Dont make kids diet regularly unless theyre overweight / obese / unhealthy. You could affect their growth and create unhealthy views on nutrition, like here, where the girls think theyre beautiful because they dieted. Just eat good and balanced food and exercise regularly. Dieting before a performance is okay if it isnt too much weight. 10 lbs isnt that hard to lose in a week as it is mostly water and replacing regular food with low density low calorie food.

It scared me when Jungyeon said Momo would cry at night because she was afraid that she wont wake up the next day. To think that they were so malnourished to that point is so sad and angers me that this world praises eating disorders
kpop industry is so cruel also some toxic fans because your main reason to stan a group should be their music not the artist's appearance and i think this stupid thinking will end when agencies start to only care about the artist's music not their visual or etc. because let me tell you there is lots of groups with just visual and bad music they are literally promoting the idol not the song ????????? so stupid i love my girls
Things may not be perfect but they have gotten better. Swan from Purple Kiss & Gahyeon from Dreamcatcher certainly were not thin or seemed to be forced to be thin at debut. And let's remember its the boys too - one person - can't remember his name - said basically ate only chicken.
In high school I went from 138lbs to 115lbs in a month. It was stressful, practicing (wrestling) is super hard and I was literally starving. But I kept at it because being competitive in the correct weight class for my frame was what I wanted to do at the time. I thought it justified the pain. Nobody forced or gaslighted me into doing it. Dieting sucks but if you don't want to compete in a field of endeavor where weight is important, you don't have to. South Korea and the West have that going for them. What's the alternative? Body acceptance idols? +sized beauties who sing and dance? I don't know that I would be on U2B looking for that content. I mean, I get the whole body acceptance movement but it goes too far when I hear some argue how being fat is healthy. Beautiful? Maybe you can argue about that, eye of the beholder and all, but obesity is not healthy and kills more people than all other preventable causes of death. None of these girls are obese. Not now, not when they were trainees. But they're competing in a marketplace of aesthetics for monetary gain and personal satisfaction/achievement. JYP or any entertainment company can choose to work with people who fit their criteria. Self control and self maintenance are important criteria for these agencies. With so many wanting the fame and fortune and no shortage of super talented, beautiful aspirants, the agencies can afford to choose among the "best". Tiny differences can make or break your dreams. It is what it is.
This is such an ignorant, ugly comment. Body Mass Index, the thing that doctors use to categorized peoples health depending on their weight have been proven to be useless. I'm currently an underweight person, but if you look at my blood test my health its completely fine. It goes both ways. A persons health should be only a concern between them and their doctors and whoever else they want to share it with. You don't go out saying skinny people are unhealthy, then don't go away saying fat people are unhealthy. I know skinny people who are extremely sick and I know "obese" people who have perfect health. The girls are fine and you cannot know their health by just looking at them. How do you not know if someone could have anemia? or an autoinmmune disease? You don't know those things by just looking at them. Same goes with fat people. And beauty can also be a cultural construction, as I have seen, south koreans are very obssesed with weight and have a really high rate of eating disorders, to them, anyone above 50kg is fat. So yeah, that should change for them and for the rest of the world. And if u think fat people cannot be beautiful (because they're "ill") then let me tell you you are ableist and an ugly person on the inside. A link for u to read globalnews.ca/news/2523620/are-you-still-using-bmi-to-measure-your-health-dont-docs-say/#:~:text=U.S.%20doctors%20suggest%20BMI%20is,even%20though%20they%20aren't. but google its free.
I totally agree with you and all these comments talking about how JYP tortured these girls are frankly annoying. These girls weren’t forced to be trainees. They could quit any time they wanted to if they didn’t want to diet anymore. But they wanted to be a celebrity so they stuck it out and look where they are now. Also, comments talking about body positivity from a western perspective but keep in mind in order for a K-pop group to do well they need to succeed in their own country first and it’s just a hard fact that idols who don’t fit the Korean beauty standard will not gain popularity as much.
That's why the heads looks so big on Skinny body's on a lot of girls. Most girls look Just great before and now use paddings to give them some curves. But still think Twice looks better then most of them.

