One thing that I appreciate in the film is that, thematically, the dark, monochromatic looks Bond sports can be interpreted as mourning wear. Bond is still dealing with Vespers death.

QoS is so underrated. Too many people nitpick it but never mind the fact it succeeding DESPITE the turmoil surrounding its production. Sure, things aren’t as polished as they could be, but the theme and character development is all there in spades. One of my favorite Bond films, and you don’t have to sacrifice an entire afternoon to fit it in, just under two hours is a great runtime for modern audiences, IMO.

If it were not for the atrocious editing, I could enjoy QoS. But your analysis is well stated.

For me the best of Craig's Bond films sartorially. His casual wear from the polo and Levis in Haiti, which give him a very Steve McQueen vibe, to the Harrington in the desert, Bond looks like a man on a mission, not on vacation. Although I'm not much of a Tom Ford fan, his Tom Ford looks in this one are not too tight yet and he looks dangerous and badass, a real killer! I am a fan of this film. I know it' gets a lot of stick but see it as the 3rd act to Casino Royal and it becomes a very poignant character study of Bond's evolution to the Fleming character we know. The style of filmmaking different because it follows more the style of the French New Wave rather than the standard Hollywood fair. Nouvelle Vague prefers to follow characters from scene to scene and focus the emotional inner world, rather than plot or story. In this sense QoS is quite successful while still being of the most action packed Bond movies ever.

In my opinion Bond's suits in QoS are the best he has ever worn. Great channel by the way, I just came across it. Could you kindly do an extensive video on Suitsupply's custom made program for a business suit?

I agree! After QoS, his suits seemed to get more slimmer and loosing that classic look.

@@CanadianNewYorker Yeah, and also the suit color and tie combinations are amazing in QoS!

I liked the knee length overcoat so much. I bought one (NOT the Tom Ford). Black. And I also have a midnight blue suit.

The tie in London wasn’t grey. It was white pin dots on a muted aubergine background.

What do you call the type of shoulder seam that is the opposite of Cifonelli, where the shoulder rolls over the sleeve?

I think you mean 'Spalla Camicia' which is a Neapolitan style shoulder similar to a shirt shoulder for an added casual look on a suit jacket.

@@ForTheLoveOfSuits Yeah I know Spalla Camicia. But I was referring to the two different methods of rolling the shoulder seams. There's one where you roll the shoulder into the sleeve and the other is the opposite where the sleeve rolls into the shoulder.

Style in men’s movies peaked in this form. Skyfall had a great casual wardrobe but the suits were too tight.
