Rob asks Billy Crystal to play Miracle Max in Princess Bride. Crystal asks Rob, "why not just get Mel to do it?" Rob tells him "because I want you." Not that Brooks would have been bad, but Crystal was a miracle.
have nothing against the other celebs that were on this show but is this channel ever going to show the Dick Cavett shows where he interviews Jackie Gleason or Art Carney? How about any Honeymooners actors that were part of the main cast? These are rarities much like these.
Where does The Producers rank between your favourite Mel Brooks movies?
Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein hold my top spots with Producers in a distant third place tie with Spaceballs and Robin Hood: Men in Tights.
@@Luzanne. I agree with you with one exception: The Producers was a close third, not a distant one. 😉
You have absolutely superb taste!
Last from what i've seen.
Absolutely top
Oh, please, if there's any more of Mel Brooks we haven't seen, be kind to us and show them.
Dude, I was literally about to write: release all Mel material immediately!

*goat cheese
Dick Cavett definitely wasn't all there.

I don’t want a Get Smart reboot, but I’d love a new show that was equally witty.
Ah those were the days when talk show hosts all had pockets full of cheese
It's a helluva thing. He was respectful, spoke about the movie he just released yet also full of comedic randomness.
What a genius Brooks is.
This man is still alive.
Which one are you talking about? :) I'd like to see Cavett interview Mel again before they both kick the can.
@@ordinarypeople20 Mel Brooks.
Mel is an American icon.
You got that right :)
Dick Cavett had class. I love the guy. His questions never offended anybody and yet, they all had fun answering and teasing him.
Get Smart, writers and producers, Mel Brooks and Buck Henry. The funniest television series ever shown 🤣
"There was nothing to at night, no fun. Tito had the car." 😁😁😁
Man I would love to see The Producers on the big screen! I'm going to have to check if Fathom ever has any Mel Brooks features.
Loved Mel’s impression of Bogart from the Caine Mutiny.
wake up babe new mel brooks footage dropped!
After he practically scolds Mel for drinking coffee, he casually pulls cheese from his pocket..
Wow!I would have thought I was watching Robyn Williams!
I like Mel

Hot Damn! Mel came out swinging for the fences!
Tito had the car. Just fucking genius.

Is this channel ever going to show Dick Cavett shows where he interviews Jackie Gleason and/or Art Carney? I don’t have the Decades channel.
Any reason why they don't show the film clips? Can't be a copyright issue almost 50 years later.
Maybe it wasn't saved in the original broadcast.
Yep, probably copyright. They should put a title explaining which clip though
It's definitely a copyright issue. It lasts for however long the copyright holder lives +70 years after their death.
The clip is a segment from the title song; "Springtime for Hitler".
Anybody know the song that plays at the end of these videos?
History.
God Loves You and so do I.
Peace!

Sound is better. 👍

Mel Brooks is an American icon ... wish he were around making fun of today's culture.
Savage digs...
Kyle lafferty special guest appearance in the Eric smith show on April 4 1968
Springtime..in Germanyytt..with Hitlerrrrr...thats stuck in my head every time somebody mentions the Producers lol.
I wonder if Mel Brooks remembers Sebastion, Pat, Pantoninni.
Long live freedom and democratic socialism
Mel Brooks could play a mean Vladimir Putin.
You can't make Producers these days, what a pity
They did, in 2014
@@dangerouslytalented Bada bing!
Still running on Broadway. Wah wah wah
The movie was remade in 2005. Back then we still had freedom of speech.