to all people saying idol's diet is strict n torture remember. they chose it. they know the consequences. they read it, think abt it clearly before sign the contract. that's adult life. you choose a job and deal with the risk. idols get a lot of money and fame but with a price to pay like their freedom and mental health just like other profession doctor n nurses are exhausted and prone to be infected by virus soldiers got high chance to die/crippled for life construction and factory workers, and a lot more

It scared me when Jungyeon said Momo would cry at night because she was afraid that she wont wake up the next day. To think that they were so malnourished to that point is so sad and angers me that this world praises eating disorders
it’s sad bc they weren’t dieting they were being starved 😕
kpop industry is so cruel
also some toxic fans because
your main reason to stan a group should be their music not the artist's appearance
and i think this stupid thinking will end when agencies start to only care about the artist's music not their visual or etc.
because let me tell you there is lots of groups with just visual and bad music
they are literally promoting the idol not the song ?????????
so stupid
i love my girls
Love twice 🍭❤️😊
I like green 💚💚💚
Things may not be perfect but they have gotten better. Swan from Purple Kiss & Gahyeon from Dreamcatcher certainly were not thin or seemed to be forced to be thin at debut. And let's remember its the boys too - one person - can't remember his name - said basically ate only chicken.
Chan is a hero
What do they mean they were “banned” from the company? Like banned from the canteen?
💖💖💖
This is so wrong on many levels. I seriously wonder why anyone would want to go through this crap to have the extremely low chance of becoming famous.
Poor Momoring
What do they mean when referring to banning idols
the banned idols can't go to the company to practice for a certain amount of time
I gained 5 lbs this holiday season :-(
That shit should be illegal
It's nice to see the trainees helping each other but this method of diet is just too much...
A link for u to read globalnews.ca/news/2523620/are-you-still-using-bmi-to-measure-your-health-dont-docs-say/#:~:text=U.S.%20doctors%20suggest%20BMI%20is,even%20though%20they%20aren't. but google its free.
honestly fucked up how you end up supporting their abuse, ngl
Lmao Chan got blamed😂😂
What do they mean by getting banned??
i think what they mean is that they're banned from eating at the cafeteria
I am quite sure a spider is crawling on JY's hair at 0:18
Something definitely came down 😂 not sure if its spider. But good observation 🎉
why do they get banned
u should watch this video till the end
And now look at Dahyun. ⏳⏳⏳⏳
i'm glad they can be thicc now, i wonder why the company changed.
I don’t understand. What do they mean by “banned”????
I think it meant not allowed to eat in cafeteria so they wouldn't see each other since they didn't practice together.
jyp overworks them he better let them eat whatever they want now
What do they mean by ban ??
what does it mean if they get banned?
What is the ban they are talking about?
why did they ban them? What does it mean
What did it mean when they were banned?
who is Chan? is he in any idol group now?
Most likely Bang Chan of Stray Kids.
What do they mean by "banned"? What were they banned from, exactly? I'm so lost.
i think what they mean is that they're banned from eating at the cafeteria
Since jy said she didn't see dahyun often I think she meant they were banned from coming to the company until they lost the weight .
what is getting banned? like they were grounded and couldnt do things?
banned from the cafeteria that is why they don't see each other because they have different practice schedules and maybe the few times they can see each other is in the cafeteria
what does banning mean in this context?
Eat in cafeteria I think?
Banned for doing what???😭😭😭
🌹👍🏍️💌👮👽🛸
I don’t get it, banned from what?
banned from the cafeteria that is why they don't see each other because they have different practice schedules and maybe the few times they can see each other is in the cafeteria
What does getting banned even mean
Not allowed into cafeteria I think
@@anne21bon thank u
Um that's kinda fucked up.
O
0:56 momo for win
Lesson: if you work hard today oneday you can talk about past very relaxly and with a laughing face
That’s actually very sad that Jihyo would get banned just because of weight
to all people saying idol's diet is strict n torture
remember. they chose it. they know the consequences. they read it, think abt it clearly before sign the contract.
that's adult life. you choose a job and deal with the risk.
idols get a lot of money and fame but with a price to pay like their freedom and mental health
just like other profession
doctor n nurses are exhausted and prone to be infected by virus
soldiers got high chance to die/crippled for life
construction and factory workers, and a lot more
This is so sad
what does it mean if they get banned?
